@tybin. I’m so sorry. That must be incredibly difficult for you. It’s hard for all of us to deal with this pandemic, but for people with developmental disabilities, it must be very confusing as well. Stay safe. We will get through this.
We got the "work from home" message from my boss yesterday -- an hour after she told us our Superintendent expects us to continue reporting so -- whatever local updates the health department gives must have been dire to go from "Everyone must report" to "Everyone who CAN stay home must stay home" - I'm packing up my plants and everything else this time because I didn't during the first lockdown and we were barred from re-entering the building so they all died when it was extended from three weeks to three months.
I will provide a little light to you all -- last night I told my twins that our morning routine would look different because I was going to be working form home (they're still going to school -- if the procedure and rules for switching to virtual weren't so draconian I'd pull them for this period.)
The older twin said: Why, did you get fired?
I replied: No - I'm working from home. Why would you think I was fired?
The older twin: Man! I don't know if you're good at your job or not!

Here in CA we are nearing 1 million cases total. In my county, 700 new cases per day. I have decided to put us back on self-isolation. I re-stocked dry goods so I can revert to 1 weekly market trip for fresh foods only. I cancelled all appointments for the rest of 2020 and postponed renovation work we were going to start in December. My husband resisted and called me "paranoid", but I pointed out that it's worse now than in March, and our governor is still not doing enough. He did cave, somewhat resentfully, but at least he's consistent. I did NOT remind him that on March 2 when I went grocery shopping (and spent $600 to stock us up) he also called me "ridiculous", and then lockdown came 2 weeks later.
Too many maskless - that has not changed. Outdoor dining is still allowed and get this - the restaurants are tenting their outdoor spaces with plastic or vinyl sheeting. REALLY???? How is sitting inside a giant garbage bag with a bunch of maskless strangers safe???? Never mind that the tables never were 6 feet apart to begin with. CA is allegedly on Travel Advisory - which means out of state visitors are supposed to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival - HAH! My block is still full of maskless throngs of AirBnB-ers who come and go every couple of days (mostly from UT, TX, NV, AZ). I have lately observed grocery workers stocking raw, unwrapped produce gloveless as well, and even though that's not a primary mode of transmission, just common sense should dictate.

My daughter's Bf's mother is insisting they do both Thanksgiving and Christmas with her (she's a controlling dumbass, but that's a story for another time). Indoors. 10+ people. Maskless. My daughter called me distraught. I reminded her of my scrooge tendencies, and not to worry about spending any holiday with us, and to either go or if she wanted, to throw me under the bus and say they can't because WE remain high risk. She didn't win that battle, so I'm making some turkey and yams this Sunday, and I told her that they will have to stay away from us for a minimum of 2 weeks and will have to get tested before they can even return to my yard. Same for Christmas...
The LAST out of my house activity is on Thursday - going to pick up a second kitten (brown tabby) as a brother for Django, and whisking him to our vet. After that I'll bring him for shots and neutering, but that's about it, I'll just be at home like I was 7 months ago.
The dance studios I zoom with insist they want to reopen - even circulating online petitions! Um, no. I sent the governor an angry email today. This has to stop. I know Joe can turn things around, but in 8 weeks it will be much worse, he'll be behind the 8 ball, or worst case scenario he contracts COVID himself.

Love, prayers, compassion and mercy for the Navajo Nation. When all of us sewists were still sewing mass amounts of donation Covid masks, we had so many heartbreaking pleas for masks for them. The need was so great.
Now it's far, far, far worse. Worse per capita then even New York at its very worse. Hearts are pleading and crying and begging for help!
May we all send love, light, and healing energies and high to them as well as all others in this pandemic now and especially in our Wednesday Circle of Light on zoom.
