Today is my mother's 91st birthday... the 15th, its after midnight now.
I am very excited for her today. She is always on my mind.. Siince I am an amateur and self taught.
cake artist, I have baked us a cake in the shape of an owl. She used to collect owls in candles and jewelry..
I spent time today in my hometown visiting old haunts to celebrate. I plan to see my mom this weekend.
She gives me hope. In general.;)
My favorite delight of the day was this video of a moment in a Central Florida University girls softball game when a pair of gorgeous parrots invaded.

Lately, I did a quick scan for the middle of 2023. I saw that after a birthday cake with the candles numbered "2" and "7" gets blown out, there will be a gift box with an apprenticeship invitation and a plane ticket.
According to numerology, 27 adds up to 9, representing a cycle's end. My guides confirm that I will embark on this life path soon.
Happy Easter to all who celebrate. Not quite in keeping with the theme of the day (someone rising from the dead), but more like those who are about to fade away, I came across two videos this morning that made me smile with this theme in thought:
@cindy Love Randy and SNL's Last Supper.
That SNL was perfection!! My parents even sent me the link as they LOVED it too.
I sent them the RR video previously. haha
I love satire.
Happy Spring! This man in Asheville, NC, had a springtime surprise from a visitor who wandered in.

@jeanne-mayell Unfortunately, your link doesn't work. By the way, in a link, the question mark and all the characters after it are merely trackers and not part of the actual link. Copy only the first part of the link omitting the ? and all characters after it.

Just a day in the life. My husband and I can't stop watching this doorbell camera short of a Pizza Delivery guy. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HrTJxftP3vc
An entire crime action drama, complete with an accidental hero, is captured from start to finish on one 10 second door bell camera video.
@jeanne-mayell Wow! Perfect example of " I am always in the right place at the right time " An ordinary hero! with perfect timing.
just popping in to cheer for Barbara Kingsolver, who has won the Pulitzer Prize for her novel "Demon Copperhead" !!! https://www.washingtonpost.com/books/2023/05/08/pulitzer-prize-winners-2023/
i can hardly believe it, but this is my 1000th(!) post on this forum. So, i thought i should post something positive (and then i can go back to my previously scheduled bitching about fascism in America).
from The Guardian:
US man leaves job interview, rescues baby in runaway stroller, then lands job
It always surprises me how much animosity is shown towards un-housed folks, especially since so many Americans are only one paycheck (or one medical problem) away from financial ruin. Well, the family in the story above will always be grateful that there was a homeless man hanging around on that day.
Oh, and here is some music to accompany the story:
Did a quick view of the world today:
I see Trump end up in a medical asylum by summer.
Russia will withdraw from Ukraine, with Crimea returning back to Ukraine.
Most of the world has gotten past COVID except China.
Hi all,
Back from NoLa JazzFest - fun but exhausting! I returned to do my volunteer work at the animal shelter I've been at this year. Bit of a tough day - a very sweet cat that was unadoptable due to severe medical issues had to be euthanized. We did our best to make his last few moments happy and full of love. I took a little cry break and got back to work with the other kitties, when one of the other volunteers told me this incredible story, that apparently made the local papers.
Very much a happy ending! It made me feel so much better.
