Last night I dreamt of large open-sided tented structures being set up in a very organized fashion in a park-like setting, in preparation to serve as shelter and relief centers. I currently live in L.A. Honestly not certain what city (nor even what coast!) this dream was referencing. Also not sure if it reflected a real impending physical catastrophe, like an earthquake, or if it was symbolic of something even bigger. As I reflect upon the dream image today, I'm kinda leaning toward symbolic, perhaps related to California's steadfast intention to recognize and prepare for mounting environmental crises and to participate in the Paris Climate Agreement despite Trump pulling the U.S. out yesterday.
I lived in Southern California for the Northridge earthquake. One thing I will never forget is how many people got out their camping gear after the quake and lived in tents. People erected tents on their personal property. Tents were erected in city parks. For weeks.
So when you spoke of tents, my mind flashed to the aftermath of the Northridge quake. 6 members of my immediate family were displaced by that quake.
I was living in L.A. in Jan. '94, too. The earthquake caused devastating damage. So sorry to learn so many of your family members were displaced (trauma on top of trauma). The afternoon before it struck I was feeling inexplicably uneasy and convinced my college freshman daughter (going to LMU, as you know, very local) and my high school junior daughter to come with me on a last minute mini-vacation in Palm Springs. The next morning when the earthquake struck the greater L.a. area we didn't feel a thing in the desert--but when we returned home, our house and my office were in shambles.
The open-sided tented structures (orange, for what that's worth!) in last night's dream weren't small family-sized ones, rather they were very large and each could accommodate a gathering of hundreds. That's one more reason why this image felt symbolic of a larger purpose, and that's why I think it might have been a dream about the awareness of needing to prepare for the negative effects of climate change--especially because this dream was within hours of Trump withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement, and knowing that CA is one of the parts of the U.S. that takes climate change seriously and is committed to continuing to work with the Agreement.
Thank you for your thoughtful response, @lovendures, and again, really sorry your family was so directly affected by the '94 earthquake--living through such an experience can leave you feeling rattled for a long, long time.
I had a brief and wild dream last night, in which:
I was cooking dinner in my kitchen and listening to the radio (I don't have a radio in my kitchen anymore but do listen to podcasts via phone/bluetooth speaker, but in the dream this was normal). I heard the announcer say: "Our governor is addressing the crowd now" (I thought it was Newsome but I'm not sure). And then I heard the governor say: "Fellow Californians, unfortunately now is the time to stand strong and fight for what we believe in. We will have to take up arms to defend against the forces of fascism that are threatening our way of life. We may be a state of dreamers but we will not be cowed..."
At this point in the dream I decided to go to the living room and turn on the TV, where I saw/heard the same scene. I saw many adults in front of the governor, carrying big guns, all wearing blue uniforms, looking in what I took to be the general direction of our eastern state line/the horizon, at which point I thought "Wow, we're really doing this."
Then I woke up.
Wow. Well, authoritarianism is coming close at hand and I’m not sure how many people in the general public recognize the threat. We recognize it and a lot of followers on this site recognized the danger and dark energy from early on. In the midst of this turmoil, we need to be vigilant with our positive energy. Namaste.
- I had moved 3 years before that earthquake, having lived in Sherman Oaks where there was so much destruction. And I went to CA St Northridge . An earthquake in 1990 got me to get the hell out of there.
Before 9/11, I kept dreaming of seeing jets crashing, but unable to see the nose of the jet at contact where they crashed. So difficult to know what dreams are predictions.

Yes that is a scary dream. It feels like a warning of how far we've gone towards authoritarianism. It reminds me of that timeline vision I had in 2014 which at the time I thought was of the financial markets but from 2014 to Nov 2019 seems to resemble the emotions of the collective. Starting around 2013 and 2014, I felt something dark was coming in 2017, worsening in 2018 and 2019, but I kept feeling it was a market slide. Instead it was emotional volatility brought on by Donald Trump and the GOP. Then came the downward slide in late 2019/2020. If it's not a market slide then it would be something that brings everyone down. A massive bummer.
I believe these dreams and visions are warnings to get us to prevent it. The majority of the American people are much stronger, much smarter, much more ethical and freedom loving than the GOP and Donald Trump could ever understand.
We have to mobilize politically. Get out the vote. The democratic committees in my town and neighboring towns are having postcard and calling parties. We send postcards to people in other states who've been thrown off the voter registration roles. We tell them how to get back on.
I had a dream 2 nights ago and remember only part of it while waking up. It was Election Day, we were in line voting and all of a sudden it went black everywhere. I felt like the electrical grid went out or some kind of shenanigans to create confusion on voting day.
I thought about it later and could see Trump trying to create mass hysteria on Election Day just to stay in office and declare martial law. Strange dream..
