@jeanne-mayell thank you for your prayers.

She just went to a local hospital for the infection not a teaching hospital. They have discharged her for now and put her on strong antibiotics. She is still quite poorly but they don't think it is sepsis now.

The biospies themselves were for suspected Sjogrens Syndrome at a private hospital (She has health insurance at her job which she can take advantage of to fast track tests/treatment). She has the same rare bleeding disorder as me which is like hemophilia, so she doesn't heal very well after surgical procedures, so we think this might be why it has become infected.

I'm not sure whether its something you are seeing or not, but I am the one under a university hospital for various different ailments.

@jeanne-mayell Film has come along way with guns. Did you hear the story about the 1939 movie "Public Enemy" with James Cagney? In the final scene. Cagney is going out in the open, and a sharp shooter was using live bullets shooting to miss Cagney so the bullets could be seen hitting close to him.

Also I finally got to take to Gordons sister. She said he is paralyzed from the chest down. They won't know anything for at least six months. Please pray for him. Thank you.

Hello, dear All. I've been keeping myself offline and very small-focused and local and centered on "inner" - my inner needs, only the most important people and things inside my circle. But I'm selfishly popping in to ask for some light to be sent to my son, H., from anyone who might be willing to raise him up a bit.

The covid year really knocked him out of his orbit. He went from Honors Program, Dean's List, leading his team, loving everything about college his freshman and sophomore years to losing everything in the past 18 months. He's depressed, off the team, dropped three of his four classes this semester, lost his athletic and academic scholarships, and truly has no idea what he's doing. Four month ago, he had a plan, now he has nothing.

I told him my priority would be for him to find someone to talk to, sent him a list of local therapists who are in our insurance coverage, and told him I wanted him to call every single one until he found one taking new patients. (He did; the earliest he can see someone is three weeks from now.) Then I said he needs to talk to his coach, find out what his options are, and make decisions based on what he needs to do to be well and get through this semester and then next, what should be his last. He is so close to the end, and I don't want to see him completely lose his way just months from graduation.

This is a kid who has succeeded, was labeled "gifted," worked hard, been goal-focused, and was seemingly "golden" his entire life. Everything that happened in the past year and a half was too much for him to know how to handle, and he let it get too far away from him before telling us because he didn't want to let us down and kept hoping he could "get it together" and fix it. But now it's too late and he doesn't know what to do.

Any good, supportive, loving, wise, healing energy would be so appreciated right now. I'm truly worried about him; he doesn't know how to fail and lose his way, and he's just lost the sport that he loves more than anything, and all the plans and dreams and goals that he'd set for himself for college, right near the finish line. It breaks my heart.

Thanks <3

It is a global understanding in this thread in particular the "like" button is an acknowledgement that light is headed in the direction it's requested :-)

Prayers and light @Saibh

Thank you to everyone who sent their prayers and support recently.

The doctors now believe my sister caught a hand, foot and mouth virus on top of her mouth infection and this is why her recovery has been complicated. In the UK, there does appear to be quite a lot of this virus going round at the moment. But for now she remains on strong antibiotics and it may be a few more day before the virus goes away.

We are all very grateful that this is not sepsis or anything more serious, so we really do count our blessings after everything that's been going on lately.

On a side note, I am not sure if I have mentioned it before, but when anyone here sends light to me and my family, I nearly always see big white flashes of light right near to my face. I'm assuming that this is normal?? ??

@saibh I am so sorry to hear what a tough time your son is having.  A friend of mine who is an administrator of 18 medical clinics told me recently that the mental health specialists are stretched to the limit because of the pandemic.  Your dear son is not alone in his suffering and he should understand that he’s not a failure or a disappointment to you in any way.  I’m glad he will get help soon and I can understand your worry.  I am sending you both protection during this difficult period. I’m sending your son healing and understanding.  Going through this experience is tough, but it will make him stronger.  This will teach him about persevering during hard times and give him understanding and compassion for others who struggle.  I feel your deep love and worry for him.  I wish I could show you just how dramatically this situation can turn around because I believe it will.  In the meantime, though, I send protection and ask higher powers to surround your son and keep him safe.  There are better days ahead.  Much love to you and yours.

@luminous Actually, I saw her not you. I felt she had what she needed, and it sounds like she was okay to go home. But I was also getting the feeling that she should seek help at a state-of-the-art hospital. I was concerned about that. If she is fine now, then great. But I would not mess around in the future with something that looks exotic and dangerous, as this did. I'd go straight to the top teaching hospitals, with the specialists and the equipment, that can respond on the spot with everything a person needs.

@jeanne-mayell thank you

Unfortunately all the teaching university hospitals are not local and for emergency care it is better to go to your nearest hospital in the UK, unless your treatment and care is under a specialist consultant already at one of the university hospitals.

As part of her journey with her health (with the recent biopsies) she has been fast tracking a lot of her treatment and care using her work's health insurance via a lot of private doctors and hospitals. She doesn't want to wait for referrals to our NHS hospitals because they take too long (she has seen that often with me) and has preferred to avoid all that. But many of the family including me have argued she should see a specialist under the NHS for all her treatment, as many of the private doctors are all too keen to force unnecessary procedures and tests for quick money. Fortunately for her bleeding disorder like mine, we made her go to my specialist haematoglist for testing, and it got her a diagnosis for that which helped her avoid further complications with other more recent surgery she has had on her gall bladder.

I don't like to criticise my sister too much, because had I had the option to go private for some of my tests I probably would have too - some of my referrals for various tests on the NHS had me on waiting lists for over 18 months even before the pandemic came along. But the difference is under the NHS it's free and it is relatively safe, and you have to go through a lot more hoops before they will do loads of tests or procedures - which can be good and bad - because the doctors are more cautious - and many of the specialists I have seen are professors or leading in their field. For her, many of the private doctors she has seen have been people who are not leading their field of work.

Anyway, I just hope she gets over what she has at the moment.

Thanks again for adding your feelings and intuition on this.

I am livid.  I am absolutely LIVID right now.

I was home with a sick kiddo today (I remain fine)

My wife brought an Abbott test home from school and tested her.  She tested positive.  Second twin is now sleeping in the downstairs bedroom and we're all apparently quarantining until we can get better testing done at Meijer tomorrow.

I'm thrice vaxxed so I'm not worried about me.  Wife had two Modernas.  But we've waited all this time for vaccines for the twins, we've been so careful, we done everything right and here we are.

I have some very colorful words that I'll spare you all.  Here's hoping this is a false positive.

@dannyboy

I just sent your daughter healing energy and prayers.  I sent more prayers for the entire family as well.

May her illness be mild and peaceful.  May her everyone else, (especially the basement dweller ) remain in good health.

You have done a great job during this pandemic Dannyboy.  You  even got your 3rd vax so that is fantastic and you will be better prepared to weather this storm.  I can't help but feel that it was important for you to get that third shot and that you have been watched over very carefully until it could have a positive impact.  I am certain your whole family will continued to be watched over.

I  will continue to send lots of prayers and healing.  Peace for you also.

I'm not in California, but one of the storm systems that dumped rain on CA last week is now a full-fledged nor'easter in the Atlantic. Where I am in CT we've received 2 inches of rain since midnight, with more rain forecasted for the rest of the day. I'm not sure what it's like elsewhere. We may have to send some light to our Northeastern friends.

Light to them as well - I'd been hearing less of the east coast woes than the west coast woes.  Apologies for forgetting them!

Our COVID Update:  Four tests taken.  Our drive through testing site at our grocery store had staggered appointments so Oldest Twin and my Wife went first since they both have symptoms.  Youngest twin and myself went second since she only has a mild runny nose and I have nothing at all.

Both daughters tested positive.  My wife and I tested negative.  She and I will both test again every couple of days through next week.

Both daughters in good spirits - youngest twin in particular has next to nothing wrong with her.  Older twin is already feeling better.  But - they're going to miss the next 10 days of school (as am I!) so we're off to figure all of this out!

As for my wife and I, there is zero reason they should have it and we shouldn't.  I had a daddy/daughter date with them over the weekend and we shared food and drinks for the first time in a long while (I didn't like splitting food and sharing drinks pre-pandemic but I also wasn't buying three skillet cookies from Ruby Tuesday) Prior to our Saturday night date we also had some family fun in the evenings all last week.

Vaccines work, get yours today!

I did use the interim time between tests to run into the store and grab paper plates, cups, bowls, etc.  While not great for the earth we'll be utilizing those for the quarantine room.  I'll make amends to mother nature for it later.

Interestingly we had to go to 3 different stores for plastic silverware.  A new shortage!
