@cindy  what comfort those signs bring us too. I sat with my father the 2 weeks he was in CICU before his passing.

While he was sleeping or laying with his eyes closed it turns our... his nurse and I were talking. I complimented her on her excellent care and concern on behalf of her patients and discussed mine, who happened to have fur.

I said I could never be a nurse for people and she said she could never be one for animals. We both commented how thoughtful it was of Creator to make people have different callings in life to serve where needed.

She asked how did I deal with euthanasia, and how do you know when it's time. I replied that knowing all living energy doesn't not cease to be but only changes form helps, she nodded. I replied when their love for you is what is keeping them here in pain and suffering then your love for them has to let them go. That, somehow, if you look and listen.. they will let you know when that time is.

Meantime love them, care them and give whatever care is needed. Tell them you are accepting of their need to leave and that its okay to go that those left behind will be ok.

We both looked at each other and sighed. I looked at the machines monitoring my father and at her and nodded...without speaking, letting her know I knew what those readings meant. No need to "pretty it up".

I was holding Dad's hand... and looked at him when we paused in our conversation and saw a tear slipping from beneath his closed lids. The he gruffly said.. "Ya'll stop talking about sad things"

I said it's ok Daddy.. letting someone know it's ok to leave when they are ready with your love and support is a sad but good thing. He nodded and squeezed my hand.

He crossed over 2 days later.

I still get signs from him..18.5 years later.

About a week before he passed, my father was in a nursing facility and asked my mother, "Who are those women in white walking around over there?" There was no one present.  And the nurses at the facility did not wear white.   I think that's when we all knew he was on his way to another dimension.

I will not let the right hijack what it means to fly the American flag on Memorial Day.  Our flag is flying and will come out again for the 4th of July and Veterans Day.

That statement got me thinking that I would like to start a fad of flying American flags around town with my progressive democrat neighbors. After 9/11 I hung a large lit American flag from my barn for all to see.  It was so great.  It lit up at night and was about four by seven feet.  I loved it. After Bush made the fake case for war, and the country started to feel fascist, I took it down, stomped on it to break all the lights,  and threw it away.

Now when I pass by the Republican homes that love hanging their American flags, I scoff. but wouldn't it be cool to take back the flag?  Make it the progressive party flag.  Same flag, but different meaning.

@jeanne-mayell We fly our flag even though some of our neighbors might think we are Rs. Btw with a few hundred people in NJ protesting a Trump rally in Feb. ‘20, when the MAGATs began chanting “USA! USA!” We just chanted right back “USA! USA!” That shut them up! They don’t own our country or our flag

I love that.  Made me burst out laughing.

@penelopefp Laughed out loud when I read your post... Kudos to your group... Am in Jersey, too, and have the same reservations about flying old Glory (not wanting to be associated with the MAGAts).  I loved your group chanting right back at the MAGAts... assertiveness done in a funny compassionate way is a great response to arrogant ignorance... I've often found that humor and a gentle but pointed response can stop bullies cold.

@lovendures just checking in on you all and hoping that things are clearing up and that logistics are under control.  Also hoping everyone is healthy.  I’m keeping you all lifted in light and prayer for the highest, best intentions for the marriage of your daughter.   A very special and exciting time.  Sending you so much light and good wishes.  I feel all will be well.  🙏🏼❤️🥂

My dad has been back and to the hospital over these past few weeks following his brain bleed back in April. He has been having multiple seizures and nerve pain in his face. The doctors were initially concerned that he was having more brain bleeds, but fortunately the latest scans revealed this not to be the case.

He has been in hospital these last few days after more multiple seizure episodes and pain, and they have now put him on some new medication to control both his pain and seizures, and so far this seems have helped. He is back home today, so we are really grateful for these blessings.

We fly our flag even though some of our neighbors might think we are Rs. They don’t own our country or our flag

We have always flown our flag in our Dem house. My husband is a veteran and was born on Flag Day (June 14) so we fly it on all the summer holidays and so do some of our older neighbors. Like @penelopefp said, "They don't own our country or our flag."

We need to begin to turn the tide and show that we are the real majority.
