So unk p, the forum class clown, started a lounge. Cool! ?
Thank you for asking about me. I got really, really into the holidays this year. They went too darned fast.
In the spirit of sharing, I am posting my world-famous, top secret onion dip recipe. I hate to have the ingredients list finally be known, but all secrets come to light eventually.

ONION DIP
One 16 oz container sour cream
One package onion soup mix
Stir and refrigerate.
Further instructions:
Place three tablespoons of prepared dip in a bowl. Crush ruffled chips of any flavor on top of the dip and gently fold into the dip until thoroughly mixed. Eat with a spoon. ? ?
No, and no pardons, either! ?
I mean, it works, right? No different than dipping a chip into the dip! And less messy; it's in a bowl.
My husband dips Doritos in. Leaves a gross bloody orange trail. I've been making him take his own bowl and that way I don't have to worry about his unconscious double-dipping.
@polarberry Exactly! It works, it's less messy, and it prevents double dipping! That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! ;-)
I haven't done it that way for years, mainly because I don't keep chips or dip in the house (because I would eat them if I had them!), but using ruffled chips is very important because they're generally thicker and more robust so they don't turn to powder or get soggy in the dip. See?! There's science behind my (poor) eating habits! ?
I support science!
That's funny, me too. I'm not a big chip eater and we usually only make dip at holiday time. I didn't grow up in a diphouse. My mom didn't like it and rarely made it, and my husband used to make it all the time when we first married, but fell out of doing it. I think we made more dip this season than we have in a long time. I do like it, in moderation, on fresh veggies. We've been alternating between ranch and onion.
@polarberry See, sure veggies are good for you, but they're really just vehicles for transporting dip into your mouth, aren't they? Sort of like cake; it's good, but the purpose of cake is to hold the icing so you don't get it on your fingers. ;-)
The secret gourmet recipe ...?
Now you will never be able to bottle it and sell it on Amazon!
Here's another little secret ... add habanero salsa and lime, forget the onion soup mix, and try shredded fresh onion... ?️
(Verrrry yummy with any kind of chips ... )
@unk-p, I just saw that cool raven pic you posted under "The Great Unraveling..." thread. Funny thing -- before I saw that photo, I was planning to post the attached video addressed to you, with the caption "Calling unk-p! Calling unk-p! You're wanted on The Rooftop Revolving Lounge!"
