I'm a bit of an amateur psychic so take my predictions with a grain of salt.
But I am predicting that Rosenstein will NOT be fired thursday because Trump is aware of the potential fallout. Also, I predict that Trump will no longer be president sometime in 2019.
Why wait until Thursday? If he's going to fire Rosenstein, what's the point of putting it off? Something is really fishy here. Maybe they're hoping that the Kavanaugh hearings will draw focus away from their bungling and it will just get swept out of the news cycle. I know many think it's a play to distract from the hearing, but I just don't see that as a plausible outcome. People are locked on. This reeks of a mistake they're trying to cover up. What actually happened in that meeting this morning? I think the intention was to fire him today and something happened. I'm not buying the narrative they're pushing. Besides, Trump doesn't fire people in person, so wtf is this really about? PracticalNihilist, just saw your response. I'm inclined to agree.
From what Ive heard, Rosenstein basically said "if Trump is gonna fire me, he needs to have the guts to do it himself face to face" which leads to the Thursday meeting. Trump is booked with the UN conference thru Wednesday so is unable to. Whether Trump has the guts to fire someone looking them in the eye is an entirely different question. He doesnt have a good track record of that. I read it as Rosenstein buying himself a few days for Mueller to protect what he has for when Trump fires him(and I wouldnt be at all surprised to see an indictment or two Wednesday).
I am sure that firing him is the plan, especially since they had already leaked the resignation cover story, that Im sure Rosenstein wouldn't conform to because he knows what Mueller has.

I think Hannity thinks that Rosenstein and the NY Times reporters (who were the ones who leaked the story about Rosenstein wanting to wiretap the president that led to Rosenstein potentially getting fired) are staging a Saturday night massacre a la Nixon by goading the president into firing Rosenstein. It's strange and comical to see Hannity so paranoid.
Fear is how they are controling the (self) righteous masses. Real or imagined by the individuals involved. The paranoia must be overwhelming all right!

I felt at the time that someone leaked the story of Rosenstein saying he would wear a wire just to give Trump cover to fire him. It is curious that Hannity is against this though. I posted on the Kavanaugh page that I think setting up the meeting on Thur with Rosenstein is to distract from Dr Ford's testimony. It seems like a bumbling move to give several days warning for firing a key member of the Mueller investigation. I am sure Mueller and Rosenstein have taken steps to further protect the investigation this week. This whole thing feels off.
I think the Rethuglicans are going into panic mode. I get the feeling, when I see Mitch McConnell on TV, that he is using all his strength to keep "poker face". I hope the exertion breaks him...
I saw this a long time ago. Mueller and Rosenstein have back up plans on back up plans. If R gets fired, that will trigger a series of events that close steel jaws in on Trump. I think Trump is aware of this and so continues to dance up to the edge, hoping he can spook R into quitting--but ultimately dare not fire him.
Rosenstein will not resign. People underestimate his intregrity and genius. He will not be fired; it is posturing on bluster of Drumpf... the Great Evil Idiot will be gone possibly in early December, but maybe January. I see Mr. Mueller presenting his evidence and Drumpf surreptitiously resigning before he is indicted... Mueller is forceful and like a 'vicegrip' in his pursuit.
Stargazer, I was wondering if Kavanaugh gets confirmed, which I doubt, will it affect Mueller? There are scandals that will take down Kavanaugh.
I don't feel Kavanaugh will be confirmed, no, something to do with the report when Grassley gets it perhaps. For a little affirmation.....

Does anyone see ‘red flag’ regarding Trump’s little chat with Rosenstein on board Air Force One yesterday?
Nothing specific Im getting, but Im sure Trump unsuccessfully tried a few things to either gain loyalty or compromise Rosenstein/the investigation. I think Rosenstein is smart enough to see it coming and honest enough to not bite. The only issue I see coming, aside from optics or future lies told by Trump about what was said, is that he said something really stupid and turned Rosenstein into a witness in the investigation.
I read that Rosenstein and Trump did not speak one-on-one, there was someone else in the room. My guess is that Trump behaved himself as a result and didn't say anything crazy.
