Boston College history professor, Heather Cox Richardson is worth reading. I don't know how she manages to stay on top of all that is going on with T, but she's thorough, factual, and, well, if more people were reading her, the public would be shocked about the thefts, cons, graft cover ups, and transfer of tax dollars going on in plain sight and the intensifying Constitutional crisis we are in.

@jeanne-mayell I either read her email or watch her videos most days. Not sure how she's able to do all she does, even with a staff. I've sent a link to her substack to many people- anyone who's shown a slight interest in actually knowing what is going on in the country as well as to some who haven't. :)

Heather Cox Richardson is, indeed, a national treasure. I also read and listen to her regularly and she is endlessly intelligent and has so much mental stamina. We are blessed to be sharing the planet with her in our lifetime, IMO!
To share about the quality of this forum, right when heather cox Richardson first started her letters, it was through this forum that I first learned of her and have been reading them daily ever since.

This story is not, unfortunately, exceptional but it is the first that touched me personally.
Early this summer a relative built a house and installed a beautiful yard with a landscaping crew who were mostly Mexicans. On a particularly hot day I stopped by and saw all of the men swathed in clothes to keep the sun off, dripping with perspiration. I asked if they were thirsty. One young man met my eyes looking desperate as he nodded. I rushed to get them ice water shaken by his vulnerable and pain-filled expression. It reflected of his lack of power to meet his own most basic needs.
I learned that most of the crew had not been home for years. Some had never met their last born children. The homeowner describe the entire group as "sweet men."
Weeks later, they were deported by ICE
The midterms cannot come soon enough.
@raincloud Oh I'm so glad you told us that story. I am heartbroken to hear they were deported, and I just pray they were able to go back safely to their families. Thank you for serving them water.
@raincloud if there is a Hell, , there will be plenty of ICE uniforms down there. I'm trying to think of the ICE people who willingly signed up to do that job:

What in the Ever-burning Hell are they thinking? It's hard to make excuses for them. They claim that the Bible is the Literal Word of God, but then they behave as though they never read any of it, much less, took it to heart. What does it say in the Good Book about immigrants?
