Midterm elections

Message to Durwood, with thanks to you for your post -- You know this, but in case someone is considering not voting because they think their vote will get suppressed, everyone should vote no matter how uncertain the voting situation is. The Russians and the  GOP want people to think that their vote won't count. They want you to not even try to vote.

And the voting rules can change overnight.  In Georgia, the courts just overturned the state's voter suppression methods so now all the people whose votes got rejected can now vote.

Vestralux,

Hey NC neighbor! I early voted last Friday. I saw long, long lines outside of early voting locations today.

Based on your suggestion, I lit a white candle and prayed for light and love for the candidates who run to help those who have less than them, for those who want to care for immigrants, those with health issues, for truth and light and justice. My cat found the process of lighting the candle *fascinating* and when I said, "We pray for those who want to serve and protect those who have less than they do," she responded, "Mrow!" I said, "We pray for truth, and light and justice," and she purred, "Mrow!"

It's sort of silly, but she added her support and good energy to our cause. I thought it might make you laugh. Any extra positive energy we can get, right?

Many thanks to all who fight for justice. I get so much peace and love from all of you here.

-q

q, oh, my GOODNESS, I am in love with this kitten. And this story. Ha!

I'd love to think that my own cat son will equally offer his goodwill and good vibes to the cause (he has an abundance of both, after all), but come voting day when I plan to do my own such ritual (it just so perfectly happens to fall on the eve of the New Moon), I have a feeling he'll be more interested in investigating the candles—and thereby accidentally singeing his whiskers ... if I don't stop him first.

I'm really glad to hear so many people have been out there today, though. Thank you for letting us know. Here's to hoping that Tuesday goes smoothly, and that wherever we are, whomever we are, and however we choose to vote, we get the chance to do so without unjust intervention.

 ❤️

Hi Everyone, I started a new topic in another section about reading the future and am copying  these last few posts to it.  So if you want to continue the quantum physics discussion on the nature of reality, or on the nature of prediction/prophecy, you can continue it there.  If you want to continue talking about the midterms, stay here. Thanks!  Here's the section on how prophecy works.  https://www.jeannemayell.com/community/understanding-prediction-and-consciousness/why-do-our-visions-of-the-future-sometimes-change/#post-8465

Hi Everyone,

I drew 3 tarot cards, one for the Democrats, one for the Republicans and one for Trump and asked how each of them would feel after the midterms. I got Democrats: King of Swords, Republicans: four of Wands reversed and Trump: Two of Pentacles (all from the Rider Waite deck). I understood the King of Swords to be positive for the Democrats and to show that they come into more responsibility, the Four of Wands reversed to show confusion or lack of unity amongst the Republicans and have no idea what to make of the Two of Pentacles for Trump except that it always has to do with money for him. Please feel free to give your interpretations as I still have much to learn when it comes to the cards.

I have been practicing daily sending light to everyone for determination to do the right thing and protection for the voters, candidates and the weakest among us. I am also practicing envisioning a soft blue wave gently enveloping the shore, washing away and dissolving hate and anger.

Best wishes for calm and strong nerves for all!

Thanks for throwing these cards and sharing your interpretation.  The Ryder King of Swords, which is your card for the Dems post Midterms, indicates a new found position of power for the democrats.  He sits with a pale blue robe, symbol of desire to do good.  He holds a strong, straight, substantial sword -- symbol of an ability to wield power and especially to have a powerful platform to tell the truth.

The House Intelligence Committee will finally be able to take control of that committee's findings and use it for good.

I notice in that card the tiny trees flanking the King,  indicating the House will  finally be able to will direct some energy towards caring for the environment.  The King looks large compared to the trees which means the House may choose to wield  power to help our earth.  Perhaps they will be able to do something about the rogue EPA that Trump created.

The Republicans' upside down 4 of wands shows that their plans of full metal jacket power to dismantle democracy  once and for all have been dashed temporarily although  they will try to find some way around it.   All those Rethuglican congresspeople and their hundreds of paid consultants and staff  will be scurrying around like discombobulated insects when you lift off a rock.

Finally Trump's two of disks shows that man will as always  look for a way to offset this new shift in power. That's his game. He does not give up. The character on the card looks to evil to me.  He has only one focus - how to further his own selfish aims.

It is telling that polls indicate the House will shift, but probably not the Senate.  The House represents the will of the people, although we know there is a substantial GOP bias that they've set up.

The Senate is so heavily biased towards the right that it will take a massive liberal landslide to take the Senate back.

As I look at these cards,  I do not understand how U.S. citizens can vote Republican.  What are these people thinking?

Jeanne,

I have sat for hours and hours and internally analyzed why people can still support this insanity. Ive come up with a couple reasons, none of which have any basis in reality, but real to them nonetheless.

1. Trump is catering to their pride in lack of education amd giving them a villain to blame all of their problems on, which is a lot easier than to admit your own mistakes got you here.

2. They respect strength and mistake his insecure ruthlessness for him being the strongest leader we have ever had.

3. Hes "taken away" the stigma of racism and misogyny and they are now feeling free to express their hatred.

4. As for the evangelical Christians, they see him as the antichrist and believe that him getting into power will initiate the rapture and they will all be saved by the 2nd coming of Christ. I have heard and read this so many times from evangelicals and this is the one that makes the least sense to me. Assuming(for the sake of my point) that they are correct and he is the antichrist, then supporting him, no matter the reason, would get them left during the rapture, never to get to Heaven(according to their prophecies). Somehow they have convinced themselves that no matter what they do they will be saved, even when they support the antichrist.

Good news:  a new poll finds a 14% increase in the youth vote, the majority of which is progressive.   https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/nov/05/youth-vote-democrats-midterms-nextgen-tom-steyer-trump?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

This was a prediction that Paula made for the midterms.  I have also seen a rise in a powerful youth activism over the coming years.

I also like how Trump has hijaked the midterm elections and made it all about himself and his hatred for immigrants and any one of color.

Mas... I too have pondered the mass insanity that Drumpf has made the appalling reality that we all wake to each day. And I do agree with you and then some! But for every blind, ignorant, hateful, psycho participant in Cult 45's evil agenda, there are ten times more intelligent, caring and truly spiritually oriented people who will prevail with heart and soul.

I consulted Lynda Hill's Sabian Symbols Oracle today on the outcome of the midterms, and drew 29' Aquarius... 'A butterfly emerging from a chrysalis' ..... emerging from the dark, metamorphosis, huge changes in the works, new life unfolding.

Every time I draw a tarot card for Drumpf after the midterms (indictments, impeachment, etc. re: Sir Mueller), the Hanged Man shows up.( I am seeing this as metaphoric, but maybe literal?)

Hopefully Drumpf will be suspended, finito, way gone... and every last creep that is complicit with his insanity.

I so agree, and also -- Drumpf  has brought the dark into the open.  He is erasing the complacency many have had about the rights our forefathers fought for.  He is causing a whole generation of progressives to rise up.  He has stimulated a phalanx of empowered women of all ages to rise up in fury. His cruelty to immigrants has awakened so many to their situation and their humanity.

He is getting close to done for sure. He, like every other power monger in history, is overstepping his bounds. Even Fox turned on him for the latest racist ad when they stopped airing it. His insistance on promoting racism and not the economy is costing Republicans their jobs(hopefully). His minions in Washington are going to start to turn on him soon because he has officially become toxic to them. If this is the blue wave every pollster is expecting, Remaining republicans will throw him under the bus to save themselves and decree that they were against him the entire time.

MAS, I like your basic analysis up there. I believe the essential reason that fundamentalists/evangelicals resonate with Trump is due much more to shared worldview and values, and similar operational modes of processing information and relating to the world, which is all about our consciousness stage of development, and not so much about religious belief. (A person can be a beautifully evolved Christian, after all. Consider Father Thomas Keating, who recently passed.)

Here's a link to a simple image graphic which outlines the stages of consciousness I'm talking about. I personally believe Trump is operating primarily at the Warrior (red on the graphic) or ethnocentric stage, which is highly patriarchal (misogynistic), power-driven, and exploitative. It's all about me-me-me, is preoccupied with instant gratification, and is unable to feel care, concern, or sensitivity for others outside immediate family. It's the stage most toddlers are in, which is healthy and natural. Not so much if development gets delayed and a person never moves passed it, though I guess it works well for gang leaders and mafia bosses.

Developmental theorists say humans fully evolved into this stage around 10,000 years ago, but I'd say this is Trump's center of gravity, and it tells me some real serious stuff went down when he was between 2-4 years old.

Most evangelicals are at the stage directly above this one: Traditional (amber on the graphic). It's all about rules, roles, systems of authority, discipline, and morality (you can see this clearly in middle childhood). This is the first stage in which guilt comes online, and it showed up about 5,000 years ago. Incidentally, about the same time the great mythic, patriarchal religions exploded on the scene.

For most hardcore fundamentalists/evangelicals, this stage is their primary center of gravity. (They never quite make it to Scientific-Rationalism.)

Now, I'd say that Trump has the cognitive ability to talk about Traditional stage values and ideas (rules, laws, some religious ideas, etc.), but we all know he's totally BS-ing when he does because we can feel it. And that's because he hasn't developed that stage of consciousness yet. Without having developed it, there's no way he can fully embrace or care about them.

But if WE hadn't yet brought scientific understanding online, and we were so-so very needing to believe Trump ("because God says"), we'd probably dismiss our feelings and choose to believe him too! He's a con artist to us, but he's a cult figure to them.

As for whether evangelicals think he's the anti-Christ, I haven't heard this (I live in the South and my entire family are fundamentalist Christian conservatives). Most people I've talked with sincerely agree with Trump's policies and opinions—for the reasons you listed. They just faithfully believe that God chose him to lead us toward the Second Coming and the inevitable End-Times.

If they feel any cognitive dissonance about Trump's blatant immorality, I'd say they've completely dissociated from it. It's the same kind of mental gymnastics I see them doing around Israel, frankly. As a rule, evangelical Christians are hardliners on the side of (conservative) Israel, yet most are deeply anti-semitic.

To explain that, here's a pretty decent Newsweek article.

ETA: Jeanne has to be rolling her eyes at my thread derailing, so here: MIDTERMS ARE NIGH! MAY THE LIGHT BE UPON YOU AS YOU VOTE...VOTE...VOTE

(Also, I'm feeling strangely good about Beto? And SO hopeful for Stacey Abrams!)

I believe there was a prediction made I think early on that said that the Republicans will use Trump until he become  too much liability to them and then turn on him. Can this be the time?? I am hoping its soon.

Jessi, between now and March I see a house of cards falling. The Tower Card in tarot. (Let's hope it's Trump Tower.)

Indictments; subpoenas; grand jury testimonies; breaking news stories on intel related to Manafort, Weisselberg, Cohen, etc.; findings of a newly formed House Intelligence Committee; powerful investigative reporting by individuals like Ronan Farrow and others—and more.

I see Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner facing difficulty. (Don Jr. may even experience a personal shock in his immediate family.)

There will likely be shake-ups and shenanigans (the firing of Rosenstein?), but I have faith the Mueller investigation will continue to move forward one way or another, and that by July 2019, important members of the GOP will begin breaking ranks, if they haven't already.

Yes, the originator of that prediction was me.

The timing depends on what happens in the next two weeks.  If there is enough show of public outrage that GOP operatives feel won’t die out then the GOP leaders will turn of trump.  But the problem is that some of the GOP are implicated in the mueller probe so they want to stop it.

Vestralux,

I am getting the feeling Stacey Abrams loses and becomes the "sacrificial lamb" in what fuels a change of campaign laws nationwide. She should win, but because of massive voter suppression and behind the scenes fraud, I feel she loses. That loss isnt in vain, though, as it fuels a huge uprising against voter suppression nationwide to the point something gets done about it. I also dont think it will be the last we hear from her. I see her becoming a very powerful name over the next decade.....possibly even ending up in the White House as VP.

 Vestralux,

I hope it all comes soon. Funny you said about Donald JR I have read an article earlier in the day. They are afraid of the up coming indictments that Mueller has. They are worried because he perjured himself regarding the 2016 meeting at the tower.

Jeanne

I feel like in the beginning of his presidency the Republicans were able to control him better but now 2 years in and the puppet  has gone Rogue on them. You can see how he hijacked the midterm and made it about him. He makes ads not about the economy or how great he thinks he is..nope instead he makes racists ads that not even fox will air. Nothing great about the candidates. It’s all about him and his delusional mind
