Thanks to everyone who responded with your takes on what the John Lewis dream meant. I feel like there was truth in all of the answers. Maybe that was the point of the dream: to make us think about our own roles in protecting democracy and of those who we choose to represent us to maintain it. I hope that John Lewis is at peace, longer in pain and watching over the country as it navigates this difficult time.
The shoe that I feel is going to drop is the next set of ways they are hoping to steal the election. DeJoy was lying when he said the USPS would continue to deliver ballots. The GOP and their dark money oligarchs, like Putin, have a multi-pronged attack to stay in power. They hope to create election chaos and an indeterminate winner. I do not think they will succeed but I feel them trying.
They all know that Trump has lost the election, so they are working on any way they can steal it. Hand-deliver your ballots. (Make copies of them too, for what its worth.)
Whatever happens, we are looking at the most important election of our lifetimes.
What can you do, besides helping people vote the right way? Help people get their ballots in, however, they must do it. (Not the post office unless your state has taken action to fix the postal service).
There is also something we can do individually, to raise the vibration of our collective. Make peace within yourselves. Forgive your adversaries and all of the people in your lives. Make of yourselves a light.
Then send light to our country, to the Biden campaign, and the good Congressional candidates.
Come to the Circle of Light on Wednesday nights at 8:30 EST/5:30 PT. We will be sending light to America and the election from now until as long as we need to do this.

@jeanne-mayell, thank you for sharing those words of wisdom. I've been reading daily meditations based on the writings of Henri Nouwen. Recently I've been struggling to find peace within myself and understanding and compassion for the T supporters. My answer came in the following message:
The power of the darkness around us is strong, and our world finds it easier to manipulate self-rejecting people than self-accepting people. The great spiritual call of the Beloved Children of God is to pull their brokenness away from the shadow of the curse and put it under the light of the Blessing. Physical, mental, or emotional pain lived under the blessing is experienced in ways radically different from physical, mental, or emotional pain lived under the curse.

@deetoo What a powerful message for our times! We can all take that message:

Reminds me that every Wednesday's Circle of Light, we make this affirmation: "May I be filled with loving kindness. May I be held in loving kindness. May I accept myself just the way I am."
When I watched Nouwen lecture, he would begin by looking upwards towards the heavens. This was so unusual to see in a professor at Harvard, even at the Harvard Divinity School which was more cerebral. He lived on campus and had converted one of his rooms to a meditation chapel. Anyone was welcome to walk into his apartment and up to that room and sit in prayer or contemplation.
@jeanne-mayell as a Georgia resident and voter... I am planning on hand delivering my absentee ballot.. our voting machines were tampered with I feel.. by Brian Kemp when he stole the election. I don't trust that they maintained the integrity of the machines. At least hand delivering will have a written record. Does anyone get a feel on the reliability and accuracy of the our voting machines?

Considering all the bile and acrimony that John Lewis experienced and channeled through his body in his lifetime, it seems appropriate that he would come to an empathic seer like you to sit with him as the last of his pain drains away, freeing him to travel on.
Another thought...do you experience gastrointestinal issues? Have you ever had an ulcer, or do you hold your emotions in your gut? Maybe John came to you to remind you to take care of yourself and to let your emotions pass through, too.

I think John Lewis is representing The Body Politic in your dream. There's a lot of disease in the system and it will require a lot of hand holding by all of us to heal. Certainly there is currently a lot of bile...
His district in GA has been firmly blue for a long time, it was redrawn in 2012, but he stayed in the seat despite that. I do suspect that putting all the offshore votes in that district is a way of saying that since that one district is blue and likely to remain so, you all don't get to influence voting in multiple districts (kind of like it's viewed as a "lost cause" by the rethuglicans).

@lowtide When I read about the dream I also got the feeling that this was a message about a possible health issue. @baba if you've had any type of strange gastrointestinal issues or odd pains lately it might be a good idea to bring it up with your doctor.
I just woke from the strangest dream, and felt the need to write it down. It took me forever to fall asleep tonight, and now I'm very bleary from the dream and waking up, so this may come across totally discombobulated.
My daughter (in my dream, she was much younger; a child) was told she had a growing infection in her foot, and her leg needed to be amputated from the knee down, and it needed to happen the next day. We woke up the morning of the surgery, and wrote a long thank you and goodbye note to her leg ON her leg (I'm stretching my memory ... can't remember which leg). We got to the hospital, and Mike Pence was sitting at a desk, and Joe Biden was standing and smiling. I handed Pence a shoe box, and in it was the shoe for the foot about to be amputated. I told him, "we don't need this anymore." Pence looked uncomfortable and disgusted, and handed the box to Biden. Biden said, "I don't think he liked that," and I responded, "Then he probably shouldn't see her leg." Biden smiled, then took my daughter's hand, and led her into a hallway. I asked what they were doing, and Pence smiled smugly and said, "No, they've left for surgery." I got panicky and started to shake my hand, and ran to the door to stop them and hug my daughter goodbye, I felt like I hadn't prepared her or comforted her ... she just was TAKEN ... but outside the door, in the hallway, was a family - they looked like a different ethnicity or religion, and were looking around the hallway, confused. When the saw the open door, they looked hopeful and tried to come in, so I quickly shut the door.
And then I woke up. Now I have a pounding headache, reflux, and am not sure how long it will take to fall back to sleep. But I thought maybe you would have fun with the dream.
@saibh short and sweet impression I got was it's about the children taken away from families and put in cages and the people whose children they are were lost and confused by the efforts to get their children back. Your daughter? I think represented our loss of innocence and belief in our government.

@lowtide ... She's good; 15, just got home from swim practice, is eating waffles and getting nutella all over her cheeks like when she was three, and sharing cat videos with me. No signs of concern :)
A few nights ago I had a disturbing dream. I was in a large tent waiting to get vaccinated. As I was leaving, I somehow knocked over the serum. Next I know I am trying to pay for parking, it was $41 or $44. Not sure which. I didn’t have the correct amount of money . But gave the attendant what I had. I was with another person, no idea who but felt like a female friend. We were then being chased thru NYC by a tank. I lost the tank by driving down a small street . Feeling great that I ditched it only to have someone on the street step off the curb and scan my car - where there was something to scan on my dashboard . I then woke up exhausted and feeling defeated.
The Parking lot attendant who I had to pay was very scary looking.
Anyone have any thoughts/interpretations? It seems pretty dark to me. Feeling Uneasy with it.
@kksali, it almost feels like an authoritarian regime making you get vaccinated. As if Trump would make Americans get a vaccine that wasn't ready just before election day. Could that be a fear of yours?

AstraZeneca described it as a "routine" pause in the case of "an unexplained illness.
@kksali I wonder if the part about the parking attendent being threatening and asking for too much money is somehow a message that the companies developing the vaccines are too focused on money to develop the vaccine properly and/or that some middle man will try to make money off the distribution of the vaccines and drive up the costs.
Spilling the serum suggests waste or loss of valuable product that is needed. Perhaps a message that the people who collect the serum will not handle it or store it properly...another possibility is you feel somehow out of control in the whole vaccination scenario, like you could accidentally do something you would regret...are you afraid that the vaccines may not be safe and you don't know if you will make the right decision of whether or not to take one?
The tank chase part of the dream seems odd to me. I wonder if it does represent your fears in the future about the vaccine being safe to take or a warning that the vaccine presented for you in the future isn't safe or has side effects. It does seem like a powerful outside force is trying to harm you in the dream. I don't know for sure, just suggestions...it could be more literal and mean oppression by government in some manner as suggested by Moonbeam.
The final scene of a man jumping off the curb to scan the car is sort of suggestive of control in the sense of tracking people who had the vaccine or tracking people for some other reason. I am not sure of this idea either, just throwing it out for you to think about...I mainly think of tracking because in the medical field samples are tracked by bar code readers.
