Remember, no anti-inflammatories (including herbal ones) if you have symptoms. It will make the infection worse. Take TYLENOL. Also, it is worth knowing that young people can become infected and then debilitated by the scarring in their lungs for the rest of their lives. Young people have also died. This isn't simply a vague illness or death type of virus. I don't understand why people persist in believing that there are only either mild symptoms or death and that only for the old and infirm. That is incorrect.

Here's a good reminder of why we need to social distance:

About anti-inflammatories:

https://www.lemonde.fr/societe/article/2020/03/14/face-au-coronavirus-le-ministre-de-la-sante-recommande-de-ne-pas-prendre-d-ibuprofene_6033095_3224.html

Anti-Inflammatories are Advil or any Ibuprofen based drug. Never take anything like that for the body aches and fever of Covid-19. NEVER. Take Tylenol.

Just a thought. Can you change the title of this thread to "Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)"? The moniker "Wuhan Coronavirus" stigmatizes people of Chinese descent and implies that this pandemic is a devious "foreign invasion."  It's no wonder that Mike Pompeo and others in #45's circle insist on using the Wuhan modifier.

I'm 46, and have been trying to get back on my feet for years. Lots of people I know are in my situation. I'm terrified. 10 years of recovery? It may be too late for a lot of us. Especially those of us who were already poor, or disabled. I have trouble even imagining surviving it. It's very depressing.

It will be an interesting world for the young people, who will still be youngish when this ends, and they'll be a generation not unlike people who grew up during the Depression or WWII.

But I'm terrified for people my age who are dependent on working, especially if they're not physically healthy or an in-demand part of the information economy, and not physically abled and or young enough to do the grunt work of rebuilding.

I'm one of those soft people created by the times we had... I wasn't made for this.

197 cases in Massachusetts now 33 new ones today.  I think it is a spike.

In Washington, we now have 904 Coronavirus cases and 48 deaths.  There were 769 cases just yesterday.  I can’t imagine one or two weeks from now.

I am sorry you’re feeling so down and discouraged and I am praying for you tonight.  You’re 46 years old and still have so much life ahead of you.  I am, ahem, much older than you.  Sometimes I just want to live long enough to get through this f-ed up timeline and see life come back to normal again. I want life without a malignant narcissist running the country, without a corrupt congress, where we are all striving to be better people and create a better world for our children and grandchildren.  I want a life where we are trying to heal our planet, where we have equality and opportunities and peace.  I do believe it’s coming.  So when your despair and fear passes, and it will, you will discover you are not so soft and helpless as you think.  You are precious and you matter.  Never ever give up.

@bluebelle I know this is moving at lightning speed but Washington should already be sheltering in place, like the Bay Area announced.  We all should actually.  Those numbers are shocking especially since so few are able to get tested across the nation.

AZ Governor Ducey is asking people to not go to bars on St. Patrick Day.

Ummm?!  If you don't want people in bars Govenor, ban them .  Close the bars.  This is on you Govener.  You hold the power to stop them from going.  Only you.  Seriously???

You closed schools but not bars on St. Patrick's day?????

@lovendures

i agree and expect we will be shut down in place.  The numbers are really jumping now.  We are prepared to stay home and I know our children expect us to be sensible.  We are on day 10 of self isolation and it’s been okay.  Be safe and be well, my friend.
