I understand your despair. I feel it often, and express it often on this forum. Sometimes when I get really, really down, I try to imagine myself floating away from this period of time. I see the decades and centuries behind me, and try to take a long view of history and events. I remind myself that societies have endured terrible times, and have come through.  Germany endured Hitler, and is now a beacon in Europe. The human collective has survived so much, and we'll survive this current period of time. The Dalai Llama has a great saying, which I always forget but it goes something like: what looks like revolutionary change is what's been building quietly for a long time. So, as Baba says, change can come when you least expect it. We'll be around to see it.

@lynnventura, your words really connected to something I've been sensing this past month.  I initially was receiving messages from spirit, like "now is the time for limitless creativity" and "creative genius will emerge out of darkness and chaos."  For as scary as the world looks now, I was actually feeling excitement and hope in those messages.  Recently I've been feeling an energetic rumbling.  At first I tried to analyze it, believing it might be an earthquake or volcano.  But I don't think that's what I'm tuning into.   What keeps coming to me is the word "rebirth" and the mystery of the creative process.  We're being given a huge opportunity to let go of whatever doesn't serve us and create something wonderful.    As we let go of the old ways, more will be revealed to us.  I sense it even more when I wave at the moon.  (I often wave 'hello' at the moon.  We're buddies.)

@baba, I really like your meditation and vision.  I may borrow it!

From Heather Cox Richardson.  Two other pieces of news.

First - we were told no Americans were hurt in the airbase missile strike.  Well, that number then got upped to 11.  Now it appears there are more casualities.

"Second, do you remember the scandal about Amazon founder Jeff Bezos having an extramarital affair and going public about it after the National Enquirer tried to blackmail him about it? At the time, the National Enquirer said they had gotten the tip about the affair from Bezos’s affair partner’s brother, but his spokespeople made some cryptic comments about being hacked. The UN is going to release a report tomorrow saying that Bezos’s phone was hacked by the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, MBS, during a “friendly chat” (which raises the question of what other phones might have been compromised during friendly chats). Several months later, Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi, who had been deeply critical of MBS, was murdered at MBS's command, but Trump refused to acknowledge that connection. Trump has sharply criticized Bezos, who owns the Washington Post, and Jared Kushner is friendly with MBS. How this will shake out is unclear, but my sense is that it is not going to be a little story."

I am watching the trial.  Democrats could not have chosen a better person to present than Adam Schiff.  It is a thing of beauty.  He is laying events out using calm, clear and precise language, showing excerpts of transcripts,  and video clips of Twitler.  One thing is crystal clear-any Republican senator who votes to acquit does so with absolutely no doubt that they stood in defense of a traitor.

@polarberry

I read that and suddenly saw Rachel Maddow saying "This has got to be the biggest news dump ever and it's not even Friday!"

I haven't yet seen Schiff's videos from today, but I've googled clips from yesterday. He's sharp, on point, and he speaks so all can understand. I know there are those who just don't want to, or who would refuse to listen. Too bad for them, Schiff was trending on Twitter today with the #AdamSchiffRocks tag.

Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, Schumer and many others know that there's more to be revealed. For all those wondering what they have up their sleeves, I'm sure there's plenty to pick from. Just don't forget that this circus trial will be over in a few weeks. This trial is scheduled for the next two weeks. Pelosi scheduled the SOTU address for the 4th, which is during the course of the trial if it takes 2 weeks. Shrewd move. You know he won't be able to stay on script and will have to comment, and he's not bright enough to not incriminate himself or others. See this morning's comments about how they didn't turn over documents to congress when he's being charged with Obstruction of Congress as a prime example. Narcissists have such a lack of self control when they wish to lash out. It's also worth noting that even if the trial ends in two weeks, and they've acquitted him, in March the SCOTUS will be hearing the case about releasing his taxes. So if they acquit, they'll look horrible when the taxes are released showing his Russian ties and other illicit dealings.

We're only on day one of the actual trial, today being the opening arguments. Yet the AP is reporting that the District of Columbia is suing the inaugural committee for abuse of funds. We haven't even gotten into the SDNY investigations yet. I'm thinking there are other shoes getting ready to drop as well.

I'm sending light, love and protection to all who are leading the charge to correct the wrongs which have been perpetrated in DC in the last number of years.

Thank you for this truth.

Was it me, or did Moscow Mitch look visibly shaken after Schiff finished speaking?
