*issue, not mister. ha ha
I have no idea what to think about this one. I don't really know if it belongs here, but then again maybe?
This morning I came downstairs to find my husband at our kitchen table.
He said: "Do you have any idea what you were dong last night?". I was confused and did not know where this discussing was headed.
Me: "Aaah nope?"
Him: " I woke up last night to hearing you saying the word "ok". And then you said it again. And then again. You said it each time you breathed out."
I am not known as being a sleep talker. Actually, he is normally a sleep talker. He wasn't finished
Him: "Each time you said 'OK' it was while you breathed out. it clearly was the word 'ok'. " He then starts breathing in and out and saying "ok" . Breathing in and out "ok" . Breathing in out "ok".
" After 5 times I started counting." He said.
(Pregnant pause...)
"87! You did this 87 times!!!!!!!"
He then began to repeat the various ways I said the word "OK". "O.K." "ok." "Ok" and so forth.
He asked if I remembered this. Nope.
My first thought? What was I trying to process? Was it a situation in my dream? Some sort of communication? A download? I don't even know what I really mean when I say "down load". If it was a "situation" in my dream, it must have been quite a situation with a whole bunch to process. If it was "communication", boy I was told quite a lot of stuff and who the heck was telling me this "stuff"?
"Ok", that's all.
Sounds like you were doing Tonglin. It’s a Buddhist practice where you help the world by breathing in the dark stuff and converting it to light inside you then breathing it out. Each breath is an act of generosity and healing for the world. That fits who you are, dear friend.
Really? Wow. I have never heard of Tonglin before. I am now going to need to find out more about this, how interesting. Thank you for sharing Jeanne.
Tonglen has been used very specifically as a type of breathing meditation that takes in the poison and breathes out healing. It has also been used to refer to giving and generosity. But overall it is an active practice to heal others in this world. Sounds like you, friend.

I love everything Tonglin from ancient prayers flags and prayers without words coming out of earliest times without recorded history.
Fascinating culture, people and beliefs translated by others into ways of being and doing now.
I do this energy breathing but with naturally occurring intuituvely created ch'i gong movements.
I don't say ok but your oks told me you are intuitively working towards creating a place of being ok with whatever and all evers going on in your own life
And I am doing this, too.
With you dear lady
?
We need another Circle of Light group say on the Winter Solstice if that were even possible and use a Tonglen/Tonglin meditation!
And if we're all too busy for a group than everyone can join in non-locally and do a breathing meditation for ourselves, our loved ones and our world.

Love Pema Chodran. Her words and her energy bring me back to compassion and balance when everything else in the world seems off kilter.
