Israel's move towards Fascism

Today the Parliament took a step they've been moving towards for months with passage of a law that limits their Supreme Court from overruling extreme laws. The protests are intense, thank god, but I'd like to see Biden and our own Congress step up with warnings that we will not do business with this kind of fascism.

"Demonstrations around the country came after the Israeli Parliament passed a contentious measure restricting the ways in which the Supreme Court can overrule the government. The country’s nationalist right celebrated the law’s passage as just the beginning."

It is in U.S. interests to help stop this direction. We are so invested in that country.

@Amy I am very concerned about this move, even though it has been going in this direction for months. Their far right PM is now saying he will delay enactment but I don't trust him any more than Donald Trump. They are the same.

I have felt that the U.S. will continue going in the direction away from fascism towards a more solid democracy, shoring up over time, the laws that Trump and his ilk violated, and bringing violators to justice.  But it doesn't help to see this direction in a country so close to our own in relations, aid, culture. I pray the people of Israel will protest their way to stopping it.
