Thank you and welcome to this oasis for support and sharing. Though I followed for several years I only recently joined. I have found it to a very special place and people here.
Thank you so much for this information! It is so helpful to have easy access to an actual statistics readerboard for those who are concerned about the spread of this virus to get quick updates without caring and concerned members having to keep reporting updates here.
Love to you @lovendures with thanks for all your personally involved hard work trying to provide so much investigative information on so many places. We keep your family and your daughter and her college family in our thoughts and prayers that all will be well ? Love to you wonderful wonderful lady ?
It's incredibly important to be aware and informed. We have so many empathic and very sensitive as well as sensitized readers here who take news of outbreaks personally when risks in their area are low.
Treading the waters of informational statistics and being aware of spreading panic during these times will become ever more important in the changing times so this is great to know about!
Thank you so much Sistermoon. We appreciate your input on this site and I feel badly that there was a bit of mix up as threads were merged that we couldn't find your posts right off to welcome and reply to you.
Welcome welcome welcome! I am so truly happy to have you here as a member of our often very human but deeply caring tribe. ???
I bookmarked @sistermoons link to the Coronavirus: Operation Dashboard https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6
And each time I visit it I will send love, light, and prayers globally to all affected as well as include them in my hearts meditation for a higher state of health and healing for all. Love you all ?
And the same goes out to you with welcome and appreciation!
We are all so glad you did register and are sharing your voice, gifts, and treasure of a heart with all of us ?
This story keeps breaking my heart.
As the stranded Pakistani students in China continue to cry for help amid the coronavirus scare, Pakistan's Ambassador to China Naghmana Hashmi on Sunday said that their students should not be evacuated from the virus-hit Chinese city of Wuhan as "medical facilities in Pakistan do not meet the standards" required to treat a patient diagnosed with novel virus.
Dashing the hopes of the several Pakistani citizens stuck in coronavirus-hit Wuhan, Pakistan's ambassador to China, on Sunday told Pakistan-based Geo News that no evacuation is possible because of lack of medical facilities in Pakistan.
According to a report by Geo News, Naghmana Hashmi in an interview shared that China has the best medical facilities to handle the patients suffering from the disease.
There was video taken of Pakistani students watching their counter parts from India being evacuated by their government. They were begging Pakistan to fly them home too. Heartbreaking. 4 students have already contracted the virus in China.
In contrast, Dr. Janjua Usman , a Pakistani doctor and teacher at a Medical College in China is the first foreign doctor who volunteered to treat infected people in Wuhan.
The news said the epidemic area is now the lack of medical staff, I am a doctor, I love China, I would like to go to the Wuhan, epidemic area to help the doctor!" Seeing the media continuously broadcast the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus in China, on January 27th, Usman formally applied to the foreign experts service office of Hunan science and technology department, hoping that he could go to the Wuhan epidemic area for medical assistance.
Dr Janjua, in an interview with Chinese media, said that China was like a second home for him as he had completed his education for there.
“My heart beats with my Chinese brothers. If I can offer my services in Wuhan in this difficult hour, it would be a moment of pride for me and my country – Pakistan,” said Janjua.
Pakistani students stuck in Wuhan are hailing him as a hero for volunteering So are Chinese citizens.
A Very Brave Man. In many ways.
An ophthalmologist in Wuhan, believed to be one of eight whistleblowers of the coronavirus outbreak punished by local police for "rumor - mongering" when they attempted to sound the alarm about the virus in December, weeks before officials admitted the seriousness of the outbreak. has been vindicated by China’s top court. Suspected to have been infected after treating a patient, he says that he will return to the front lines and continue fighting the virus once he recovers.
On Dec. 30,Dr. Li Wenliang sent a message in his medical school alumni WeChat group, warning that the ophthalmology department in his hospital had put seven patients from a local seafood market who were diagnosed with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) into isolation wards.
Li told Caixin that he had been worried the hospital would punish him for “spreading rumors” but felt relieved after the top court publicly criticized the police. “I think there should be more than one voice in a healthy society, and I don’t approve of using public power for excessive interference,” said Li.
“Everything is settled now. It’s finally confirmed,” Li wrote on Weibo, delivering news that angered yet more Chinese. He wrote in another post: “I have seen a lot of support and encouragement for me online, which has really helped my emotional state. Thank you everyone.”
The total number of confirmed Wuhan coronavirus cases in mainland China stands at 17,205, the country's National Health Commission said Sunday,
That figure is up 2,829 from the previous day.
361 have died in China, surpassing the total number from China who died form SARS. One other died outside of China.
California added a 9th case and now has 4 from California. It is unrelated to other cases in California.
It becomes almost too much to bare reading these news reports and facing the truth of all that is happening now. The brave and the suffering, the outcast and unrecognized or those totally unreported. But oh my also the brave and the good. Such blessings and such warriors in all ways.
Heartbreaking beyond words or emotions to take the place of words. They are in my every thought and heartbeat as all the love, all the pain, fear, and suffering escalates.
Bless you ur own dear heart warrior for holding them up to the light of our attention.
Add 2 more cases for the US now totaling 11.
A husband and wife in California. The Husband had been to China on Business but the wife did not travel. That appears to me to be a case of transfer in the US now.
Vietnam adds 3 more cases to bring their total to 8.
China Stocks
Trading in a whole range of commodities has been suspended in China after losses quickly exceeded the daily limit today. The maximum level of losses, known as limit-down in trading parlance, was reached for iron ore, nickel, copper, eggs, palm oil, crude oil and other produce.
Stocks in Shanghai have fallen 8.7% at the opening.
The maximum allowed before trading is suspended for the day is 10%.
It is the beginning of the swarms of locusts and all that follows. Hurts my heart but my heart knows it is still part of all that for future reasons needs to be. I just find it so hard to know as a wife, a mother, and a grandmother that this pain and all the losses and suffers is my pain as part of them all as well.
It hurts so deeply and has only just barely begun. I pray for the good of all and mercy for the horrible suffering now and to come.
Bless you. Stay strong and let each of us carry the light as torchbearers and honor guards and surround them all with love and remembrance.
My husband told me about the locus today. It is pretty catastrophic. Did you know about the swarms or were you just making a "locus is the next step" type of comment?
I am going to find ways to help. I have to do something positive. This is going to be horrific. I have been in Arizona fro 2 grasshopper invasions and that was really gross. They were everywhere you stepped, covering cars and hitting you when you walked. This is so much worse. No comparison. WHEN THEY INVADE, THEY EAT EVERYTHING.
Locust swarms of biblical proportions are threatening crops across a wide swath of Africa and southwest Asia—spurring alarm among top international officials.
A major concern is famine. The United Nations is warning that mass swarms of desert locusts are endangering food supplies in eastern Africa. In response, officials in Rome mobilized an emergency briefing yesterday in a bid to raise money—noting the situation has a high potential to devolve into a full-blown crisis.
U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres took to Twitter yesterday in an effort to draw global attention to the worsening outbreak. The swarms are now threatening farms in parts of Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia but are expected to spread to neighboring countries soon.
