I just read on the CBS news page that the Debate Commission plan to cut the mike if trump or Biden break the rules.

Ah yes, abortion. The wet-dream topic of every right-wing evangelical. The one that causes them to put on their Warriors for Christ t-shirts and overlook every abhorrent behavior He warned about.

I am anti-abortion. It's not a decision I would ever make for myself, but it MUST be a personal decision.

Republicans want every baby born, but they spend their lives attacking healthcare, social programs,  food assistance programs, school programs, disability, environmental programs, anything and everything that could possibly make the life of a child in need better and healthier.

They don't give a rat's ass about what happens to the child after it's born. Not one damn. It's all about controlling women and shoving their narrow twisted view of the Bible down everyone's throats.

And their cult-god Twitler has never paid for an abortion, probably one of the few things he's ever pair for.  Yeah, right. But that's ok, the evangelicals have it covered. In that case(s), it's it was the will of God. Those babies weren't meant to live.

Disgusting. Hypocritical beyond belief. That's how they roll.

I've said that they couldn't care less about a baby once its born for years. I dont think they care about abortion at all either. They just know its a rallying cry for idiot Christian sheep that will vote their own mother into a concentration camp because God said abortion is bad.

As for the topic itself, I'm completely against it on a personal level but also pro choice because its not my decision to make for anyone not involving it being my own child. I do think a father should be able to stop an abortion, barring a mother's significant health risk, but they must be willing to take full parental responsibility after the birth and absolve the mother of all legal and financial responsibility and parental rights.

My liberal peeps were touting that Biden handily won the debates and Chris Wallace was incredibly biased against Biden.

All Americans seem to have one thing in common.  For a multitude of reasons, Chris Wallace was unable to perform the duties of moderator effectively.

We have to start somewhere, right?

Actually I was pleasantly surprised by how Chris Wallace stood up to Trump. He did seem to be committed to being a neutral party and showing himself to be a legitimate journalist, and his rebukes of Trump actually seemed reflect well on Biden and help his case. This is not something I expected from someone representing Fox News, i.e. Trump State Propaganda Network.

It is not easy to rein in a bullying malignant narcissist, in a debate setting that relies on an honor code of professionalism from both debaters, especially given that Trump was actively trying to sabotage the debate.

I do agree it was a mistake that a mechanism to mute the mikes was not provided to Wallace.

That's confirmation bias at play: we tend to only pay attention to clues that conform to our belief system and tend to disregard clues that do not.

Most of us at some point fall prey to this bias, even when we're convinced we are fair and balanced in our judgment.

@fajm 100% agree!  The numbers seem to indicate it wasn't Biden with the interruption problem.  Definitely mute the mics next time -- though I've voted and already delivered my ballot to our rural clerk's office so outside of this Wednesday when we watch Kamala Harris perform some Mortal Kombat style fatalities to Mike Pence, I'm done -- aside from my countdown in the Joe Biden thread :-)

Topic starter

Weird Al came out with a great song about the debate.  It made me laugh and set the mood for a fun start to my day.  We need laughter.

@lovendures I saw it, and passed it on. It was better than the debate.

I asked a friend today what she thought about the debate-  she's a Trump supporter. She said they both acted like 4 yr.olds and each of them was rude, interrupting etc... Wow! This is how far gone we are now- no moral compass to recognize who was at fault etc... If you are "undecided" now there is something seriously wrong with your thought process. Maybe you want attention. Mind boggling...
