So 2 weeks after opening Texas has recorded the highest jump on positives 1800 reported On Saturday. But T said that the numbers are going down in the country. Yeah ok
I found this interesting. A group of small businesses is resisting the re-opening of Arizona and have signed a letter stating why it is too early to open the state back up. More business owners are signing the letter every day.
Yes, a friend forwarded me this clip of one of the business owners who is against the re-opening, and it's shockingly commonsensical:
"We'll Open Up When Disney Opens Up"
This can't be good.
Shockingly, 13 navy sailors aboard the USS Theodor Roosevelt have tested positive for Covid-19, again, after fully recovering from the virus and returning to work on the navy ship.. Sometime after returning to work fully recovered including 2 rounds of negative tests results,, they showed symptoms of the illness again S new round of testing began and the results showed they indeed had the virus again.
While I had heard of suspected repeat infections in China and Europe, there had been very few cases reported.
A cluster of repeat cased from the same ship? Shocking.
The implications...
Personally for me, this is a big argument against the herd immunity track. Not only this can cause more senseless deaths, but also the end game to this kind of method is feasable due to seeing cases where people can re-infected by the virus, making this whole antibodies introduction to the wider population in vain hope to stem the tide pointless.
Which is also why I'm very against the idea of the "recovery passport" where some countries are thinking about that, besides the awful social privileges implications, there's also the factor that not only you can get infected again. And there are some cases that the virus will not go away swiftly at the very least. This makes it dangerous to not just the passport wielders, but also to anyone who interact with these people who are given a 'free pass' to move around.
I still can't get over 13 on the same ship getting it again. There is a lot of research that will need to be done. Are the symptoms more mild, is the infection reactivated or is it completely new, will they get it a third time, can they expose others again and what would this mean for everyone wanting to reunite after being ill. Yes, this really puts heard immunity into question.
@deetoo I think it means they are willing to dispense with some of the lab testing and start on public trials earlier than they normally would. It's a big risk v. reward. I'm hoping it works because Americans don't seem able to wear a mask without feeling oppressed even if it's in their best interest.
His poor followers. I doubt he has been taking it. I think I reas somewhere he bought stocks. He is trying to make money.
Trump said at a roundtable Monday that he's been taking the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine and a zinc supplement for "about a week and a half" as a preventative measure against the coronavirus.
Really proud of ASU and all the research they have been doing on the pandemic. Not only have they created an accurate Covid-19 test for the public, they have a wonderful website which gathers state and national data for excellent information about virus trends Check out some of their maps and information. This is the project that our Governor tried to kill when he stopped sharing data with ASU. only to find out ASU was going to go live with their website anyway. He got such national backlash that data is now shared again with ASU (and U of A.)
In looking at the national and Arizona maps, it is interesting to see how some counties are really having difficulties. The maps allow you to slide the bar so you can see the maps change over the months and see how the virus has trended over time.

Annie Glenn, wife of the late astronaut and US senator John Glens died from Covid-19. We often appreciate the great courage our first astronaut pioneers had and Glenn sure had his share of courage. But, his wife hand a great amount of courage too.
Thank you Annie for sharing your husband with us all. It can be difficult to find your own voice when your spouse is a giant among giants. She did. She overcame her own speech disorder ( she stuttered) and became an advocate for others with speech impediments and an advocate for abused children.
Defense Secretary William Cohen honored Annie Glenn with the Department of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service in 1998. He called her "a hero in her own right" and praised her for being "a strong voice for children, speech and communications, and the disabled." The Annie Glenn Award was created to honor individuals who overcome a communication disorder.
She reached for her own stars. Her passing reminds us that we all have our own unique gifts which have prepared us to leave this world better than we found it.
We all have the ability to use our own unique gifts to inspire others.
May your memory be a blessing Annie Glenn.

A data scientist who created a dashboard to track Florida's COVID-19 cases says she's been fired from the state's health department for refusing to "manually change data to drum up support for the plan to reopen."
Georgia was “misrepresenting” their number to open the state.
Georgia’s flattening curve defied all scientific logic. Pandemics don’t end because the economy is suffering and we want them to.
And yet data don't lie. Or do they?
Thanks to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, we now know things did indeed look too good to be true. Georgia’s coronavirus numbers looked so rosy because officials misrepresented the data in such a way it's difficult to believe it wasn't done on purpose.
The state of Georgia made it look like its covid cases were going down by putting the dates out of order on its chart May 5 was followed by April 25, then back to May again, whatever made it look like a downslope.
lol @ Dhyanaji, but spread the word, sister! I think it's time for some of the 60s to return. There is nothing wrong with idealism and the desire to change the world for the better. Right on! Power to the people!
'Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, Live the life you’ve always imagined.'

@dhyanaji I can’t tell you how much I love this post. It screams how I see myself in my younger days. Thank you for the smile this morning. These past few weeks have felt so heavy and with sickness, corruption and evil deeds all over its easy to feel so deflated. But, it’s time to put on the beads, rock the tie-dye and send out the purest white light everywhere. It’s the mindset. Thank you for this. This grandma has to find her beads. ✌️☮️
@dhyanaji
Thanks for your wonderful post! I also miss the activism of the 60’s. I posted a few days ago that we need a MLK-type figure to remind us who we really are, and to galvanize us into action. Does anyone get a sense whether that might occur? I’m seeing multiple groups, alliances, coalitions.
As you stated earlier, "This is Clean Up Time!"
Here's a great way to track and view data, state by state, that shows case trends per capita:

Now that cities are slowly opening back up, the "old normal" is creeping back into the "new normal".
This happened in MY city tonight in a place where in the "old normal" times I might have been hanging out with my family, eating at a restaurant, watching a movie, seeing a concert or visiting with friends. Westgate is an entertainment district where the Arizona Cardinals stadium and Coyotes hockey arena are located. A person with what appears to be an AK-47 opened fire and shot 3 people, one is in critical condition.
We may never know how many shootings were stopped because the lock down paused our nation during the pandemic. Looks like someone just unpaused that button in my state.
It's heartbreaking. As more states emerge from the lockdowns, so will all that pent-up anger emerge like never before unfortunely.
Another side of the Plutonian manifestion, albeit the darkest one, and whether it's passive-aggressive or just plain aggressive insanity like that assault, it will all come out to surface... God have mercy on us all.
We can look forward to an abundance of light coming up though like never before and being regenerated and mirrored in a myriad of ways to dispell those dark shadows ....
???
Heartbreaking and crazy. There is such a giant disconnect in some people that cannot seem to recognize the concept of humanity or what it means to embrace being fully a loving and caring human.
I have an overwhelming urge to weep to know that in so many ways we do not learn, grow, or change inspite of all of our opportunities.
I am so filled with sorrow that good, caring people with families they love cannot even enjoy the freedoms or pleasures of going out into the world and be part of it without these discordant and painful and angry and fearful happenings.
I know from our news it is happening again in other places near me, as well. I shake my head in disbelief at the patterns but oh how it hurts that it never seems to end.
The broken record is still stuck in time and the needle cannot jump to a new groove and begin a new song. Still stuck. Still broken.
I am just so sorry it has happened again and really has never truly stopped at all.
So very sad.
