I was not sure where to post this, but wanted to share. I am in Jeanne's current Intuitive Way class and have been enjoying the Tarot (Thoth deck.) I have not been having much luck with inner visioning, so I went back to a good old Tarot read this morning (nice, quiet Sat. morning...had time to clear my mind and meditate.) I have been shuffling, then spreading them out and pulling cards with my left hand (non-dominant) as has been suggested with the thought that it is easier to have your intuition come through that way.
I pulled some really interesting things and wanted to share -- see if anyone else gets a sense of this as well?
FIRST ROUND - pulled three cards as follows:
Question - what will we see in July re: Trump? 7 of swords - Futility
My take is that the swords are pointing inwards at the main sword. Things will continue to pile up for Trump and pin him down, holding him accountable or making for no escape.
Question - what we will see in July re: COVID? 4 wands - Completion
My take is that there is an increase in peace and strength regarding COVID; a balance of forces indicating solid ground and leading towards a "victory" of sorts - possibly a treatment or progress towards vaccine?
Question - what will we see in July re: state of the collective? 9 wands - Strength
My take is that the sunshine is very bright! Things are looking up. We are coming full-circle after the stress of the last few months and are regrouping and ready for a fight re: the Nov. election. The wands appear to be shielding us from the background image (which reminds me of COVID) The moon at the bottom seems small and so perhaps the "unknowns" about things are shrinking?
SECOND ROUND:
I generally never think of Pence, but had seen Pence on the news this morning so he was on my mind.
Question: More clarity on Pence?
Queen of Disks - when I saw him on the news, it struck me that he is so much more articulate than Trump and that is what is so scary about him. He sounds like he has it all under control and is "right". That appeals to their base, I am sure. Thinking of him in regards to the Queen of disks, I see him as feeling like he has it under control and is solid. However, the ram on the card had its head cocked sideways and was looking at me...sort of looked just like Pence! Dark, direct...
Chariot
I usually like this card, so I was not thrilled to pull it for Pence. The mandala in the center caught my eye. Again, the thought came to me that he feels like he is grounded (more than Trump, perhaps?) and in control. Holding the power of the mandala.
The Tower
Wow! This was interesting. I feel like Pence will fall with the rest when everything comes tumbling down for this administration. I know people are concerned that if Trump leaves then Pence is in charge. I feel like he will go down, too. The all-seeing eye on the card is covering everything (including the dove of peace.) It will shine a light on *everything* and justice will prevail.
THIRD ROUND:
Question: More info on the Collective?
Completion - 4 wands
The green in the card struck me. Lots of creative energy and a balance of forces. Solid, strong. Perhaps some solutions are coming to the collective that bring balance and strength?
Knight of Disks
Rest after a long battle! Again, COVID in my mind - the knight appears to be looking forward with hope. The wheat is showing me abundance. Cultivation and reaping what has been worked on. So again, perhaps some hope on the struggles of recent months (in particular with COVID? or even with Trump?)
The Hierophant
A teacher is coming? Bringing light and wisdom to the collective. I don't know if this is someone new, or if someone in the news rises up (Biden?) and strengthens, but I see it as a very hopeful sign for the collective.
FOURTH ROUND:
Finally, I thought I would pull some cards on Trump, specifically (after having done Pence.)
Question: More info on Trump in July
4 swords - Truce
Again, I see the swords having him pinned down. He is trying to negotiate (truce), but there is too much there.
4 disks - Power
Show of strength came to mind. I am not sure if he will try to do something big to show his strength? The arena/fortress on the card was prominent to me and made me think he will try to hide/barricade himself somewhere as things fall apart. But looking at it, I saw "no escape" and the moat surrounding him. Things are really closing in now,
The Tower
I almost fell off my chair when I pulled this as the third card for Trump, too! The fire-breathing mouth at the bottom caught my eye and made me think that it is burning him and his administration to the ground.
Whew! If you made it this far - thank you! I will work in spurts, so when I am on a roll, I keep pulling and things build on each other, so it makes for a lengthy read. Overall, I thought it especially intriguing that I pull the Tower card for both Pence and Trump. I think that is very significant and gives me hope for the month of July.
I welcome anyone else's interpretations and if any of this resonates with you, please let me know! Thanks!
Wow! What am amazing reading. From your cards and hands and may it all be so.
Regretting my not having a deck of real cards or the knowledge or even classes. Something always too tight in me to do more than play with my very old used so much by others medicine cards i was given.
Loved loved my readings of the The Emerald Books of Thoth but that Thoth deck seems weird and scary to me (past life?) and i know how much Jeanne can others love and treasure it
But i so love reading all of you Tarot card readers' readings here.
@CC21 Great reading! All of what you said resonated with me and it sounds like you were in the zone today with your reading. The only thing that I got today during my daily meditation meshes somewhat with your info about Trump for July. I saw him locked in his room and having a tantrum in the WH and the staff trying to get the female members of his family to calm him down and get him to come out.
@jewels That people are afraid of him is a certainty. Behind closed doors where most cowards lurk, they admit that they don't want to cross him for fear he will start taunting them in public. Self before country every time. ...except Mitt Romney.
@michele-b I'm in Jeanne's current Intuitive Class and getting acquainted with the Thoth Deck now. For what it's worth, it's growing on me. In other words, the more I work with it, the more I'm appreciating it. ...in case you decide to delve into it.
Thanks so much for your replies! I am glad that this resonated with some of you. This whole process is so interesting to me - trying to discover my own "signals" or ways of intuition and what I should pay attention to in order to get information.
I agree about the Thoth deck. As Jeanne says, the imagery is so rich, but it is also a lot! It can be a bit scary at first, but if you keep an open mind and as Jeanne tells us, go with what jumps out at you (which may be very different than a "traditional" interpretation or meaning) then it can be a really great tool to help you interpret a situation/question, etc. I am finding that having a visual tool to interpret helps me. I love how different the same card can look to me, depending on what I am asking/thinking about.
@michele-b, I am also in Jeanne's current Intuitive class. Prior to the class I had very little experience and minimal interest in the Tarot. I have a Rider-Waite deck at home and it does nothing for me. Plus the process of Tarot reading just seemed too cumbersome for my aging, foggy brain to understand. In fact, I initially asked Jeanne if I could just skip the classes that address the Tarot! But I decided I was being too hard-headed, and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised how much I've resonated with it. Part of it has to do with the intuitive approach Jeanne uses in teaching the Tarot, and the other is the beautiful imagery in the Thoth cards. It might be the artist in me, or perhaps the mystical quality I find in many of the cards -- I can't really say. I just enjoy working with it.
Have you ever seen the Osho Zen tarot? The Osho Zen is a non-traditional deck of 79 cards based on the transcendental game of Zen. I own that deck but haven't worked with it yet. The imagery is those cards is quite stunning. Even the so-called "negative" cards often have a silly, yet intelligent sense of humor. In other words, we should not take every single thing so seriously and live in the moment!
