Hey, guys. Do you believe in fairies? I do. And here is a NY Times article to prove they really exist.

A Footpath in England, Torn Down, Keeps Being Rebuilt by ‘Fairies’ https://www.nytimes.com/2023/10/31/world/europe/norfolk-fairy-bridge-uk-national-trust.html

A small bridge in the English village of Stiffkey, northeast of Cambridge, was dismantled last year. It was rebuilt overnight, dismantled a second time and rebuilt again.

The bridge enables people to visit the incredbly beautiful salt marshes, but The National Trust, which now owns the land, decided the bridge wasn't safe so they dismantled it. But the local people weren't having their path to paradise and bird watching get taken down for "safety" reasons. And neither were the fairies.

After the bridge was dismantled in February 2022, a replacement one was erected one night in July. Mr. Curtis explained that fairies, long thought to have lived in the salt marshes, were to thank. Weeks later, the National Trust took it down, saying the Crown Estate and Natural England called it dangerous, in what Mr. Curtis described as a dawn raid. A second makeshift bridge appeared soon after.

Here is the original and the fairy bridge. I like the fairy bridge better.

@jeanne-mayell I have friends that I sometimes kayak with through those marshes on the intercoastal. I love those days, and the hikes we take on the barrier islands that are nature preserves here. It's most fun on a warm spring, winter or fall day, when the average local is at work and not on the waterways. Occasionally there have been days here or there we find ourselves on one of the islands by ourselves, like castaways. I love the peaceful feelings. I also believe in fairies, and am glad to see they are at work in the world. When I worked in as a teacher assistant in the second grade, I relished the annual field trip we took to the local aquarium here, located on between the marshes and the beach. We'd take the kids on a hike to nature's nursery in the marshes, and I was often one of the few non-aquarium adults to wade in the water with the kids to show them the juvenile fish, baby crabs, baby shrimp. We'd search for raccoon and deer tracks, shells, and shark teeth. I enjoyed trying to instill in them the value of keeping our estuaries, intercoastal, and marshes clean and intact.

@cindy ah, I so get it.  I can imagine you giving those little kids such a good time, a time of wonder. What a great teacher you must have been for those kids. I too  love kayaking in the shallows where you can look down into the wonder world beneath the surface!

BREAKING NEWS    THE BEATLES new song is released today!  The voice of John Lennon, found on a tape in Yoko Ono's closet, was combined with another recording of George Harrison playing guitar. Ringo and Paul joined in, to create what is probably the very last new Beatles song.

You know what to do-  Crank it up, and scream like a 13 year old girl!!!

THE BEATLES NOW AND THEN

I have listened to Now and Then a number of times since @unk-p posted it.  I have also watched the video on the making of it a few more times.

I still cry.  It deeply moves me.

It is clear to me that this song was truly spirit led.   From start to finish.  There are so many lessons fand golden threads for us to grasp here.

First thread, John had to be led to do the demo when he did as he died within a few short years of making it.

Second thread, Paul and Yoko had to have kept a decent relationship since  she was led to send him the tape after speaking with him on the phone one day 15 years after John passed.

Third thread, the first (and failed) attempt to make a recording of the song in the mid-1990's had to happen then because George would be gone a few years later. He was able to record some parts and offer suggestions on how the song could flow.

Fourth thread, it needed to be finished before Paul and Ringo passed away but the technology didn't get invented to lift John's voice off the original tape until just now.   Somehow, everyone listened to that "tap on their shoulder " spirit gave when needed to listen and act.

Last thread, the words, melody and arrangement, I believe it was meant for the time we are living right now. Meant to be a healing song too.

The Beatles broke up. but they made one last song together and it was created with a very sweet love.

Now and Then, I miss you...

This was a pleasant surprise!!

Do you remember the Chili's jingle "I Want My Baby Back ( Baby back- baby back) Ribs?"

Come on, you know you are now singing it in your head now right???

Well, back in the day when it came out (early to mid 2000's I think) Boyz To Men was thought to be the singers of the jingle because they were really popular at the time and they sounded a lot like the actual singers of the jingle. They weren't the singers though but the jingle became iconic.

We all sang it in our homes right?  Hard not to think of Chili' s or ribs without singing the song.

Well, flash forward MANY years and Chili's just came out with a new commercial with that famous jingle.  AND with Boyz to Men singing it.

It is so fun to watch!!!!

If you remember the jingle, I bet you will be smiling by the time the commercial  finishes.  I know I was.

P.S.  I just passed a Chili's this weekend with my daughter and we commented that we hadn't been in there for YEARS.  Something tells me we aren't the only ones.  Wonder how much their menu may have changed...or stayed the same?  Anyone been there in the last year or two?  Do they even offer anything sorta healthy to eat?  haha

As many of you may remember, when heading to the transplant center this past August we stopped first (with my daughters) at the Pink concert in Detroit.  It was a wonderful night that solidified my love of her even more as she’s an unparalleled performance artist.

Whelp, our girl topped herself: https://people.com/pink-give-away-banned-books-florida-tour-stops-8401409

I could not love her harder.

@cindy she inspires me to do more even though I’m a tiny drop of blue in the deepest red you can imagine here in Northern Michigan.

@lovendures when I read your post it reminded me of a program that was on back in 2013 and 2014 that was called something like The Best Funerals.  It was based on a funeral home in Dallas Texas that did elaborate funerals for people.  One of the funerals was for William "Willy" McCoy who was the original singer of the baby back rib song.  The casket was built to look like a smoker, they served ribs and had a barbecue sauce fountain to dip the ribs in.  Some would say it was a very tacky show.  Probably why it was only on for a year or so.  Thanks for the chuckle!

This is funny...and a bit odd.  hahaha. Sometimes it is good to have laughter surrounding funerals. Certainly it was memorable right?

A tiny penguin wandered onto a New Zealand airport tarmac. They scooped him up before a plane ran over it, and whisked the little guy off for human health and wellness care. He was given a complete physical, including a battery of tests, put on weight gain diet of fresh fish, and treated like the precious little guy that he is. They will keep him until his adult feathers come in then release him to the wilds.

Turns out he's not the only wild animal to frequent airports.  Here's the rundown from the Washington Post:

"The penguin is the newest member of a menagerie that has infiltrated airports, including musk ox, caribou, seals and moose on Alaska airfields, alligators at Orlando’s airport, diamondback terrapins at JFK in New York, wild hares at Milan’s Linate Airport and foxes at England’s Manchester Airport. In Australia, airport employees have to shoo away pesky kangaroos. Last February, an Air New Zealand pilot screeched to a halt after landing at Dunedin Airport to make way for a hedgehog."

I think the animals know we need their help. See!  This story already lifted my spirits today.
