@ana

Thank you for pointing out this book. I have not seen it before and am just looking at the preview on Amazon. It looks amazing! I will have to get a copy. It looks to be a great perspective and tool for all of us, especially going through this time in history.

@jeanne-mayell Hi Jeanne and all. I’ve taken a long recess from all the crap going on, but the Hearing and unsupreme court have made it just about impossible to ignore.

I’ve  been stressed since 2015. A few months ago, I learned a have Lyme disease. That’s in addition to Epstein Barr Virus and Hashimoto’s. All three cause fatigue. So it’s been tough. I also have been dealing with lead and mercury in my system and a lot of pain in my knees from tearing the meniscus in each knee over a year and a half. There hasn’t been a lot to cheer me up.

I’m looking for predictions for the outcome of the hearings, trump, trumpism, Roe vs Wade, and the Supreme Court. Are they anywhere?

Thanks,

Anita

@unk-p perzactly!

We are here because of our light. Think of all those who love to proclaim they are the party of Lincoln,  but hate libs.  Oh,  there are so many other examples. The bottom line is that we are here to provide light to those seeds. A seed is destroyed during its transformation. It is buried in the dirt,  with no light,  & when watered,  it resides in the mud. With enough light & warmth,  it sprouts,  cracking & shedding its shell. It pushed forth to the open air,  rooting itself in the earth,  but basking in the sun. It blooms eventually.

We are here to be the light & warmth many seeds need to grow. Not all seeds will germinate,  but we will give light,  love, & warmth just the same. We have to remind ourselves that we're not alone,  or that we're not doing our jobs. We can't do it all- just our assigned tasks.

Transformation is difficult. Just as the beautiful butterfly who turned into a blob of mush inside its cocoon during metamorphosis we'll attest. It's hard work,  but worth the effort to fly.

That was a fantastic and relatable visual image you have created for us all.  It is beautiful and I will remember it and keep it with me!

Thank you!

@debbie-m You took the words out of my mouth. In my 71 years, this is the worse I’ve ever seen this country. I’ve marched in 20s and 30’s. I’ve been through assassinations in the 1960s as many others. But we’ve had 9/11, a large number of school shootings and other mass shootings, a want to be dictator actually elected and then attempting a coup,

the turning back of Roe, and God know what else SCOTUS will do. Climate change, inflation, more jobs open than workers wanting to take them. I’m so tired! When will this ever end?

@anita

I think Jeanne is planning a new RTF night this month.

I hope you feel better soon.

@cindy

Beautiful post!

I was out working in the garden the other day. Last fall I had planted a handful of rosebushes that I got on the 50% off table. I always feel sorry for them lol. I nursed them back to health, and they were doing beautifully, but then winter came and they didn't have enough time to take root and establish (or so I thought). But on close inspection, as I was about to rip them out, I saw green at the base. Not a lot, but enough so they will more than likely come back. I have to believe we will as well.

Some more food for thought. I have young adult children. They are not overly political, as I am, but they have nothing but disgust for the GOP. The younger generation(s) want nothing to do with the controlling, fossilized old fascist mindset. As my teenager said, "The GOP is over." There are also some brilliant young minds working on climate change.

There is always hope. 😊

Thank you. I hope I’m not in the loony bin before then.🫣😩🤪😳 It’s been so many years of stress. Who imagined we’d have a coup attempt by a wanna be dictator that at least 80% of a major party would believe…..all the while having a pandemic…..Roe vs Wade reversed….and one party working to overthrow our government?

@debbie-m & @tgraf66 and anyone swirling the drain with us, after seeing that Scotus was taking up the voting/state legislator thing, I just lost it.  A few years into TFG's tour @tgraf66 (thank you) recommended following Teri Kanefield on twitter for reality and grounding. Recently, Teri did an extensive twitter post about how "Chile got out from under an actual dictator using peaceful means."

This is a long read but it pulled my sense of hope out of the drain. We can do this. For those that need a break, step away from the crazy and take care of yourselves.

@theungamer @tgraf66

Terri is my go-to human for getting talked off the ledge. She's not having any of this discouragement thing. She's all if you don't like it do something about it.

We should rest for as long as we need, then organize and fight back. If you've fought many battles already, then rest a little longer. :)
