Thank you all for your heartfelt support. The surgery went well, however, I have a bizarre post-op complication. My knee hyperextends so that my leg looks like an ostrich leg. My surgeon has done thousands of these operations and has never seen this outcome. He is quite the researcher and found only two other cases like mine . He has done everything I would want him to do in response. The challenge will be to get it to heal in a good functional alignment.

Discuss cold laser therapy with your dr. Class 4 cold laser has helped many patients post-operatively in the animal medicine world for ACL repairs, luxating patella repairs post -op, femoral head osteotomy surgeries as well as IVDD patients and wound healing. I have seen it do wonders for our patients.
As your dr seems willing to research and look for solutions for you please ask him to check in to this for you.

I wanted to give an update about my employment situation. I did get a new job last month, so I am happy about that. I had to take a paycut, but a bird in the hand...It involves a lot of NIH/HHS contracting work, so I hope and pray that I can keep this job. I have dealt with a number of layoffs and even got fired from a couple of places, so I'm really trying to be on my Ps and Qs. However, I still want to future proof my career and looking into ways of doing that, especially with the advent of AI. I am in the DC area, so the new admin has really screwed things up here, so I am debating a move as well. Just trying to get my finances straight and pay off some debts to improve my credit plus I have student loans that I need to pay on. Just feeling really overwhelmed, but life goes on. Need some emotional support as I try to take charge of my career and my finances. I'm in my early 40s and I know the time is ticking towards retirement and I do want to buy a house at some point.

I am making progress and have an ortho appointment tomorrow when my sutures will be removed, we will get new x-rays, and I will move on to whatever the next stage of recovery is. Still sleeping downstairs in the family room. Doing a bit more on my own but still need help from family, especially in the later hours and early morning when my body struggles a bit.

I need help for my daughter Marica in Tucson, AZ. You know she is having money problems. I talked to her last night, and she was crying. She is so tired, and depressed. I give her money from my SS, but it isn't enough. and she is about to lose her job of 24 years. They can't make payroll or rent. I don't know what to do. She tried to sell on line, but it is a no go. She is trying to start up another enterprise, but it will be months. I guess the best would be that her place of employment will survive.
