I came across this article this past week. Â It nicely lays out the hierarchy that conservatives embrace, and is clear about how it is that Christians in particular have embraced a man who is clearly not Christian in beliefs or actions.
I find it troublesome, because I don't see a way to up-end this hierarchy without violence ensuing.

Very educational, Laura, it explains a lot.
I think it also explains why progressives often find many conservatives irrational. For example, there are conservatives who self-identify as staunch Christians but in practice do not follow Jesus' teachings (e.g. they favor punishment over compassion, arrogance over humility, etc).
