This Dear Forum Community Family,
We would like to update you about our beautiful Coyote who as most of you know, underwent major surgery recently.
Coyote was unable to leave rehab to go home on his birthday as he had hoped. He is currently in the ICU once again. This setback is difficult for him as it requires a great deal of patience and courage to endure all that he must while in the ICU.
We, together with his family, are hopeful he will be able to leave the ICU soon and transfer to rehab again where he can get the therapy he needs to return to the comfort of his home, be with his family and live independently once again.
Over the years, Coyote has openly discussed many medical challenges he has experienced during his 27 years on planet earth. He is a big and beautiful part of our family and has shared great wisdom and insight with us all. He has inspired many of us to open our minds and expand beyond what we already know, to imagine new possibilities.
Please continue to lift him up in prayer and send him healing light and love. May he feel that love and healing energy as it is sent to him.
We also ask that you include his family members to your prayers and meditations as they are also in need of our love and our support.

@coyote I think of you and your family often. Hang in there, my friend. Many people here are lifting you up and sending you positive, healing energy. I can’t wait to hear from you again and believe that is going to happen soon. Be gentle with yourself when you start feeling frustrated with your healing. Your experiences now will stay with you for a long time, giving you a new perspective on life here and life on the spirit side. Sending you protection and healing, Coyote and peace of mind for your family.

Thinking about our friend Coyote today and wishing him renewed health.
Also thinking about almost 30 years ago when I left a dangerous relationship. I had moved to a safe place and fell exhausted into bed after many anxious days arranging the move and then carrying it out. I woke up the next morning out from under that weight, and went for a walk to view my new neighborhood. I was tired. But, I noticed the flowers, the sunlight, the birdsong. As I walked I suddenly heard church bells peeling. It was beautiful and heightened the whole experience. I can remember actual flowers I was looking at when the chimes filled the air. I had no idea why they were ringing like that. When I returned from my walk I learned it was Easter. Even though I am not a Christian I have come to love Easter and view it as the Anniversary of my Courage.
I felt on that day that it was the "first day of the rest of my life." Many Easters from that to this one have passed, some happy, many not. Today I had the most lovely, happy day. So I thanked my former self. The one who was so brave. The one who saved my life so I could get to the place where I am today. Happy, healthy, loved, and hopeful.
There is great heaviness in my heart around my child, but even that cannot make me forget that each day is a gift. Even the bad days. I never really understood that. But now I see how those very dangerous days, and more recent days of loss, have shaped me into someone who loves themselves. I loved myself enough to leave all of the negative situations of my life. I have started over so many times now, and I loved myself enough today to allow myself the joy and gratitude I feel to be a survivor and to be alive.
