We now have tropical storms  Paulette and Rene.

Pay attention if you live near The Atlantic coast.  Start preparing if you haven't done so already

I'm hoping they stay the course, this evening our meteorologist here in eastern NC said both Paulette and Rene are expected to turn north and stay east of Bermuda. So neither should impact land hopefully.

@avon

Thanks for your readings on the storms! I saw this and did some readings of my own on Sept. 5th and then today, just pulled two cards on Sally. Details below - I seemed to get very different interpretations than you did, so it will be interesting to compare ours and see how things play out.

Paulette - (I realize this one has already gone by and did not threaten the U.S.) I the Queen of Disks and the notes I took at the time were: The figure is watching from a distance; protected and hidden. I sensed no danger and made a note about "goes on by." I also pulled Princess of Swords - fighting the storm, but there is light and to hang on, it won't last.

Rene - The Emperor. Noticed the light and dark play on the card. The word "balance" kept coming to me. Didn't get much more on this. (again, this was one that ended up going by and not affecting the U.S.)

Sally - (pulled Sept 5) The Lovers. Two figures at the top and the large, hidden figure "presiding" and controlling. I noticed the arms of the robes swirling and got an overall feeling of balance; love, sharing. I pulled another card for clarity and got The Chariot. What struck me about this was that the knight is not moving and is solid, holding the mandala which is building energy. Does this mean that the storm will build energy and sit or stall over an area with potential to get worse?

Sept. 12 - Interestingly, I pulled two more cards today to see what I would get (I read that Sally is now forming in the Gulf and headed to Louisiana.) I pulled The Empress and actually got The Chariot again! My interpretation was that the Empress was "gathering" "holding" and the swan in the image is holding and protecting its young. The Chariot also continued to give me that sitting still, holding space/energy, so my interpretation is that this storm may build, but that it may be a warning? The storm may or may not be destructive, but these energy holding patterns I am seeing are telling me that these are almost warnings to look out as future storms form and come through?

Teddy - (pulled Sept. 5) Queen of Wands. Big storm, fiery energy and strong, but controlled? Does this mean there is a lot of concern, but not much damage? Does it blow by? I pulled another card for clarity and got Adjustment. The scales of justice stood out to me - will this storm perhaps continue the overall path of storms this season and cause heavy damage that serves as a warning (warning of worsening storms, climate change, etc. as the wildfires are doing out west?)

Vicky - (Sept. 5) Ace of Swords. Strength, power energy. Sword piercing the center; but what struck me about this card was the colorful nature of it. Bright blues, yellow, green sword. I pulled another for clarity and got 8 of Wands - Swiftness. This is sort of a fun card, lots of color and energetic zig-zags. This was a tough one to interpret as I am not sure how to think of a storm as fun and energetic! Perhaps it is interesting, meteorologically or scientifically ("fun to watch"), but does no harm?

Wilfred - (Sept 5) 10 of Wands - Oppression. My sense is that perhaps this storm "pins down" an area? Stalls over a place causing more damage? Strong grid of wands on the card makes me think of it being hard to break through, pressing down. I pulled another card for clarity and got The Devil. The goat standing on the two spheres made me think of it, again, "pinning" something or holding it there.

I welcome other interpretations!

Sally is expected to be a hurricane when it makes landfall in the gulf coast.

It. Will. Be. A Very. Slow. Storm.

So, be prepared for prolonged hurricane force winds and RAIN !

Mandatory evacuations have been called for portions of New Orleans.

@lovendures, @cc21, I hope that the Chariot card means that Sallly will move away quickly...

@snowbird

Actually, The Chariot card represents a pause in the journey. The knight is sitting still, gathering energy for the journey ahead, hence my concern about the storm stalling over an area. I was not following the details of the most recent storms before I pulled the cards, so I was especially concerned when @lovendures mentioned it being slow-moving. Yikes!

Good Grief !!

I am looking at an image of 7 disturbances, tropical storms and Hurricanes right now in the Atlantic/Gulf Coast.  I am no expert, but I have never seen anything like it.  It looks like a tic tac toe board of a world map. 7.  Not 2 or 3 or maybe 4.  7!!!!

Sally maybe a Cat 2 hurricane when she makes landfall.  She is expected to  pick up wind speed, slow down her movement and dump buckets of rain.  Florida is getting lots of rain right now. number "20" is expected to be named shortly.

The National Weather Service issued hurricane and tropical storm warnings for  southeastern Louisiana, coastal Mississippi and Alabama, and part of the Florida Panhandle.

"Life-threatening storm surge, torrential rainfall, and damaging winds is expected to move into the area late Monday and continue for the better part of Tuesday before improving Wednesday morning," the Weather Service said.

This doesn't count Karina of the Baja Coast.

@cc21, I'm just a beginner and will defer to your experience and your deck. In my Burke-Caselli deck both horses are galloping and the driver struggles to control them as they are perhaps trying to go in two different directions. I do see how that could result in very inefficient movement, LOL!

@snowbird

I, too, am a beginner! I took Jeanne's class and we used the Thoth deck. This is my interpretation based on what we learned there, plus my impression of how that might apply to reading a storm. interesting stuff, but no clue if I am on track with any of it. Really interesting to read how the Burke-Caselli deck appears and how you interpret that. Thanks!

@CC21 good throw, I hope the storm doesn't stall, that would be devastating, but it definitely looks like a slow mover. :(

I honestly kind of think my throw for Teddy in my last post is more applicable to Sally. The vision I got looks exactly like Sally in her current position. Except I had it going right into the curve of the panhandle instead of more westerly like it is now. But the chaos I got also makes sense since people don’t have a ton of time to plan evacuations and the area has already been hit a couple of times this year. But I threw a couple of cards just to see what I got this time and they both make so much sense.

Sally: Knight of Disks, I notice he is looking up towards the light, but his horse appears tired and weary after the battle. To me, this looks like we just fought a battle and has to fight another. Again, this makes total sense since this area of the gulf has just been hit by two other storms in the past month. Plus this is the area Katrina hit all those years ago. The knight is looking towards the light though, so I feel if they can weather the storm once more, the so-called battle will be won.

I pulled a second card for Sally and got the 2 of Disks, Change. To me, this felt like we as a society will finally realize we need to make changes. Mother Nature is telling us as clear as day that she’s not happy with us right now.

I pulled some cards for Storm 20/Teddy and got cards I just had this feeling were more reflective of this year's Hurricane season in general.  But could also be Teddy, we’ll see I guess, haha. The first card was The Priestess,  she’s reflecting, seeking inner thought and guidance. Then I pulled a card for clarification, I got The Star, she’s searching, looking for a way forward. When I put the Star back in the deck, a card tumbled out, so I read it. It was The Princess of Cups. To me she was Mother Nature harnessing the power of the sea, she looked like she was bringing the light behind her. So maybe this year we’ll finally see we need to act, to change our ways. This is my biggest hope, so not sure I’m reflecting my feelings on the cards or not, but I thought these last few cards were a bit more hopeful and maybe just maybe something will finally be done to combat climate change.

@lovendures

On Friday night/Saturday morning, I had a dream where I was looking at the NHC hurricane tracker map, and it basically looked exactly like what it is now: a tic-tac-toe board of yellow, red, and orange x's. In my dream, Sally was already a named storm.

Also, don't forget about Paulette, which is now at hurricane strength and moving over Bermuda.

Yes, Paulette is going to cause a lot of problems for Bermuda.  Looks like you really did see NHC board Coyote.  It is quite shocking to view isn't it?.

So interesting to read your thoughts on Sally and Teddy. I agree totally - I feel like I am seeing more in the cards than just the storm intensity. I keep getting thoughts and interpretations like you -- maybe these are warnings and storms that will move people to take climate change more seriously; signs to act, as you said.

Say hello to Teddy and Vicky!

There are 5 named systems in the Atlantic for only the second time in history.

Sally is a hurricane now and strengthening rapidly.

Hurricane Paulette is pounding Bermuda.

S L O W    S A L L Y

She is currently moving only 2 miles an hour and sitting right off shore.  That is a long time to be dealing with hurricane winds.  She is hours away from making landfall and not expected to speed up much once landfall is made.

Record rainfall is expected.  Over 30 inches from  Mississippi to Florida.

Days of rain.

Boy do I wish we could trade off weather for a bit in the Gulf and the west coast.

I see that Hurricane Teddy is now at Category 4 strength out in the Atlantic. It will be one to watch, for sure.

And we're on to the Greek alphabet. Subtropical Storm Alpha formed off the coast of Portugal earlier today, while Tropical Storm Beta is churning out in the Gulf. I'm wondering if Alpha set any records for being the easternmost storm to become a tropical/subtropical cyclone in the Atlantic.

Insane how many storms we have had.

The 2020 Atlantic hurricane season has racked up storms at breakneck speed. According to meteorologist Philip Klotzbach, the prior record for the earliest 21st named storm was October 8, 2005 — nearly three weeks later than the new record that was set on Friday.

Also, William, Alpha and Beta formed in one day. This is only the second time in Atlantic history that three named systems have formed in one day.

There was also a 6.9-magnitude earthquake today along the mid-Atlantic Ridge off the coast of Brazil. Just sayin'.

Paulette has reformed again and is back now by the Azores as a TS.  A" P" storm and here we are on Beta.  Crazy.

TS Beta has crossed the Texas coastline is is traveling S L O W L Y at 3 miles an hour. It washed away part of the Galveston Pier.

Hurricane Teddy is producing big rip currents on the Atlantic coast and will hit Canada on Wednesday.
