Paying attention to the little known .01% and .001%
Thanks for the link, iogazer. They say that the love of money is the root of all evil. I am not much of an intuitive, but my common sense tells me that, unless the electorate forces the issue, neither Congress nor the Supreme Court will ever find the will to disconnect the political process from the influence of hugely wealthy individuals whose only interest is accumulating an ever-increasing proportion of the world's wealth and resources for themselves. But if we fail to act, they will have enough wealth to, at least, temporarily insulate themselves from an inevitable disruption to the world order that will be imposed by climate change (including wars that will result from disappearing resources, starvation, drought, and migration from uninhabitable lands). We may have a chance to fix the political process, but only if our brothers and sisters realize they have been sold a bill of goods by their political leaders, turn away from the empty promises offered by both political parties, and unite behind a leader who has seen the light and has the will to resist the love of money.
