On one of the CD's my then very young children used to listen was this gem.
Googolplex.

@lovendures. Oh that was a fun song! And it reminds me that when my post-college bf said, "I love you a googol." I'd reply, "Well, I love you a googol to the googol-th degree!" Which your song told me actually has a name and it is "googolplex." Which also happens to be one of the names they were going to call Google but decided finally on just Google. Oh, and the reason Google is spelled differently than googol, is because one of them decided to buy the domain name for googol, but he misspelled it and bought google.
I am googled out. I will try to get back up on the rooftop lounge tonight when the stars come out.
@lovendures It occurs to me that in so many social interactions.. we avoided making eye contact or only brief eye contact. Now? with the year+ of mask wearing? We hold gazes, impart more energy in to connection - speak with our eyes.... I feel this is important to increase connection and empathy in our communications.
Climbing back up here on the roof top. It's a beautiful night. Balmy, some clouds, I can smell the rain. Unk-p, thank you for building this rooftop lounge for us.
I had an odd conversation today with someone I adore at the community garden where we each have plots. There are many good people there, but this guy is my favorite. And here's the thing, he's as far right as you can get, which you know, I do not like. Drop your preconceptions about what this right wing person is like. He's not. He's normal, generous, kind, and funny.
Somehow, he got going on the subject of why the Jan 6 insurrection wasn't that bad and had been wildly distorted by the media. I mentioned the zip ties and the hangman nooses, and he just kept going until I said, "Chris, stop!" We were walking full speed in single file down a narrow dirt path, huffing and puffing, me dragging a pile of old rusty fencing I'd torn down; he carrying some wild rhubarb he'd dug up, past gardens back to our cars.
I said, "Don't keep talking about this because I like you too much and I disagree with you more than you can imagine, but I like you a lot, so stop. There are others there who swing right. I don't argue with any of them because I really like them and there is no changing their minds. We are friends. I maybe even love them. I never argued with them about their views but I used to get upset when they'd bring this stuff up. But today I drove off feeling serene and happy and didn't care.
Why am I not bothered? First because I believe we've won. And second, well, I was gonna say it's because I love these folks, and nothing matters more than love. But really it's because I believe we've won.
@jeanne-mayellWhy am I not bothered? First because I believe we've won. And second, well, I could say it's because I love these folks, and nothing matters more than love. But really it's because I believe we've won.

One Belgium farmer accidentally created and international incident by moving a stone and thus increasing the size of Belgium and decreasing the size of France by about 1,000 square meters.
Government officials are laughing about it at the moment which is good. Can you imagine being "that farmer"? (I bet there will be memes). They still need to locate the farmer and inform him of what happened. haha
