The Vaccine - Many issues to discuss

Every time I hear them spouting about not getting vaccinated and their "freedumbs"  I hear "Hoist with thine own petard" in my mind. They are winning so many Darwin Awards in their ignorance and indoctrination. Sadly... there is collateral damage to their actions.

It makes me feel ineffably sad... to see people "starving and thirsting" yet denying the food and drink on the banquet table spread for them to partake too.

I have to wonder at the brainwashing and mentality that allows one to drink fish tank cleaner, bleach, lights and cattle dewormer yet deny the efficacy and safety of a vaccine with 20 years of science and development behind them. I know people I have known most of my life and worked alongside ..and some of them? Have fallen in to the Q Anon crap and the GQP... and I have not seen it have ANY benefit in their lives yet they continue to cling... I.... just....don't....get....it.

I will be getting the J & J booster when it becomes available for sure!

Do I miss being able to move about freely, without masks, go out shopping or eating out or going to craft fairs and civic functions? Yes... yes I do... but... am I going to continue to follow protocols until this passes in to the next phase in the Spring of 2022? Yes. I am.  I see it becoming like the flu... after the great 1918 flu Pandemic ... we continued to deal with flu's and variations right on up to today.  I see covid being much like that. We get through the Pandemic and then deal with the different strains as they come.

It really seems like a certain percentage are just blindly following along believing anything TFG and his flying monkeys spout out. I sincerely pray.. that it all comes to Light and these sleepwalkers awaken to see the Truth...and ...begin to make better , fact based and educated choices. *sigh*

The brain-damage is worldwide.

Here's some news from New Zealand

https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/126572618/golden-bay-cafe-hiring-only-unvaccinated-workers-makes-vaccinated-customers-sit-outside:

A cafe owner refusing to hire vaccinated workers to staff his Golden Bay business could be a danger to the small community, an expert says.

The owner of the Mad Theartre cafe and art centre is an Australian who goes by the name of Nganga.

Nganga sought applicants for front of house roles at his cafe in a local paper with an advertisement that read, “only non-jab applicants need apply”.

“Most places say ‘get a jab, get a job’. I am the opposite, if you get a jab then you have no job,” Nganga said.

Nganga said he based his decision on “health reasons” and that he did not want to hire staff that may turn into “zombies”.

Helen Petousis-Harris, a vaccinologist at the University of Auckland, said the vaccine did not have anything in it that can turn people into zombies.

...

Nganga’s view of vaccinations does not only extend to his staff but also his customers.

If a vaccinated customer came in, they would not be allowed inside the cafe, and would have to sit at an outside table, Nganga said.

Seriously??

Well, may all the unvaccinated flock to his restaurant and stay away from those who wish to eat in safety.

Got my third jab yesterday and immediately felt it in my arm.  My arm didn't really  hurt with the first 2, not so lucky with this one.  Yikes!

Still sore 24 hours later but not as sore.  At least I can move it now.  I have been in bed most of the day sleeping and have had head/neck  pain also.

Sometimes it is nice to give yourself permission to do NOTHING and today has been one of those days.  Glad I got it and the timing is really good.

Interesting conversation I had with the nurse.  She mentioned that there had certainly been people who were required to get the jab for work related purposes and they were not happy about it.  But they were coming in and getting it, though they were a bit upset.

So, anyone who is wondering whether employer mandated vaccines make a difference, they do. People are indeed getting them in order to keep their jobs.

Thanks to Biden and caring private employers everywhere.

Well Hell. I have to get a Covid test tomorrow. Someone at an in person meeting on Monday night suspects they have or does have Covid. Her husband tested positive and she said she had a cold. Luckily I wore my mask and was socially distanced. There were about 8-10 people in the meeting.

Unbelievably I am not terrified. I am feeling Extremely Grateful to have gotten my booster and anticipate a negative result. Please G-d! I am doing a drive through nose swab which is a little scary.Luckily I have a long kind of nose- hope it won't hurt too much.

@ghandigirl they don’t hurt really but it is uncomfortable and you will sneeze when you’re done ?.  Take it from the guy who tested every 36 hours for 10 days.  (The folks at the drive through pharmacy started calling us by name toward the end!)

@ghandigirl, really glad to hear that you received your booster.  I've had at least four Covid tests over the past two years.  Each time I felt cold symptoms coming on, I figured, better safe than sorry.  Since you do the swab yourself, I just made sure to follow their instructions -- as @dannyboy mentioned, uncomfortable for a few seconds, but not painful.  And in my case, I didn't sneeze!

@ghandigirl   Seconding what Dannyboy said.  Nose swabs are very uncomfortable but only for a few seconds, then you're done.

@ana

and all

It wasn't too bad at all, wasn't even uncomfortable---I have the perfect nose for swabbing apparently and for keeping a mask on :)

I'm kind of a wreck waiting for results, which is exactly why I never planned to take a test though.
