@polarberry Yes. I swear by elderberry syrup, as does my child’s pediatrician. It has antiviral and antioxidant properties. We take Gaia’s brand which is actually available on Amazon if your local pharmacy doesn’t carry it. Gaia also has a child’s version (without alcohol). (We take it 1x/day for prevention during flu season, and 4x/day if we already have flu symptoms.) I once had viral pneumonia and it helped to clear it up within a day or two, once I increased from one to four doses / day. (I added a link regarding the dosages from a pediatrician below, as I am not a doctor.)
Obviously, no one yet knows if this will help fight the new coronavirus. I assume it can’t hurt, as long as you are taking a reputable brand. (Elderberry can be toxic if the manufacturing process isn’t handled properly.)
Here is an article with a link to a clinical study about elderberries’ antiviral properties.
“It inhibits the early stages of an infection by blocking key viral proteins responsible for both the viral attachment and entry into the host cells...
However, once a cell already contained infection, the same chemicals were significantly effective in stopping the virus from propagating.”

Here is the dosage information from a pediatrician in the U.S. Please verify with your own physician. http://paofdurango.com/the-power-of-elderberry/
Another hope for an antiviral drug is being developed in Canada by a highly acclaimed researcher.
“In the aftermath of the SARS epidemic that infected 8,000 patients in 26 countries, Chrétien and Mbikay, researchers at the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal (IRCM), began testing their idea that a derivative of quercetin, a plant compound known to help lower cholesterol and treat inflammatory disease—and common, at low doses, in over-the-counter medication—was a ‘broad spectrum’ antiviral drug that could fight a range of viruses.
When an Ebola outbreak struck West Africa in 2014, the two scientists teamed up with the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg to test quercetin’s effectiveness on mice infected with Ebola—and found it effective even when administered only minutes before infection. It still needs to undergo clinical trials.
But when a new global health crisis erupted in Wuhan, China late last year, Chrétien and his team once again got to thinking. They believed the drug might work on COVID-19, which has infected nearly 80,000 people and killed 2,600, according to the World Health Organization. They knew a Swiss drug manufacturer, Quercegen Pharmaceuticals, could rapidly produce doses of the treatment in the hundreds of thousands.“
“The U.S.-based Food and Drug Administration has already approved quercetin as safe for human consumption, which means the researchers can skip testing on animals. If the treatment works, it’ll be readily available.”
The article also says the cost for this treatment would be only $2/day.
I was up at 2AM, and the news said a six week old baby had it in South Korea.
Do not forget the natural anti-virals..as already mentioned Elderberry... also very potent for anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory purposes - curcumin... a derivative of turmeric. It needs to be taken with black pepper and fats to increase its absorption - you can either use the turmeric powder and make yourself Golden milk or Golden Paste or tea...or.. order the supplemental capsules and take. I take them with CBD (synergistic together) for my auto-immune arthritis and it really helps. I also...have noticed that I am much more resistant to getting the "office crud" when I stay up on taking it. Do your due diligence and research and see if it is right for you. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1756464617307399 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28343845 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25600522
@sistermoon Welcome SisterMoon. I'm in agreement with your reading. I know the current administration isn't capable of telling the truth much less handling a pandemic.
I am afraid that T’s Base is going to be hard hit with this virus. He is saying it’s a “hoax” being created by of course Democrats.
President Donald Trump accused Democrats of "politicizing" the deadly coronavirus during a campaign rally [in South Carolina] on Friday, claiming that the outbreak is "their new hoax" as he continued to downplay the risk in the U.S.
But at a Saturday press briefing, when a reporter asked him whether he regrets throwing around careless and provocative rhetoric, Trump insisted that what he sees as a "hoax" is the idea that his administration has failed to properly respond to the public-health crisis. "[W]e've done such a good job," he said, adding, "[T]he 'hoax' was used with respect to Democrats and what they were saying. It was a hoax, what they were saying."
I am afraid they are not going to take this seriously as it should be.

@journeywithme2 I agree. Also, the highly acclaimed researchers from Canada, in the article I posted above, are using “a derivative of quercetin“ as a potentially potent antiviral.
Quercetin is a powerful antioxidant with antiviral properties, and it is FDA approved and available over-the-counter. Pure Encapulsations has it and is a reputable brand. I also recommend researching quercetin to see if it is something of interest.
I LOVE this Story. We should all be as excited to vote and afforded the opportunity to vote as these quarantined COVID-19 Israelis.
From The Jerusalem Post:
With all I've ever read on germs of all kinds we should always be doing this in public places like bathroom knobs and faucets and soap and towel dispensers etc.
Statistically the air flow drying just blows germs around everywhere but most restrooms have both if not I dry my hands on my clothing knowing for a fact that I am cleaner than just the high feces count in public restrooms.
Again people wipe and run they touch their stall door and lock, the faucet if they even water only wash, the soap and drying dispensers and even then it's not washing for 20 seconds its dip and done.
Bathroom door handles in stalls and outside doors and if the toilet isn't automatic the knob or handle in the stall or your own bathrooms are covered with fecal bacteria before washing hands!
That's why I use hand sanitizer in the large pump bottles as part of my cleaning kit or pine-sol or bottled lysol.
Let's face it everything is dirty. Pull a product off a store shelf and imagine how many human hands touched it during its production, shipping, store transfer, and shelving processes.
It's pretty much absurd. Now so far the COVID-21 virus hasn't shown to have a long life on hard or fabric surfaces but look up strep and staph, MRSA etc.
I could turn into an OCD clean-a-holic if I really thought about it all.
Common cold germs--heck we sneeze and even cough without knowing they're coming and spew mucous droplets like crazy.
Use common sense and realistic living but I try to keep it away if possible. All the ways you can clean, launder or live need to be looked at just to keep colds and flu away!
I am writing this hear because I don't have a clue as to where to do it, so here's hoping this is ok. I had a good friend over for dinner last night (she and her now husband moved to Florida). We loved hanging out with them both and I knew her before she married her husband. She's a sweet gal and a lot of fun. She and her husband are longtime GOPers and Trump supporters. I didn't talk politics at dinner too much, but we were talking about the Coronovirus. My husband said he thinks That Trump should take the money for the wall and use it for the Coronovirus. She didn't agree, so I interjected how the current resident in the White House would like to cut social security and medicare. She started spouting off about how there are too many "illegals" running into our country and taking over. She lives in Florida and says she sees them everywhere. I interjected and said "Well look, if it's money for the stupid wall or money for your social security and medicare, which one would you pick?". She actually had to think a while about it! then finally said, I guess social security and medicare. OMG please Lord give me strength! It's Fox news! They put these people under a spell and constantly keep them afraid of the "illegals". 24x7
Early this morning I had a surprising and extremely vivid dream that I immediately understood was related to the latest Coronavirus. In the dream I was standing beside a HUGE animal (on its all fours its very wide back was level to my chest). I was kinda stroking its back, which was not that pleasant to the touch because of its wiry/bristly hair. I thought to myself that it might be a boar, or maybe an extremely large hog of some sort. As I was stroking it, I regarded it with respect, maybe even love (not exactly warm and fuzzy love, but love), because it was a sentient being. Until my stroking neared its backside. Then I became instantly repulsed--and woke up fast, with heart-pounding alarm.
I thought this latest Coronavirus had been traced back to bats, or maybe pangolins (a new-to-me animal and a good word to remember for Scrabble and Boggle!), but after a bit of Googling today, I learned in an article titled "Mystery Deepens Over Animal Source of Coronavirus," as well as from other articles, that the animal source is still inconclusive. "Bats could have passed the virus to humans, but there are key differences between the RBD sites in the two viruses. This suggests that this specific bat coronavirus did not directly infect people, but could have been transmitted (it) to people through an intermediate host, say researchers." Perhaps the "intermediate host" is a wild boar-type animal, or maybe even domesticated swine that's been infected by bats and then its flesh eaten by humans. Or perhaps, remembering my repulsion in the dream as I neared its backside, it's transmitted to humans through contact with this animal's waste...

I have been contacting my representatives (governor, senator, congressman) all morning, demanding to know what preparations my local government is taking to protect their constituents against the spread of coronavirus. I suggest everyone does the same.
I'm seeing a lot of people I know crowing about the "low" mortality rate. A 2% mortality rate means 6.5 million Americans could die. If 10% of the population has complications, that means 32 million could be pouring into hospitals. We are not prepared for this. But there are none so blind as those who will not see.
I'm trying to take what action I can, which is admittedly not much. Contacting my representatives makes me feel a lot better. Mentioning it here in case doing so helps someone else.
Read The Atlantic article I linked to earlier. The numbers you quote are a little off. It's expected that 80% of the US population will be infected, of whom a few will remain asymptomatic. The mortality rate is currently 3.4% (per Johns Hopkins real time dashboard). So let's say 70% of people come down with COVID19, that means ~210 million Americans infected, and about 750,000 dead of it. Of the infected people, not all will need to go to the hospital, but probably >50 million will, and there is a grand total of 1 million hospital beds in the US in total.
It's not worth panicking over. In fact, this morning when I woke up I had the feeling that we're going to find out very soon that this virus has been circulating all over since November, and that many people who have already recovered will never know they had it.
In the meantime, prepare your own household. Basically stock up on stuff you'd need for a killer blizzard or hurricane, except water bottles, you won't need them. DON'T TOUCH YOUR FACE. Stop shaking hands. Avoid crowds. Wash hands constantly (treat yourself to a nice spa type moisturizer while you're shopping). Air out your house daily.
The Vietnamese health department made a song to remind you to wash your hands and it is awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQx8EnFNkxM
Actually there's more. This song has is now a number one hit in Vietnam: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lP9dDcIe3o
And after you watch the John Oliver clip on the Vietnamese hand-washing hit, if you haven't seen SNL's spoof on Trump's handling of the virus, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGFkad-N-kk
We now have reached 100 cases in the US with 6 deaths. I am certain there are may undetected cases that we never found because the CDC never allowed for their testing.
I laughed SO HARD at John Oliver doing the dance to that video last night that I nearly peed!
There are now 2 confirmed cases in Georgia. Wonder if Impotus will still visit the CDC Headquarters in Atlanta now that these 2 cases have been confirmed in Fulton County - the county in which Atlanta is located. I had wondered if we had had cases here before that were not caught due to not testing...as the airport here is an International Airport and one of the busiest in the world. Since they weren't testing for it many cases could have slipped by or been misdiagnosed as the flu since no testing was done. Our area had an uptake in severe flu cases mid January thru February. He was due to come on Wednesday to the CDC. https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/first-cases-coronavirus-confirmed-georgia/4P22YK37OBF2ZIC5VY2YOX7KDE/ It's interesting that the CDC has now changed its publishing of number of cases etc on their website. The muzzle of Impotus has been slapped on the very institutions designed to inform and protect us.
The NYT had an article that spoke about how you can contract the virus:
I have another question?
How long do you think it will be before a city or county says a democratic candidate rally can't be held in a given location because it is too risky and will transmit more infections?
How will campaigning change in the near future? Empty town halls? Kinda defeats the purpose right?
How about sporting events in the US? When do those start getting canceled? Will they be played for tv to empty arenas? That has happened in a another country with soccer.
No one seems to have answered you, so I'll give it a go.
I think it will depend on how badly Twitler wants to hold his own rallies. The Regime can't exactly ban Dem rallies without also banning GOP ones. That being said, from a public health standpoint, it's probably best if they are all cancelled. Technology allows for virtual town halls EXCEPT in deep red country (lookin' at you, KY), where internet access is practically non-existent. Americans tend to be very bull-headed, so it's unlikely anything here will ever get cancelled. The strain of anti-intellectualism and anti-science runs so deep, and then there's the capitalist greed factor. Cancelled events generally require refunding ticket $$, so I doubt it will happen, whether for political or sporting events. I do think some performing arts orgs or individual performers will do the right thing. Green Day is getting ready to tour, and they are already cancelling shows. I also think there's a greater possibility municipalities will do their best to discourage large public gatherings, especially because they know they don't get paid - the Regime has been stiffing localities since 2015.
