Trump is protected by the people who Paul Ryan and other GOP leaders work for - the Kochs, estimated net worth $100 billion. The Mercers are protecting Trump too, and I sense Russian oligarchs also involved (Putin is worth $200 billion).
Every time I read that Paul Ryan says he won't be allowing legislation which would prevent Trump from firing Mueller, I know in my heart that Ryan is following direct orders from his donors, mainly the Koch's. I also sense the powerful influence of the Russian oligarch network that keeps Trump in power and also prevents Mueller's full expose. As I said, Putin is twice as rich as the Koch's.
This powerful oligarch backing also probably explains why we have a ways to go before progressives get back the U.S. federal government. I still don't know if there will ever be a real U.S. president again.
Regardless of what happens, I still see a powerful progressive, grass roots wave in this country. We shall overcome. We shall overcome. Let by the youth, they create their own futures in spite of the GOP and the oligarchs. But we might not continue to be a union of states, I don't know about that yet. For a system to fully change and move into a new paradigm, it may have to break apart and reassemble, but this is not a prediction, just an understanding of how profound change works. I can feel young people creating the future, and they aren't going to be embracing the old ways.
I think that when we have a female president, which the majority of us predicted on 2024, we will have a real president. Many saw that by 2019 we will have a Democrat house and a Republic senate. I think that even if Trump doesn't get impeached, he will lose 2020 to a moderate Democrat. I think that after 2020, there will be a strong progressive movement.
Interesting. But if we are not a union of states, it may be easier for Putin to take us over.
Meanwhile, might we allow Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Mississippi to become the haven for the conservatives that are way out
there and leave th3 rest of the country to those of us who are more aware? ?

They did a poll here in Oklahoma recently, and Trump got an 80% approval rating. I told my daughter, and she said it was Oklahoma's fault that Trump's national rating is 40%. I hate living in a red state.
