I am being treated for it but it’s not enough.

I believe you, it isn't enough. It sounds like you could benefit from having someone to talk to every day for a while, in addition to whatever other treatment you are getting. If you are not on medication already, you might consider it to help you cope until the worst is over. A good life-coach could also supplement the work of a therapist.

You must be strong or you wouldn't have been able to tolerate this as long as you have. Please tell those around you that you need more help and please do it immediately. I think a cognitive approach (self-talk type stuff) could help you in the mix of options. Your mental and emotional well-being is paramount; please be aggressive about getting the help that you need.  Until then, tonight, tell yourself that post-partum depression by its very definition, will depart, and then tomorrow start shaking the bushes

Sending love and light..

An update on my friend's daughter that I posted about a few months ago (she had flu that went to her heart and caused myocarditis.) She was released from the PICU yesterday and is now on the cardio floor, continuing to heal and get stronger! Thank you all, again, for contributing to the light and healing that came her way.

I second what everyone else here has said, especially @raincloud above. Be aggressive about getting the help you need. You mention being treated already, but it isn't working. Tell that to your doctor immediately. There is no need to continue to suffer if what had been working before is not now. Maybe there is a short-term med adjustment that can be made?

I know how it feels to have people tell you to ask those around you for help or step up, etc., but to also feel like that won't happen because of circumstances (no family around, other stressors that make it feel like you have to do it all, etc.) So be straightforward, tell those around you that you need help and be aggressive in contacting your doctor to tell them directly how bad you are feeling. You are worth it! You need to get back to a place of balance (in your head) so that you are *able* to deal with the stressful situations in your life without feeling desperate.

Much love and peace coming your way!

Just to double-down on that:

I know what it can be like to feel totally overwhelmed and depressed.  In that condition you may not feel you have the energy to get super- aggressive with your doctors.  But at least you can try to get your husband to be aggressive on your behalf with the doctor.  The doctor might even take him more seriously.

I think most men just don't understand how hard it is. (And how can they, unless we tell them?)  I know my husband didn't understand.  Later on he realized how badly he had handled things and expressed  regret.

If I'd just told him straight out and aggressively that I was losing it, that I had to have help and no matter how hard he thought he had to work at his job, the mental and physical health of his wife and child had to come first, I think he would have come around.

@cc21 Thank you for updating us.  I am so glad she is healing. What an ordeal for her parents (and for her).  Prayers that she keeps on healing.

Tonight I am feeling a bit stunned.

My child called me and we had a long talk.

I had begun to resign myself to our estrangement.

Big surprise. That was years of carrying a boulder. I feel lighter.

I am proud of her. I am a mom again.

@ghandigirl

I was estranged from both my parents for years. (fault on both sides) The birth of my first child allowed us to work things out. There were still problems along the way from time to time, but I am eternally grateful things turned out as they did.

I don't know all the details of your story, but that is wonderful. I hope you both can build on the love that is there. ❤️

Hi, I am new to the forum but have been reading it for a long time.  Please pray for 5 year old Zohaib who nearly drowned on a Cape Cod this weekend. He’s in critical care in Boston, Mass and needs healing to his brain. His outlook doesn’t look bright but prayer may help.

thank you!

@smacgoldstein84 I want to second this request.  I know about this situation and it will take a prayer miracle to save this child. If our community can send our incredible healing to him,  perhaps we can help with that miracle, if it is meant to be.  I am sending angels to his side to help revive his brain and whole body to full health.
