Hello, all, thank you for this thread, much appreciated.

My 14 year old boy, Sparky, is doing well for his age. He has a bit if arthritis, he gets the benign fatty masses on his body (all over) and skin lumps and bumps. The main concern is a cough we haven’t been able to diagnose after multiple vets, multiple tests, it’s still a mystery cough.

The tests did reveal a mass on his liver, thought to be benign by it’s texture. Because of his age,  the plan is to keep him as comfortable as possible and not subject him to a surgery that may or may not help.

Right now he seems okay, just slowing down. He still likes to go for rides, short walks, and plays with his toys a bit every now and then. I’m very blessed to have him in my life, he’s the best friend ever.

My question is, do you see anything I can do to make Sparky more comfortable now and in the future? …and, how will I know when his discomfort is too much and it’s time to let him cross the rainbow bridge? I don’t want my desire to have him with me keep me from knowing when it’s time 😢

(I’m not seeing how to upload a picture of Sparky but I will keep looking.)
