Hi Everyone, I accidentally deleted the entire topic that has to do with leaving the dem party, while trying to figure out if we had been hacked.  I do not want to even use the term of the movement here because of problems people are having who click on YouTubes about that movement.  It's a Russian bot target.

For full disclosure, I want to explain how the thread got deleted.  It was an accident, although I had wanted to change it's title because of what I was learning about the movement. The thread had also become toxic due to a blogger.  But I also do not want anyone to start it again for reasons that you can read further below.

Having learned that the movement is a Russian bot movement and thinking about how toxic that thread had become, I began examining the post that started the whole thread and in the process, I accidentally deleted the post. I got  no advanced warning from the Forum application that I was about to delete something, (you know, like "Are you sure you want to delete this?") and there is no way to undo it.  It just takes the delete and, poof , the post is gone forever with no way to recover it.  What is worse, when someone deletes  the very first post of a thread, as I did,  then the entire thread is deleted.  So it's all gone!

I'm very sorry as there were some excellent  posts that I would have wanted to save. The forum app I use is excellent, and widely praised on the Internet, but it is still beta and has some quirks, one of which is that you can't undo a delete. Many apologies to anyone who lost a post.

Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise that the whole thread is gone. The discussion had become toxic.

I also heard some disturbing news from one of our users who had watched a Youtube on the walkie movement. After watching the video, she began getting barraged with emails about the movement. These are very likely Russian bots.  It is possible that she's been flagged now in a way that is hard to undo.

So I advise that you use caution in clicking on YouTubes about that movement.

Hi Jeanne, The "Walkies"  thing was originally, an authentic movement. It still is. The real life activists are leaving, and today's Guardian had a strong article on it. But the Russians got notice, and zeroed in on it, as it probably made them think it was a way to damage the democratic party. But strangely, it helped the real live activist movement. The Troll bot stuff is now deleted, but the dissident democratic movement, is spreading rapidly. The key was the Primary in New York. So sometimes, the trolls fly boomerangs. life is strange.

I am wary of it. My psychic sense says it's going to stop the blue wave in the Midterms and 2020.

I am wary of a movement that has been taken over by Russian Bots and the Conservative media.   Washington Post says it's a mess.

Jeanne, the way I read things electronically, is that your spirit guides had a finger in the disappearance of that thread. Consider yourself fortunate, you've got help you probably weren't expecting. R1

I think I was pretty vocal about not liking that name, or the thread in general. Maybe it was divine intervention.

Jeanne, there was something very important in that thread that I hope doesn't get lost, and that is the idea of people joining together at a set time every day (or perhaps a few times a week?) to put a protective, connecting light around this forum.   Would that be possible?

I've just returned home after having been away for several weeks and now realize I've missed all these brouhaha about a topic and a thread and comments and drama and don't have more than breadcrumb and cookie trails for reading between the remaining lines as it us but If there ever was a good time to be with loved ones and out in nature it sounds like I made have picked it!

My very first thought was there are no accidents so I say it was probably a good thing you deleted it all, Jeanne. We have instant connections on Google search engines on so many topics as it is and all our privacy is out the proverbial open window every time we slam a door anyway...said with a smile not a grimace.
