I often look at things like this more with my gut/intuition than with my mind. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic - which, if you know me at all, is rare - but I genuinely feel in my gut that this is a nothing-burger. Yes, it's concerning, if only because of the difficulty of contact tracing in this case. However, it doesn't have the "weight" in my gut that covid and other more common respiratory diseases do. Because of the limited albeit lengthy spread vectors and the relatively quick response, it seems unlikely to me that it will spread much more than it has. How many people do you know who take cruises where they might have been exposed to it? I don't know...I just don't feel like this is an issue anywhere near as serious as is being touted.
As an aside, this still contributes to one of the main reasons that I have never and probably will never take a cruise. Cruise ships are floating incubators for a lot of different diseases, and this is another one on the list.
