Has anyone seen Trump go to jail?

Rachel Maddow reported tonight that the Wall Street Journal (quite conservative) has put out a substantial article about the porn star and pin up girl payoffs that would have resulted in Trump being indicted if he were not sitting President. So there it is. There is an indictment just waiting for him once he gets out. I don’t know that he will be indicted later, but he would have gone to prison or, at least, to trial were he not protected. It’s the story of his life, though, never paying for his crimes.

Hi everyone, I know that we have to remain positive and pray that the orange monster is removed after the Mueller investigation, but I wanted to ask everyone what they see for 2020.  I spoke to someone I know who is a very accurate reader and I also looked and saw that Three psychics I follow saw that there is a slightly greater than 50% chance that Trump gets re-elected in 2020 because of the democratic rival not being strong enough. God how I pray this isn't true but I just wanted to know if anyone else has looked at this.

I don't think that we will see Trump go to jail. I know that there are predictions that he will go silent and that is how see it happening. I can't see sending him to jail or trial. Can you imagine how much more violent it would be? He incites such anger from his cult followers with just words. I think it would be easier and less violent if he just go quite, but then again they would have to take twitter away from him.

I don't think he ever wanted to run again, but now he is in a bind because being president is one way he can protect himself from going to jail.

Jeanne, I think that Mueller will ultimately take down Trump. Many of the readings said that Trump will call quits. Do you see him winning in 2020?

If you haven't been listening to Rachel Maddow's podcast, "Bag Man," check it out. We all know that history eerily repeats, and we've heard the endless comparisons between Nixon's administration and DJT's, but she lays out how the real White House con job was run by Spiro Agnew, Nixon's VP. The similarities between Agnew and Trump are uncanny.

Old Spiro was a criminal of the first order, no doubt about it. He was forced to resign from office, and although the legal case against him was solid and sky high, he was inevitably only charged with financial crimes I think, and pretty much allowed to go quietly into the still night. Maybe this tells us something about Trump's future?

On the one hand, Agnew never did time behind bars, but on the other, few people today really know—or much care—who he was. Of course, that had a lot to do with the fact that his crimes were happening during Watergate ...

Anyway, the man was a flagrant bigot and open nationalist who stoked nativist tensions. He often said alarming and unpredictable things on record, which his detractors considered disturbing, but his base believed signified strength. He took actual cash bribes inside the White House and rewarded federal contracts for them. Pay to play: Trump's family motto.

Personally, I would like to see a perp walk,  a spontaneous celebration as the nation rejoices at his comeuppance,  and public humiliation, but I don't think the Dotard will ever go to jail.  He has enough money to spend the rest of his life in court fighting and appealing and expect he will avoid any jail time.  Shame.  You always want to see what goes around come around, but in reality, we don't get that satisfaction nearly often enough.  I do think the Dotard will face more and more public humiliation as the fullness of his crimes are exposed, though.

As much as I would love to see Trump in jail for life, my sense is that he will leave, under pressure, and will cite either medical or psychological problems as the reason. Whenever I try to focus on Trump, I am coming up against a blank wall after January 2019. I don't know if that is when he actually leaves but he will become increasingly incommunicado until he is forced out but given the option to resign for medical reasons or face trial for heinous crimes against the USA.

Read this and thought of the whole "Trump going quiet" vision that many of you have seen...might be the start of that?

Thank you CC1 for this article. It shows how closed in he must be feeling.  Going silent is what I have gotten all along as how he ends his presidency.  But I don’t know when it will happen.  I had originally thought two years in office. I don’t know now. He acts like he’s been punched in the stomach.  But I think he has some fight left in him yet.

I know I have read many times that Trump is reincarnated from Mussolini and I can’t remove who else at the moment. Maybe he is reincarnated from President Andrew Johnson.  Here are something’s that I read that maybe think of Trump and he being so much alike “When Johnson was sworn in as vice president in March 1865, he gave a rambling speech, after which he secluded himself to avoid public ridicule”.  Trump does this all the time except he does not care.

He also When Southern states returned many of their old leaders, and passed Black Codes to deprive the freedmen of many civil liberties, Congressional Republicans refused to seat legislators from those states and advanced legislation to overrule the Southern actions. Johnson vetoed their bills, and Congressional Republicans overrode him, setting a pattern for the remainder of his presidency.[2] Johnson opposed the Fourteenth Amendment, which gave citizenship to former slaves. In 1866, Johnson went on an unprecedented national tour promoting his executive policies, seeking to destroy his Republican opponents. (Instead of Republicans think Democrats)

And what got him impeached by the House  but not convicted he resigned and left “Congress passed the Tenure of Office Act, restricting Johnson's ability to fire Cabinet officials. When he persisted in trying to dismiss Secretary of War Edwin Stanton, he was impeached by the House of Representatives, and narrowly avoided conviction in the Senate and removal from office.” This is like Trump telling Session to resign and then he appointing Whitaker without Congress approval.

Since he has been in office has been at the White House  Do you think he is being influenced by the spirit of Johnson? I feel like his soul calls out to all these evil high power men. When I was reading about Johnson to me they are almost identical.

Just like Johnson who left under pressure I think Trump will leave quietly or as quiet as he can go

I keep hearing the message "Trump won't be in office much past 2018". Next year he will be in a 5 personal year, so many changes are in store for him. Also, in January, he'll be in a 6 personal month - which indicates family and responsibility, so I suspect charges for Don Jr and Eric and maybe Jared will be coming from Mueller. Anyway, since the mid-terms  and Democratic party taking back the House and all the other wins, and Trump's disastrous trip to France, this timeline seems very plausible. Time will tell, but I do NOT see him running for office in 2020. Btw, he's been in a 19/1 essence since June of 2015 when he announced his campaign. A 19/1 essence means BIG tests of character and discriminating about what is right and wrong - and he continues to be in this essence until June of 2020. I think it's safe to say he has failed ALL the lessons the Universe had put forth for him.

I agree with you. Everytime someone comments about Trump running in 2020, I always feel he's not the President anymore. His energy has been fading for a while now. It becomes even weaker next year 2019. I don't feel he'll last as President much longer. Also agree with Jeanne. He'll go silent for some reason.

I read this part in an article that I think it gave an accurate  description of Trump at this moment..

“I could be wrong, but I believe we are about to bear witness to a scorched-earth retreat the likes of which haven’t been seen since the Boer War. I strongly suspect Donald Trump is going to try to burn everything, and everyone, to save himself from the awful grace of consequences. He can’t stop all of it, but between now and the first week of January, he’s going to try with all his might”

I know some have read Pence but has anyone read him recently? How about Melania, where is she and what is she doing in say in 6 months?   If Trump is silent for some reason, the others might give us more clues.

A bunch of very interesting things are going on this week.

First, Fox news *may* be starting to turn on Trump.  Rupert Murdoch was photographed going into Mitch McConnell's office for a "secret" late night meeting.  Fox's coverage of Trump's Paris trip had some surprisingly neutral elements.  There's also news today that Fox is filing an amicus brief in SUPPORT of CNN's lawsuit against the White House.

There's also the news that Trump is likely going to fire Kelly, Neilsen, and Bolton's deputy national security advisor.

Trump also seems to be skipping out on a lot of presidential duties, such as not attending the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Singapore or the Veteran's Day ceremony in Arlington .  The ASEAN thing is particularly odd; if you're a president trying to broker a trade deal with China and screaming about trade in general, it seems like it would be a place you'd want to be, instead of sending Pence.

Then there are all of the press reports about Trump being steaming mad at the world and lashing out at everyone in the WH.  (The Washington Post in particular is doing an excellent job reporting on this)

And then there's this:   SE Cupp, a conservative columnist who writes for the NY Post and who Trump is said to read regularly, wrote a column laying out a case for why Trump might not want to run in 2020.

http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/ny-oped-what-if-trump-doesnt-run-again-20181114-story.html

There's lots of other stuff going on as well, but these things alone make me wonder if something much bigger is coming down the pike, sooner rather than later.

"Trump also seems to be skipping out on a lot of presidential duties,..."

Rosieheart this made me laugh - I wasn't aware that he was previously engaged in any presidential duties.

Pence didn't even go to the Vets Day event at Arlington cemetery - repulsive, awful... not to mention fake.

Enkasongwriter, at this time, I do not see Trump running in 2020, but I'm not sure why.  It's impossible for me to see Trump at all in the future and that may be because he isn't in the future or it may be because my psyche hides onerous visions from me. When Trump comes on newscasts, I quickly turn it off. I feel I'm looking at something very dark, like the devil. Not the powerful clever devil, but Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness "flabby, pretending, weak-eyed devil of a rapacious and pitiless folly." I can't stomach the man.

Jeanne, I'm curious whether you see Trump's children and Fox  and other friends staying loyal to each other as the chips fall. Will certain fractions break away? Will Ivanka see her father as destroying her own future if she stays loyal to him? If Jared and Don Jr go to jail will they blame Trump? Assuming the truth comes out, how will the people around him choose to respond?
