Yes! Protests against the proposed gigantic telescope having been happening off-and-on for years, but what is happening now is incredible and seems to be only gaining in momentum. There are thousands of people protesting every day, and not just on Mauna Kea itself, but in various places all over the state. One of the things I am finding remarkable about this is people I know who aren't usually interested in or concerned about native Hawaiian issues are actively involved in this issue. I remember reading a prediction somewhere a year or two ago that native peoples will be having much more influence and power in the near future. I am praying for a good outcome for Mauna Kea and the Mauna Kea protectors.

I made such a prediction but it wasn't for the near future, it was that I felt the natives and those who practiced their deep respect for the earth would be the main survivors of climate change. It might be in the Forum section on climate change.

- Walmart will have to rethink its business (Muriel) Predicted June 2019 for the year I believe Walmart will be having some serious discussions in the next few weeks/days about store safety and gun sales. This hasn't happened yet but I didn't want to forget about it. They are going to need some major "positive" spin. This may even effect how Black Friday is handled. They are going to need to reassure their customers (and employees) that it is safe to shop there. They are going to be targets for gun control advocates. They will be specifically mentioned in debates now. Yes, they are going to need to do some major brain storming.

Sorry, I tried to put a link to the news article but somehow it didn't show up. It's the one I made for the month of July. A 6.3 earthquake occurred off the coast of Namie, Japan, on Sunday. It was felt in both Fukushima and Miyagi prefecture.

August 5 --Republicans control everything. Donkey is bound up. (Jeanne Mayell) Predicted in 2015 for August 2019. After two mass shootings in less than 24 hours, democratic politicians are helpless to pass any kind of gun control. For over a decade, Democrats have tried to get gun control legislation passed in the U.S. but it is always blocked by Republican majorities in the Congress, especially Mitch McConnell who controls the Senate. This month, the cry for gun control is met with helplessness among democrats as the Republicans continue to block any efforts (1) for requiring background checks and mental health restrictions for owning a gun, (2) a ban on assault weapons for non military purposes) or (3) any form of gun control.
