YAY VIRGINIA!!!  When I was voting yesterday, I strongly felt that the Dems would win big in VA.  Even though I live in a very blue district, there was a steady stream of people coming in, and I felt something was in the air.

When Danica Roem won two years ago I was surprised, since hers used to be a fairly conservative district.  But this time she won by double digits!   The tide has finally turned a rich hue of blue in Virginia.   I'm hopeful that we can get certain legislation finally passed.

I also had a strange physical reaction last night.  After watching some of the election news, I went through a few hours and even went to bed, feeling like I was getting really sick.  It came on suddenly and was pretty profound -- chills with shaking, exhaustion, etc.   I woke up this morning perfectly fine and, in spite of my ongoing health challenges, I felt good.  I firmly believe it was a detox reaction -- a physical manifestation of our country rejecting and dispelling some of the toxicity in its system.  I wish my body wasn't such a sponge, but hey -- it passed!

@yogagirl -- double YAY!!  I bet MM is sweating bullets.

@yogagirl, my husband wants me to ask you the following question:  Were you sipping Pappy Van Winkle bourbon last night?  ?

@deetoo NO!  Pappy is totally overrated.  I drink Eagle Rare which is a small batch bourbon from a small distillery  outside of Lexington.  It is smooth as silk.  And cost a whole lot less.  You can't buy Pappy in Ky anymore.

@yogagirl,

LOL!!  I will let him know.  Somebody down there steered him wrong.  He has been to Louisville twice, for a week-long summer jazz camp at the university.  He really enjoyed that city.

Louisville is a nice city.  It's friendly and it really appreciates good music of all kinds.  I went to  U of K but U of Louisville has an excellent music school. Most importantly Kentucky as a whole is easy to get around.  No big heavy traffic jams streets easy to manuver.  If your into history we have some very interesting places to visit.

Most prople think because Pappy is so expensive it is the best.  Actually Pappy is expensive because back in the 1980's someone broke into their warehouse and stole over a million dollars worth of bourbon (1980 prices)  when they caught the theives it was a group of guys who played softball and snorted coke  with the owners son.  When ask by the judge if they wanted the bourbon back they said no it might be contaminated so they dumped it.  It became really hard to get for about ten years which drove the price up.  Don't get me wrong it is a fine bourbon but don't let the price fool you.  Personally I wouldn't pay that much for any booze!

Every morning I get my NYT Impeachment update - this highlighted the Sondland change in testimony:

"....CROWLEY: His revised testimony is a particularly serious blow to the president. Mr. Sondland is not part of a “Deep State.” He’s not a “radical Democrat.” He’s a political appointee who gave a million dollars to the president’s inaugural. It’s really hard for Mr. Trump and his defenders to explain this away...."

For the first time in nearly 40 years, Democrats have taken control of Columbus, Indiana—the hometown of Vice President Mike Pence.

On Tuesday, Columbus voters saw four Democrats elected to City Council seats, with only three Republican incumbents claiming re-election victory.

In one district, Democrat Jerone Wood beat out Republican incumbent Dascal Bunch by just one vote, according to local newspaper, The Republic.

In another, incumbent Democrat Elaine Wagner beat her GOP opponent, Jim Hartsook by several hundred.

Meanwhile, both of the city's "council at-large" seats went to Democrats, with incumbent Tom Dell retaining power, while Grace Kestler also swept to victory.

Blumenauer also noted that Juli Briskman, the cyclist who lost her job after flipping off President Donald Trump's motorcade in 2017, also won her bid for local office in Virginia in Tuesday's elections. ?? awesome

In a statement, the Indiana Democratic Party celebrated the fact that "Democrats flipped the council in Columbus—hometown of the former governor and Vice President and won commanding majorities in Portage and Evansville."

"The victories underscore the shifting dynamic in the Indiana suburbs," the group said.

Russian media outed the supposed whistleblower's name this morning.

Don Jr. just tweeted the whistleblower's name on twitter.

Disgraceful.

If you see any reporting that uses the whistleblower's supposed name, do not share the link and let the site or publication know that you do not approve.

Please also send positive thoughts, light, and prayers towards the brave whistleblower and their family today.  They are in grave danger.

Definitely need to send light to the whistleblower and family. Isn't that illegal for him to do though?

Yeah it is illegal.  In fact there is an article this morning which states that the majority of Reps on a Congress disagree with Dump and RedRand on outing whistleblowers.  Sonnyboy needs to sit down and shut up.  He’s making a fool of himself and making daddy look more and more guilty,if that is possible!  I laughed when I read he said that Bevins defeat had nothing to do with a Daddy.  Jr was in the state for a rally last mon5h for Bevins and nobody showed up!

Another nail in the coffin for T and his dimwited son. This is illegal and who is to say that the Russians did not just come up with a name. This person and his entire family is now in danger. Democrats don’t need the whistleblower anymore they got all the info they need by T own appointees.

The question (to me) is did the Russians figure this out themselves, or were they told by folks in the US (because we aren't going to be able to put any Russians in prison).

For example, I can see a scenario where Devin Nunes or Jim Jordan found out, told someone who relayed it to a Russian, who relayed it to another Russian with intelligence ties and then they blast it out.

Damn Russians!  They figured it out!  Oh well, guess we can't extradite them.....no one goes to prison...DARN.

Yeah, but what will they do to him. Nobody is arresting anybody. They can't get people to come in. They DOJ won't do anything.  What good is the Rule Of Law?  And another thing, I get tired of people saying, "We are better than this". We must not be, because it keeps happening.

I did see someone on MSNBC who said, they aren't sure if the President can demand the name of the whistleblower - because again, it's a situation that has never occurred. As far as other people, I believe she said it's illegal for others to do it. I hope the whistleblower and family are safe.

My husband spoke and read Russian on an intermediate level. He would read what they were saying about Trump's cooperation with Russia back in 2015, then Trump would deny everything to the American media. It was frustrating to watch. There are enough English language sources for Russian media outlets for English speakers to read along. It's disheartening to watch people fall for the propaganda, especially the Deep State bs.

My disgust for the Republicans and especially for the Trumps is beyond words. I look forward to the day they are all in jail. Donald Jr. just tweeted out the name of the whistleblower! He used the word alleged  but the person whose name he gave in now in danger.
