This is physics. We are headed towards a new paradigm, but it is hard to see it on a day to day basis. If you keep track of the positive events and see the negative events as catalysts for the positive, you might start to see where we are headed.
Imagine a graph. This is the graph I keep seeing in a meditation (starting in 2014). The line, which is our collective well being, moves slowly forward almost at a flat slope for many years. Then it hits turbulence in 2017 and that turbulence gets stronger in 2018 and 2019, then plummets downward in 2020. I am so glad that spirit showed me this graph back in 2014 because it gives me something to track and it gives me so much hope (and it keeps coming true).
2020 is a point of a paradigm shift. Now we are in a new spiral, although each spiral is part of a larger spiral. From 2020 to 2028, that line struggles upwards, but it moves up and down.
Near the end of its progress, our collective well-being slopes steeply upward and shows a new height in 2028. I can't be sure that 2028 is still the summit. It might be sooner. But if we keep track of the good news as well as we track the bad news, then we will begin to see the trend. @baba's readings, like an angel helping us, show the good news.
There are also several news sources for good news. The Good News Network, The Washington Post's The Optimist and David Byrne's (Talking Heads) Reasons to be Cheerful all track good news for us.
Nature evolves in a spiral, not a straight line. That means that progress can be slow at first when we start a new spiral but it is invisibly growing exponentially. I feel that if someone were able to plot the growth of good news on a line, we'd see an explosion of positive events coming, until a new paradigm occurs.
You can see this positive trend in sustainability, for example. Electric car use is about to explode over the next five years. That will put a big dent in fossil fuel use. I see solar and wind energy also exploding. We usually see the timing when the events begin to surge upwards.
Progressive politics are also escalating; paradigm shift come in waves, with the biggest shift in 2028.
So we need to pay attention to the good news so we can begin to see these paradigm shifts earlier. They will give us hope and energize us to engage in the work ahead.
Bad news events also catalyze progressive trends. We need both to keep the spiral going. I think of it as torque, the force that causes anything to twist or turn. It keeps things going. We need both positive and negative events to keep us from stagnating.
Tagging a few people I thought might be interested in this idea @coyote @bluebelle @baba @Kristin @iridium @TheUnegamer @deetoo @dannyboy @unkp @pegesus @cc21
Me again. You can track the spiral in your own personal evolution. Both the negatives and the positives. So no-one needs to despair (lose hope) when bad things happen. They are catalysts that propel us higher. Even if you avoid growth with addictions, eventually, the addictions will stop working, you crash, and bam, you are propelled forward. So never give up on yourself or on anyone or on our collective.
Jeanne - I love this post! And I needed to read it. Thanks for tagging me - as you know, I absolutely love spirals and love this explanation of our upward trajectory. It makes so much sense and fits in with the universe on so many levels, small and large.
I think it is so important to remember this and I appreciate you reminding us of this back and forth, of good and bad, but that this growth (in true spiral form) is *exponential*. That is the key! Explosive positivity propelling us in bursts. And yes, there are bad events and negative things that will continue to happen that also lead to growth and more openings/opportunities for positive changes.
Jeanne - I love this post! And I needed to read it
Ditto Jeanne! Thank you for this!
There's a lot to think about here. One thing I've noticed on Twitter is that a lot of progressives in particular are treating everything right now like an all or nothing. What? Infrastructure went from 6 Trillion to 3.5 Trillion and now we're giving up even MORE? This is unacceptable!
You can absolutely obliterate a room in seconds. Give my daughters two unsupervised minutes in the living room and every book is off the shelf. Every drawer overturned, every DVD out of it's case. Lots of damage.
It takes considerably longer than two supervised minutes to put it all back together.
What Jeanne has written here is absolutely correct. We'll take small steps forward. We'll lament and shake our fists at the sky when we don't get everything we want right off the bat (or in some cases, ever... I harbor no illusions that student loan debt will ever be canceled beyond the existing means. And that's important for me to think on as I start my PhD program in January and begin taking out more.)
The point is it's going to take some time to clean up the room.
This is an amazing post, and it really resonated with me.
I had some very vivid dreams about the paradigm shift early last year that gave a very similar message. But you have put into better words than I could probably explain.
I wrote some stuff down on my notepad after I had my dream about the paradigm shift. There was stuff in my dream about higher spiritual beings overseeing the Earth, sort of like guardians of the Earth who sit like a council watching over Earth, and they send us light energy and help. I got the impression this is all part of the big plan they have for us.
I will try and elaborate more later at some point.
Oh, I ❤️ this. In my community there are pockets of kind or angry personalities. To use your analogy of the spiral, I’ve recently felt an expansion of the kind spiral. Just an extra level of human kindness and interaction that has been missing since before the pandemic. Ex: Drove through Krispy Kreme for 2 6-packs. 1 for me and 1 to share. The manager came to the window and told me that buying the donuts that way was ridiculously expensive so she just charged me for a dozen. Moments like these are happening regularly lately.
Have bookmarked your good news sources and will sprinkle the stories around to help others tap into their heart center.
@jeanne-mayell, I find spirals comforting. Always have, but never knew why. Funny thing -- over the past few months whenever I meditate, my body often moves in a spiral, at times even increasing in circumference. Sometimes it feels like an unwinding. Whatever the reason, when my body does that, it feels purposeful.
Love this new thread Jeanne, thank you for starting it.
I appreciate not only Jeanne's thoughts, but also the responses as well.
Interesting how our world often associate spirals in a negative way in how things are described. Spiraling out of control or downward spiral. But spirals are so beautiful.
Tornadoes, hurricanes and whirlpools are beautiful spirals which produce great energy albeit often destructive force. Spirals are wondrous and are found everywhere in nature. In fact, a spiral is one of the 5 patterns in nature There are spiraling galaxies, snail shells, seashells, flowers, pinecones, a chameleon's tail, artichokes, it goes on and on.
Who doesn't love a spiral staircase!
I find myself frequently drawing spirals, usually Archimedean and Euler ones. I'm gong to change my perception of spirals.
Hummm... I am not so sure a spiral ever actually goes out of control. Perhaps beyond OUR control, but it seems rather controlled to me. Wouldn't an out of control spiral end up ceasing to be a spiral?
You know, I might just go on a spiral hunt in my own back yard.
@jeanne-mayell Your observation about the spiral growth in our collective well-being resonates deeply with me. Our human nature wants progress to move boldly ahead in a straight line, like an arrow shooting from a bow. Yet that’s not how natural growth patterns work and sometimes change is imperceptible. I’ve felt that the disturbing changes in Texas that restrict voting rights and limit women’s control over their own bodies are going to resonate throughout the country in the next elections. I felt it first impacting the California recall attempt, which Newsom handily won. Now I wonder if there will have a similar effect in the Virginia governor’s race as the voters see what has happened in Texas and other GOP held states and contemplate how their own state could change under a new Republican governor.
There have been so many disturbing events this year, even though we have Joe Biden as President. The obstruction by Manchin and Sinema is depressing and it’s discouraging that we don’t see the former guy and his loyal toadies held accountable yet for the insurrection. It’s discouraging that the former guy is still using his tried and true methods of obstruction by suing to stop release of documents. Truly, the list goes on and on. It’s so disappointing to see so many Americans buying into conspiracy theories and refusing to take the life-saving vaccine. From time to time, I even wonder how on earth my own predictions about the next election can come true.
One night recently, I went to bed thinking about these disturbing events and decided to look at the Messages to Humanity from the last small group Read the Future exercise. Without fail, every single message was about hope, about perseverance and about blessings. These messages came to members of our tribe simultaneously. No two messages are completely alike and yet, the messages are full of encouragement and love. When we are down or discouraged that the spiral is not circling upward and forward as fast as we want, pause and go back to those messages. The Great Turning is unfolding as it is meant to and we have every reason to embrace hope and positivity.
Jeanne, I love this new thread. Thank you!
OOOOH, So nice to get these replies. @luminous, I meant to tag you initially, but forgot and you saw it anyway.
I decided to start this thread this morning when I read this story that is just one little positive trend, but it has some meaning for me. Most of the positive trends I have seen are in sustainability and I will get to that next. But this one is about elite college admissions practices that have in the past perpetuated unfair privilege: Amherst College cancels legacy admissions.
In many colleges, kids whose parents or grandparents attended a college are much more likely to be admitted to those colleges over kids with better grades whose parents didn't attend those colleges. This practice (known as legacy admissions) perpetuates discriminatory practices. It keeps those schools white and elite. It means that kids whose parents attended a school are favored over kids whose parents didn't.
Amherst College in Amherst, Mass, is one of those old New England prep schools that when I was young, and my kids were young, was impossible to get into. I always wondered how people I later came to know who were not that exceptional humans had been able to go there. I later learned it was due to legacy admissions. Their parents or grandparents had gone there. Eliminating legacy admissions will help redress the lack of diversity in so many competitive schools.
I remember first-hand how, analyzing the admissions data from our high school, if you were a legacy, you could have a C average and get into Boston College, but if you were not a legacy, you needed an A- average to get in. Harvard was much worse.
So I am happy about this Amherst College decision. I think it's going to be a trend.
If you are thinking that affordability is a bigger issue, I need to point out that these very well-endowed colleges (like Amherst) will fund all students whose parents cannot afford the tuition, provided the child is admitted. So dropping legacy admissions, means more kids have a fair chance of attending.
It will take many baby steps for us to move towards the more beautiful world we all know is possible. This is just one. But it matters.
I hear readers thinking that free higher eduction is much more important and this is not that. I realize there are huge barriers for kids to get the grades and scholastic skills to be admitted to some of these schools. @enkasongwriter had a vision that there would be free higher education in the U.S., and then posted a partial hit about that.
Another piece of good news. We have had great success over the decades of being able to get dwindling species to rebound when we take the right steps. Here is just one example:
America is winning the battle against overfishing. 84 fish stocks are rebounding.

Bluebelle, I grabbed your key points because you are onto what I'm seeing: that change can be imperceptible until there is a sudden sea-change. And that nature doesn't actually move/evolve in a straight line. It evolves in a spiralic line. That is because, as you will see from the linked article below, the spiral is the most efficient way for energy to move.
Take slavery which began in 1619, with little change until the mid 1800's, and then a huge change in the 1860's. After 1865, we've seen horrific racism in this country, and with all the police killings of people of color, many think there has been no progress. Progress is spiralic, however. We seem to be back where we started at times, but stepping back, anyone can see that we have moved forward.
A spiral is a circle that moves forward. That's how the planet moves, how water goes down a drain, how hurricanes and cyclones move, how embryos grow, how galaxies are formed. And I believe that human thought also evolves in a spiral.
When we observe change, we oversimplify what we are seeing. We get into all-or-nothing thinking, and we also focus more on the negative.
We think we've gone backwards with the voting restrictions and the Texas abortion bans, the conspiracy theories abounding over the vaccine, Black Lives Matter, and Critical Race Theory.
We feel like we're back where we started, i.e, that we've come full circle. But we are not back where we started. We elected Biden and saw a Congressional sweep. So much has changed already.
So it looks like we have gone in a circle, that we are right back where we started. But we are not where we started. That circle is moving forward. Spirals are circles that move forward.
In the linked article by blogger Sam Woolfe, he points out that spirals are the most efficient way for energy to move. The spiral staircase is the most efficient way to get from one floor to the next. So there's an underlying physics to this movement. I am suggesting that human thought is also evolving in a spiral.
I think that my 2014 vision that showed how we as a collective moved toward the pandemic and will move towards a new paradigm, was following a spiral.
Here is the article by Sam Woolfe: Why do spirals exist everywhere in nature?
That is really fascinating what you say about spirals.
It's funny how there is so many clues all around us as you described.
I see spirals also when I receive reiki from someone.
Speaking of galaxies etc as per the link you provided, I wonder if we will ever find out white holes really exist (The opposite of black holes)?
I noticed that Jane Goodall, the great primatologist, is also quite optimistic about the earth, and this is coming from someone who has been so concerned about the loss of habitat and biodiversity throughout her long career. Her four reasons for hope: (1) the amazing human intellect; (2) the resilience of nature; (3) the power of young people; and (4) the indomitable human spirit. I love this! https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-solutions/2021/10/19/jane-goodall-book-climate-change/
If anyone wants to read the article and can't due to the paywall, I will copy it for you. She is a beautiful human with a great spirit. She is 87!
@jeanne-mayell I love this....and like so many here I've always been fascinated by spirals. Thank you for tagging me. I love reading all the replies! And yes...Jane Goodall is a beautiful human that gives me hope.
The vortex/spiral discussion is fascinating and intriguing, and I will read all of it later, but I need to point out that Nassim Haramein is not a physicist or any other kind of qualified scientist; he is at best a pseudo-scientist, but I won't go further because I don't want to drag the discussion down. Please do a bit of checking on his real background before using him as a source for anything more complicated that gin rummy.
@jeanne-mayell I just read the Jane Goodall interview in the Washington Post link and this jumped out at me especially:
Q: You write in the book that you feel that you have been personally guided by a higher intelligence.
A: I don’t know what to call this higher being, but I feel it very much in the forest, this deep spiritual connection. I love it that so many top scientific brains that have also come to this conclusion that there is an intelligence behind the universe. Einstein was one. Francis Collins, the Director of NIH, who unraveled the human genome, started as an agnostic and ended up being convinced that there is a higher being.
She talks about the spiritual energy in forests! Holy cow. We talk about this all the time as well as higher spiritual powers and beings.
I followed Haramein a number of years ago because intuitively his vision of how things worked fit how thought evolves. He never spoke about the evolution of thought, but I see how his vision of physics fits.
He was the first to bring in ancient discoveries to the discussion, as did Isaac Newton in his day. He's been debunked by conventional physicists who also debunk anyone who deviates from convention. Conventional scientists also debunked Rupert Sheldrake and anyone who writes about psychic science. Marconi who invented the wireless communication was also widely ridiculed and debunked in his day for being an amateur, until his theories were put into practice.
Sometimes we need people outside the conventional spheres to break us out of the conventional thinking. Haramein's ideas have been helpful to the discussion, even if conventional physicists don't like him. Perhaps just read the main part of the discussion and leave Haramein out of it since he is not essential although his vision has been good. It was his idea that sparked my own hypothesis regarding how collective movements evolve.
@jeanne-mayell I just read the Jane Goodall interview in the Washington Post link…

I love this. Thank you for it. I had hoped when I started this thread that this amazing community would take it further. So awesome.
