@blackandwhite You are right. The Republican agenda is driven by billionaires whose agenda is autocracy not democracy. We have to vote them out of office. That is possible with a lot of grass roots activism. They are a minority party. We must help everyone to vote who is eligible to vote.
@jeanne-mayell. I like how he addressed the struggle between democracy and autocracy in the speech. He has a deep grasp of what is really happening and all the undercurrents no one ever talks about. It’s deeply comforting to me.
@lowtide I love that you noticed that. I was awed by his speech. I posted right afterwards on the Revolving Rooftop thread:
Climbing up here on the roof on this beautiful night.
OMG, Joe Biden tonight!
He was so humble and he spoke to us in a whisper, like a spirit guide speaking into our hearts, to our consciences. I teared up a few times. A friend commented that she didn't think it was possible to feel cared for by our government. He really really cares, doesn't he.
So I know tonight that for a little while I can sit back and look up at the stars. He's got this.
@blackandwhite @enkasongwriter I love what you noticed about the speech. What a breath of fresh air for all of us.
@jeanne-mayell, @blackandwhite, @enkasongwriter, @lowtide,
I was feeling out of sorts yesterday, and then I heard Biden's speech. I loved it. So much empathy and compassion. Confidence with humility. Hopeful. Healing. You could almost hear a collective exhale.
@jeanne-mayell, I also looked up at the stars last night. And at that big beautiful moon. I saw it from my deck, as I was listening to Biden's speech. In that moment I felt comforted. And I retired for the night, smiling.
My brain started to turn your Revolving Roof comment into a little poem, and I knew I wouldn't get it out of my head until I wrote it all down. So here's the finished product:
Climbing up here on this beautiful night,
OMG, Joe Biden tonight!
He was so humble as he spoke in hushed tones,
Like a spirit guide speaking into our hearts, to our souls.
I teared up and a companion remarked
She thought compassion would never emerge from DC.
(Uncle Joe really, really cares, doesn't he?)
So I know tonight I can sit back and laugh
with the stars and planets.
They have us in their hands.
? ?
@coyote Ha, ha, ha. I love it!
A lot of Californians have also moved next door to Arizona, which is turning more blue despite having ridiculous state legislators making majorly idiotic decisions.
Speaking of which - when are y'all gonna recall Sinema?
She is a more than a pain in the rear.
She appears to have a total disregard for any decorum and is living in her own bubble. The only thing positive I can say about there is her advocacy on Native American affairs. And how she handled Jan 6th.
She needs to go.
Gotta give an "Atta Girl" to Liz Chaney for standing up to and calling out the Kool-Aid Kids for spreading the "Big Lie" ...telling it like it is.. she has more integrity and gumption in her little finger than in all their bodies.
A year ago, the user @pikake posted a video of an Andean spiritual leader named Antocal Nesdi delivering a message from Spirit about the role of light workers during the pandemic and this time of "catharsis." I rarely watch videos online, and this one really resonated with me. Unfortunately, the video was pulled from the web last summer.
Recent forum contributions from @luminous and @bluebelle got me thinking about that video again. I searched on YouTube and, tah-dah!, the video of Antocal Nesdi's message is back online (albeit hidden). Here's the link to the video. I'd highly recommend it to everyone here.
