Fantastic news!
A friend of mine is a CNN Hero from 2018 and CNN recently did an update  about her organization Music Mends Minds. Â
If you know someone with a neurodegenerative disease ( like dementia or Parkinson's), you need to learn about this organization. Â So, basically, we ALL need to know about this organization because we ALL know somebody.Â
Music Mends Minds was founded 6 years ago as a way to help those suffering from  neurodegenerative issues.  A neurodegenerative diagnosed illness often results in depression, anxiety, and feelings of isolation for both the person and their loved ones.
Since music is  retained in the brain differently from other sorts of cognition such as memory and language, it can be accessed as a form of communication when other avenues are lost. Music can help mend minds.
Music Mends Minds helps those suffering with Dementia and Parkinson's thrive, find joy and yes, even communicate with loved ones again. Â It is currently in 20 different countries and expanding with the help of Rotary International.Â
They are currently offering free live ZOOM  group music sessions 3 times a week with a Music Therapist which are so important during these covid times.  It allows those who need help making important connections  stay engaged.  It brings light to the individual and their families.Â
YES FREE!
Here is the CNN Update about Music Mends Minds with Anderson Cooper which aired last month.  It is amazing!

Thank you for posting that! My son has Epilepsy and a few other related neurological problems like depression and anxiety. We are always searching for the root causes and holistic alternatives to pharmaceuticals, although we still rely on them. Thanks!!Â
You are very welcome!
Maybe your son can try the free Zoom classes or at least have this as a resource. Â classes. It will be awesome. Â I hope you are able to find some things which will be helpful for him in the near future.
