Check out the Southern Poverty Law Center, they do much more than the name suggests, including working against hate groups.

@raincloud Yes! SPLC pretty much litigated the Klu Klux Klan out of existence. Here is an article on SPLC's website about Antisemistism. https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/ideology/antisemitism
We’re watching “The Insurrectionist Next Door” documentary and there are common threads among the “patriots”: traumatic childhood experiences, crime, violence and imprisonment, cognitive disabilities, depression, low self-esteem, poverty, isolation, ignorance, undereducated.
As an educator, it’s heartbreaking to witness their clumsy pride, hypocritical and illogical arguments, and the especially excruciating bravado vs. helplessness conflict. To hear their contradictory words and witness their internal pain reminds me of adolescent triggers and responses.
I’m not excusing their crimes at all. And, it’s mind-boggling to see these lost souls attack the “liberals” who want to protect the very social programs necessary to shrink the wealth divide and elevate people so they can experience better lives. Yet, here we are still—insurrectionist’s common complaints and maladies persist alongside their bravado and hubris. In their heads, it makes sense. 💔
I'm getting the message: Pope TRUMPS trump, outranked ant outflanked.
Darkness is losing.

I read an article where the new pope is quoted as saying that Jesus is not a Superman figure, nor is he a charismatic leader. New Pope: Jesus Isn't 'Superman'
My father trained as a priest at the Catholic seminary back before Vatican II. He is very educated and understands his faith. He has some dementia so I had to explain about American Evangelicals, and how T was elected with the voters who believe the Bible is literal, and Catholicism is witchcraft and not Christian. While I was explaining, I had a "knowing" the pope was going to undercut their "power" in the States. I had the goose bumps!
Yes! This choice of Pontiff could have enormous ramifications. Five of the US Supreme Court Justices are Catholic, the VP and roughly 1.5 billion people world wide He is young-ish for a Pope and apparently unafraid to analyze politics through a moral and spiritual lens. I feel so grateful for his sacrifice; one suspects he would rather be in Peru helping the poor in a more hands on way.
It will be interesting and I hope gratifying to watch the ways in which he will use his power, bestowed both by man and spirit, for good....and as you noted @westie, undercut the dark power of others.
I don't have the link but I saw excerpts of Joe Bidens speech to the LGTQ community. He told them they should be who they are. He told them they belong, belong, belong, belong.
He is such a bright light for all of us. He often cites his father and the wisdom he learned from him.
Joe Biden who is fighting cancer still shows up to love us all.
