Came across a must read. Fair warning: not optimistic, BUT worth reading because it does outline how the states may end up UN-uniting, which is something many on here have seen coming for years. She does discuss civil war, but it's not fait accompli. And it absolutely discusses how states will start to turn against the federal government altogether.

The population has been sorting itself for several decades now. We moved from the deep south to CA 8 years ago, at my behest, as I had to get away from the insanity of the confederacy.
If you have the means to move, move. If you have the means to immigrate up to Canada do that.
Came across a fascinating article last night. Putting it here because I'm not sure if there's a more appropriate thread. It's not forward looking or predictive, but it is a great take on the past, specifically the Revolution. I have been saying for years that had the colonies NOT rebelled, we would have been part of a bigger, more peaceful Canada, that the Revolution was about a bunch of rich white dudes panicking about paying taxes and losing their slaves - basically it was all about preservation and increase of personal wealth. Here we are 250 years later and nothing has changed. The cruelty and violence here are features, not bugs.

They will all decline to appear, and rather than charge them with Contempt of Congress and issue arrest warrants, neither Congress nor the DoJ will act on their refusals. IF by some miracle they do show up, they'll all plead 5th Amendment to every question.
I'm glad they were issued, but it's an exercise in futility at this point.
