I have a weird feeling Sessions is in trouble too... although Stephen Miller is his minion... can we scan and throw cards? His actions aren’t helping him plus Trump wants him gone. And the deadline for Rosenstein to get stuff to Congress is Friday.
He is of course a bigot and doesn’t deserve sympathy but I’m getting some feelings he’s in deep doo doo.
Zoron, thanks for getting the ball rolling with reading some of the players. Your analysis of Nielsen feels right, and inspires me to throw cards on her, as well as Melania and Ivanka. So here goes:
Nielsen: I got that she feels utterly defeated right now. She was just following orders when she denied there was a policy of child separation. She reads as someone way over her head in that job. And not surprising, I got The Tower (16th Trump card) which is the part of the soul's journey when everything feels like it is crashing and burning. It never pays to lie for Trump because Trump himself or someone else in his administration is likely to tell a different story and leave you with egg on your face. Nielsen had announced there was no policy to separate children. Period. But wait, Sessions said separating the children was an intentional Administration decision. She tried to recover from the lie with technical speech, waxing on about all the good things she does for immigrants, but the Internet has not been kind. Her cards read as someone whose psyche is fragmented in a million disconnected pieces. I also see that same kind of personality fragmentation in Ivanka and Melania, although those two seem at the moment to be comfortable with this policy. They don't think about the children.
Melania: I don't think the statement she issued about being heartbroken came from her. When I ask how she feels in general, I get she feels like a miserable failure right now. But when I ask how she feels about the young children torn from their parents, I get nothing. I get that she's gone into a bubble with her and her kid, and herself as a fashion icon life. She sees herself as an object. Inside she's sad and lonely, but she gets so much life purpose in being admired that she doesn't visit with her true self.
Ivanka: When I ask how Ivanka is feeling, I see her turned inward and hidden, like she's hiding some darkness. Like Nielsen, Ivanka has segmented parts of her psyche from her Self, except the walls she's constructed in her psyche are much thicker. On the one hand -- she feels her environment is changing, getting more treacherous, and her father keeps blindsiding her. She posted a cute Father's Day statement on social media about Jared and their children, and then got attacked for her insensitivity to the plight of immigrant children, including one 28 year old father who killed himself after being torn from his child. She doesn't feel she can go against her father yet she ends out bearing the consequences for his policies. When I ask how she feels about the children being separated at the border, I get that she feels nothing for them. Nothing. She wishes they'd go away. She finds the whole issue oppressive and doesn't want to deal with it. Then I pause and read her again, and I get a different person. Calm, at peace, gliding around in haut couture, an icon of motherhood and feminine beauty.
Rosieheart - are people gathering at the Broadway site or the Lemon Grove site or both?
I will try to go too - any idea what time?
Laura, I just this minute returned from the El Cajon site. There was a small group of 4 people protesting and they were welcoming when I showed up. It doesn't seem to be organized by a specific group (at least everyone I talked to while I was there said they just showed up on their own because they were upset). Unfortunately, my dog is not feeling well, so I couldn't stay long, but I plan to go back on Thursday and over the weekend, I will take my entire family.
I do not think anyone is protesting at the Lemon Grove site. That site seems to be flying beneath the radar. It's odd that the only sites they've allowed the media to access are the ones with boys. I don't know for sure, but my hunch is that they think that showing young males reinforces the administration's suggestion that all of these kids are MS-13 gang members and rapists.
There is also going to be a protest in downtown San Diego at the Civic Center this weekend. Here is the information on that - please share it with other people if you feel so inclined. I don't know anything about the group organizing it. https://www.facebook.com/events/205550016926317/
I don't know which is better - to protest at the facility or join the larger protest march. Maybe both. Since the facility is right in my daughter's neighborhood, I kind of feel pulled to be there so that people who live in the area are made aware of what is happening, but a larger group protest elsewhere is probably worthwhile too.
I asked someone I met this morning if it would be possible to bring toys, clothes, or some special treats to the facility for the children and she said that they won't accept anything.
Jeanne and Zoron,
By any chance, did either of you read Donald Trump this morning as well? When I was watching his speech at the Business Association meeting, I had a strange experience. For a second, I had a sense that his face was rippling and unraveling while he was talking. His rhetoric during that speech seemed to be amped up to new levels, which made me feel that his mental state may be at the breaking point.
So, I am curious what others may be seeing or sensing about his current state of mind.
I think he has been going off the deep end since yesterday. I am waiting for him to fall off the cliff.
I also read today that this is how he is paying back those that donated from private prisons/incarceration centers
Exactly Brandy! This is a hateful policy, but it's also about who can make money from it.
RosieHeart's description sounds just like Voldemort.
I saw an interview this morning with Gayle King of CBS This Morning. They aren't feeding the children as they should. A young man of 14, 15, said he only got apples and water to eat.
Greetings all. I've been here, reading, for a while.

A musical Evening Prayer for these children tonight. My mom sang this to us as a lullaby. It is from the Hansel and Gretel opera by Englebert Humperdink. The brother and sister sing it together when they are lost in the woods. I know my mom is watching over these precious souls tonight- as many, many of us are.
R1- heads up, that link is broken.
Thanks, Laura:

The pinned post at the top of her twitter page contains the list of resources. Her team is putting together a spreadsheet which will be posted shortly. I'll port that link here when it arrives.
R1 <who is thinking very long thoughts about the Occupation of Norway by Nazis, and how disappointed her father would be that emigrating did not keep his child safe from Fascism--and wondering if her father had arrived in the US today, if she would have been ripped from his arms at Ellis Island>
Brandy, Perfect.
Jeanne, thanks for the predictions re the Monsters on Trumps staff. I had got exactly the same insights as you, regarding his spokeswomen. She is coming apart at the seams. I think she will have a break down or worse. Trump has made a serious mistake here. Let us see what happens.
What a difference a day makes...it;'s been fascinating to see the turn around today from DT and other republicans repudiating this atrocious policy.
Last night was too much, and I've never seem news reporteRs literally break down reporting (Rachel Maddow) that now famous AP article about the babies or "tender age children" in camps. Thank you brave reporters, lawyers, volunteers, first ladies, and all the people going on TV speaking truth to power. This is what democracy looks like, we the people.
