@freya, yes, isn't that the best? I'd love to see more of that student's writing. So creative and funny as hell.
Does anyone else buy extra bags of peppermint Christmas candy, like the white chocolate Hershey's kisses and peppermint puffs, and save it until summer and then eat it when it's really hot?
It's cooling and reminds me that Christmas is only five months away. 😀
@polarberry, I loved being greeted by your post this morning. It's an icky humid day here in Virginia, but your post made me smile. I immediately heard that ad slogan, ""when I bite into a York Peppermint Patty, I get the sensation of a cool breeze!" And then I saw an image of a joyful dog with his long ears flapping in the wind. (The power of advertising. Yikes!)
I don't do what you described -- a really good idea, BTW -- but I do make my own peppermint patties and keep those in the refrigerator.
Homemade peppermints, yum!! My dogs would totally eat a York Peppermint Patty! 🤣
My all-time favorite Supernatural episode is the one called Dog Dean Afternoon, where Dean has to drink a potion to communicate with a German Shepherd named Colonel, who witnessed a murder, and it turns him into a dog. He starts to eat a chocolate bar, and Colonel looks at him and says, "I wouldn't eat that if I were you. Chocolate? Really?!"
Thought you might enjoy reading the attached Washington Post article, “What a musician turned cognitive scientist wants you to know about life.”
The Post normally has a paywall for non-subscribers, but it’s free access this entire week.
Wasn't sure where to put this, but I know people love hanging out in @Unk-p's Rooftop Revolving Lounge! Hope you enjoy it.
