Thanks for the laugh. The Borowitiz Report and the wonderful satire of Andy Borowitz never fails to make me laugh of not howl with delight.De-light-full !
Humor is such good medicine and so much better than anger, panic, fear or other dark emotions which while often seemingly cathartic actually strip of us of the higher vibrations we all need during challenging times.
Ever notice just how much the Dalai Lama laughs when answering questions? Gotta love that man! ?
- all realities are happening at the same time and the veil is thin. So the group you mentioned that was able to get guidance from their past and future selves seemed like truth to me he also frequently referred to our seen and unseen friends.
Exactly! Like @deetoo, the first part of that quote really resonated with me, as did the mention of "guidance from their past and future selves." That is not something I have come across before and it really made sense to me. Love it. Yes, keep the faith!
On a practical level, yes, we have been getting a few extras of our regular stuff at Costco. I think it is prudent to be prepared as much as we can for a disruption in our regular services as things move forward, regardless of the severity of the disease itself, the spread of it and the containment of it will potentially impact day-to-day gatherings, errands, etc. here as it has overseas (as many here have pointed out.)
I also resonated with what @lovendures (I think) mentioned a week or so ago about feeling that this is giving us the heads-up to start some preparations for future, more virulent disease outbreaks.
Interestingly, I just finished watching a documentary series on Netflix called "Pandemic." It was released in January of this year (apologies if this was mentioned elsewhere and is redundant...I did a quick forum search and didn't see it there.) It was a fascinating look at the scientists and physicians who work on the front lines of these things. I actually found it uplifting to see the work that they do. Yes, it is scary to think of the prep needed in hospitals and communities to handle these things properly (esp. in light of the coronavirus), but also very encouraging to see, specifically, the segment on the scientists who are working to create a universal flu vaccine. Fascinating and hopeful.
Apologies if this is all over the place - I am catching up on posts today. :) Be well, all, and stay strong!
I've been reading this forum for over a year now. Finally decided to join when the conversation about COVID-19 ramped up :-). I have been staying up to date on this thread and appreciating all the shares.
I am in San Francisco (right over the golden gate in Mill Valley) and we are a family of six. I started quietly gathering things in January. But, that is probably because I used to live off-grid so having supplies on hand helps me feel a little less anxious. We are a bit in the center of the current hot-zone!
Anyway! I work in the field of functional medicine nutrition and many of my clients reached out to me about a home kit for this virus. I wanted to share the book that I referenced that I found SUPER helpful by Stephen Buhner called "Herbal Antivirals" NOTE: it is sold out now on Amazon but you can get it for $4.99 on kindle. It is an AMAZING book. He also has a Facebook page you can follow him. He gives soooo much great info there. He is super knowledgeable, calm and funny. He has a whole chapter in his book about Coronaviruses (SARS and MERS) and also speaks at length about cytokine storms which is why folks get super ill with these viruses. His book is a few years old but gives super practical herbs for lung support. The two that stand out to me: Cordyceps, Chinese Skullcap (different than the skullcap in stores) and Lions Mane. All very supportive for the lungs, well-researched and very few (if any) side effects. You can still buy all of these online.
I've noticed that many people are leaning toward their old standbys; colloidal silver, echinacea, elderberry. He goes way beyond that and gives super practical make-it-at-home tinctures and because he is an old-school herbalist he explains interesting things like elderberry tinctures in stores are generally not potent enough but elderberry leaf extracts (which you have to make at home) are. Also, on his Facebook page, he recommends Etsy to buy some of these tinctures. I bought my Chinese Skullcap this week based on his recommendations for $6 on a professional lyme herbalist Etsy page.
He also has another book called "Herbal Antibiotics" which is incredible.
Thankful for all the wisdom and humor shared here. :-). I hope that this small bit of information may be helpful here.
@michele-b. I love that you brought the Dalai Lama into our forum! He makes audiences laugh with delight when he first walks onto a stage without even saying a word. He is truly the Fool card energy-- has the wisdom of a child with the mastery of an enlightened one. His laugh is an elixir: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWMMR3Dj8pU
Here's a great interview with him on happiness, anger, and how he has managed his own trials and tribulations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2I3bWqzpAs
Pay attention to this news!
The Pope is ill and canceled a planned Mass with Rome clergy today. Yesterday, Ash Wednesday he was filmed in the service with cold symptoms.
We have 2 predictions about the Vatican that I am aware of for March. Do we have more?
https://time.com/5791543/pope-francis-cancels-slight-illness/
Just signed in to say the same thing about the pope. He hasn't been seen in public for three days and the Vatican is being very tight lipped about what is wrong with him. See this article from AP for an update:

Lovendures - what were the Vatican predictions for March?
Ironically, Iran's former ambassador to the Vatican died from coronavirus today. (To be clear, he hasn't seen the Pope recently). Iran has had a lot of government officials be diagnosed with coronavirus.
Helpful article by a Diamond Princess passenger who had the virus: I have the corona virus, so far it isn't that bad.
First U.S. death from coronavirus just reported by Washington state health officials.
MSNBC is reporting that the patient was 19 years old.
FDA also announced today that they'll start letting hospitals and state labs do their own tests.
Trump news conference scheduled for 1:30. I wonder if he'll mention the death, or continue to say this is just a Dem hoax and nothing to worry about.
Listening to the speech he is discussing after talking about Afghanistan - "the woman who died he said was a 55 year old immuno-compromised woman - the 15 others - younger ... have already recovered and are going to be fine - I took the steps needed back in January and we are on it and are handling tremendously well - task force Mike Pence met for 2.5 hours.. spent time with them also and came up with ideas and recommendations and strict edicts we are going by... a group of people so talented and working around the clock and report exactly whats happened and how well we are doing, very well and handled..whatever the circumstances we are prepared - asking media and people not to do anything to incite a panic.. we are handling it and blah,blah,blah... turning over to Mike Pence to discuss travel.. restrictions on travel... TYVM now Mike Pence is speaking.. from the moment we learned of it Donald Trump took unprecedented action to restrict travel and among the reasons why the threat remains low - task force met and a range of actions.. authorized additional travel bans against Iran - expanding any foreign national who has visited there in the past 14 days and going to Level 4 warning...urging to NOT travel in Italy and South Korea..state is to work with allies for medical screening prior to entry to US... " basically they are patting themselves on the back and saying the President and his team are working "seamlessly" coordinate to make sure state and local officials have the support they need to protect the health of the American people. Blah, Blah, Blah.... I do NOT feel reassured somehow.

Those were excellent interviews and so much fun! Loved his humor on no wine or women in his life but he sometimes he still thought about them for a minute until he realized they didn't truly make men happy considering the divorce rate etc.
But oh it made me connect with his sadness at 50 years away from his homeland of Tibet and how you know when a place is "home" when it makes you happy and you feel great peace when you are there.
But then in a heartbeat, he just connects with his "inner smile" and he's right back in the happy place within his own spirit!!
A reminder when we are afraid of the times ahead, feel anger at how it is or isn't being handled or feel actual panic and/or hatred when emotionally escalating ourselves out of balance into how wonderful it truly can be to find our inner joy and balance so we can do what we need to do and be for ourselves and our loved ones!

Thanks for the article. I tried finding news on him and couldn't yesterday. His absence is the longest sick leave he has ever had during his papacy.
Here are the predictions for the Vatican. They are not very clear on what the issue is. Wonder if Bernie or Andrew might have more of an idea of what they were picking up on?
- Something big is going on with the Vatican. (Bernie) (for March 2020)
- Vatican news, evil wins. (Andrew Posey) Predicted June 6, 2019 (for March 2020).
@thelovingdiet Thank you so much ❤️ for recommending Stephen Buhner. I read up on him and on his FB page, you can find recommendations for places that compound his protocols (in US and Canada) for Coronavirus - prevention and healing.

The second one "Vatican news, evil wins" could be this breaking news story:
The Vatican unsealed the archives of history's most contentious popes on Monday, potentially shedding light on why Pius XII stayed silent during the extermination of six million Jews in the Holocaust.

That is fascinating. It will be interesting to see what researchers will say about these archives.
Thought I would share a few stories about the virus that have made me go " Oh Wow!" today.
-News out of London that "former health professionals could be brought out of retirement under emergency plans to combat the spread of coronavirus." I do not recall a situation during my lifetime where this idea has been considered to combat an epidemic.
-Those who continue to inspire and rise up for free speech in China.
An alarming story from our Beijing correspondent, Lily Kuo, on citizen journalist Li Zehua who is missing, presumed detained. He’s one of many for whom the coronavirus crisis has led to a political awakening and a demand for free speech.
Li Zehua, 25, a citizen journalist in Wuhan, is being chased. Wearing a facemask underneath a baseball cap, he quickly records a video while driving. “I’m on the road and someone, I don’t know, state security, has started chasing me,” he says breathlessly. “I’m driving very fast. Help me.”
Later, Li posts a live stream of himself in an apartment, waiting for those same agents to knock on his door, probably to detain him. In an impassioned monologue, he explains why he quit a stable job at China’s state broadcaster, CCTV, and how he came to Wuhan on his ow
“I don’t want to remain silent, or shut my eyes and ears. It’s not that I can’t have a nice life, with a wife and kids. I can. I’m doing this because I hope more young people can, like me, stand up,” he says. The live stream, posted on Weibo, where it was later deleted, and on YouTube, shows two men in plain clothes entering the apartment and then cuts out.
Internet users have devised new ways to evade censors, including posting photographs of pieces of text and marking up the images. Some are teaching others about how to use virtual private networks (VPNs) to get over China’s Great Fire Wall and access blocked foreign sites. An army of volunteers has been preserving and organising videos, testimonies and reports by Chinese media.
“Never before have I seen any other issue awaken ordinary people like this. People now know freedom of speech is the basis of protecting society. We can call this a seed – a formidable and vital seed,” said Hu Jia, a veteran civil rights activist based in Beijing.
Much more about the Chinese young protestors can be found here. I think the energy is shifting in China and the virus is going to be a catalyst for awakening a sleeping giant (dragon), the young people of China.
I have chills.
Terrible news that the Pope is sick. Awful that the whole Iranian government is shut down. Prayers for them - and everyone else who is sick and everyone who is fighting this virus.
I expected nothing less than incompetence from our top layer of government right now, so no surprise we're way behind on testing. Expect a huge jump in numbers of people having the virus here in the next week. This is just us catching up on the situation.
Now, I have to go back to the store and get some chocolate - syrup and ghirardelli.
Much love!
Ok, so the NY Post might not be the best news outlet but this is worth looking at.
Israeli scientists claim to be weeks away from coronavirus vaccine
All,
In the interest of keeping the vaccine development timeline real - and this is important(!) - having developed a vaccine doesn't mean anyone know it works. I don't aim to be a bummer or douse Hope. There are many incredibly dedicated and brilliant people working on a vaccine for this new virus. I applaud them, support them, and send them as much light as I can.
Vaccines have to be tested. These things take time. Every medical resource I've looked at says even expedited testing will take at least a year. After that, production has to ramp up - at least another 6 months.
Hope here is international collaborative work on a vaccine, waivers in testing it on severe cases will speed the process, converting drug facilities to produce the vaccine.
Realistically, we have flu vaccines that are 50% effective. These have been tested and around for years. This is a whole new thing and currently there is no magic bullet. It will come, but it will take time. Don't lose hope or be discouraged when there is no cure for this in the next couple of months.
Love you all!
A side note of great good humor - I have a mouse in my house. There is a possibility this lovely mouse will get to munch on my increased dry good store before I do. I'll be 50 in early April and have never yet shared my house with a mouse that I know of. Spirit is having a great laugh over this one, and so am I. Join me in a long, loud belly laugh!
Hoping an ultrasonic pest device will chase it away.
