@tgraf66 Oh, she's so fortunate to have no damage to her heart, thanks to the timely treatment (and the Universe)! I will pray for her to recover and adjust to the new reality.
I will now tell a cautionary tale about my own mom-- Out of the blue she had a "mild" heart attack at age 69 and required a quadruple bypass. Her heart was damaged and she never got back to being the same energetic person she was (But she is now 98 and counting!) She was mad at the Universe because she had always had a healthy lifestyle, and I guess we've been conditioned to think that will save us.
So ... I am physically very much like my mother. I went to a cardiologist a couple years ago and said I wanted a full "look under the hood" because although I have a healthy lifestyle, I didn't want a nasty surprise. Come to find out I have one artery with buildup slightly above average for my age. Apparently it's a genetic thing. So the doc put me on a statin and baby aspirin as preventative measures and assured me I was not going to have a heart attack at 69. I'm so glad I did it.
I would recommend that if insurance covers it, everyone should try to get their heart checked out proactively.
Oh dear. I just checked my messages.
April passed away last night. ☹️ 😢 😢 😢
I am not surprised-- I think I knew almost from the time she entered the hospital. But we always hope.
A couple of days ago I sent light to her and I "saw" her wrapped in a kind of chrysalis. I wanted to think the chrysalis would transform her to health, but in my heart I knew it was more likely transforming her to the higher form of the next realm.
Thank you everyone for the energy and light you sent. I'm sure she felt it.
@ana, I am so sorry for your loss. April's memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the gifts she shared with others. May her light continue to shine on through you.
@tgraf66, I'm so sorry about your mom. That was a scary situation for you both. It sounds like you mom is in very good hands -- both divine and with her cardiac medical team. I'm holding your mom in healing prayer and sending peace and strength to both of you.
Update on my mom: She went in for the second stent today, and apart from it being more painful than she expected, she's doing well. They kept her overnight for observation, but she should be coming home tomorrow. However....
My sister, who lives about 8 houses down from us, called me earlier and said "I don't know if this is sympathy pains or what, but I'm having some chest pains and my arm feels really heavy." I told her to get to the ER ASAP. They did some bloodwork, an EKG, and an x-ray (why the x-ray, I have no idea), and the blood work just came back with a very high value on the marker (troponin) for a heart attack, so I guess she's joining the party...
Unfortunately, her husband is out of town on business until Monday, and her son is also gone until Monday, so she has no one here for her. More thoughts, prayers, energy, whatever you can send for her, please.
@tgraf66 You've got it! Prayers for your sister's troponins to decrease and all the other testing she will have while in the hospital will catch whatever is going on with her heart. Good news is she will be closely followed by a cardiologist in the future.
@tgraff66 you now know you have to take good care of yourself, too! ❤️
Yes, @tgraff66, I agree with @lowtide! Take care of yourself and go see a cardiologist! With your newfound family history, you should be able to get a coronary calcium scan to check for blockages, and other basic tests.
And prayers for your sister-- let us know how that turns out.
Apologies for the late update. Mom had her second stent placed on Thursday and came home on Friday. Saturday morning she nearly collapsed in the kitchen, so I had to call an ambulance. After being thoroughly checked out, we realized she was having a reaction to some of the medication, so we had to discontinue that. Since that is now out of her system and she is back on her regular medicine schedule, she has improved considerably, although she still tires easily. She will have her follow-up visits this week, and she is scheduled for her cardiac rehab evaluation later this month after allowing for some additional healing time.
My sister was also evaluated by the same cardiologist, and after completing a full echo and angiogram, he found that her arteries were almost completely clear, and there was no damage to her heart, so it was not an actual heart attack. He determined that she had experienced a stress-induced cardiac event known as "broken heart syndrome" (yes, that's a real thing). She is now home and on doctor's orders to rest as much as possible for the next three weeks.
Thanks to everyone for your concern, prayers, and energy sent. :-)
