This flu season is bad - virus mutated after the window of opportunity to change up the vaccine... Our ERs here are swamped, people are dying in tents in hospital parking lots. I know of 1 baby and one person over 65 who have died so far.

Everyone - as Jeanne said - let's send healing Zoron's way!

Oh Laura, that is awful. I know the flu just went through our neighborhood but I didn't know it was so bad! Is it too late to get vaccinated?

Healing to Zoron and all others affected by this epidemic!

Tee - NO it's not too late to get vaccinated. The CDC has said that even though the H3N2 is problematic, being vaccinated does 2 important things: 1) Minimizes symptoms and duration if you do catch it; 2) Virtually eliminates risk of death from that particular strain. Also read another study recently that said that Flu vaccine is also very effective at preventing catastrophic heart attacks in people with a history of cardiovascular disease regardless of whether or not they actually get the flu itself.
