I don't know much about astrology (except the fact I am a Leo), so I don't know what planets mean when they reach so-and-so house. However, I am into astronomy, as I have a telescope that I look through (weather permitting) to see the planets and stars. I also follow NASA's website to learn where the planets are.
I am posting this because I have a question. For the last few months, we have had three planets in "retrograde" (where it appears as though a planet is going backward. It is an optical illusion, as a planet can't actually go backward, but I often hear it mentioned as though it is important in astrology). The planets are Uranus, Neptune, and Mercury. In April, Mercury went back to normal, but now Pluto went retrograde.
This month (May), we have a total of six planets in retrograde. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto continue to go backward, but next week they will be joined by Saturn (May 11), Venus (May 13), and Jupiter (May 14). Next month (June) will have seven planets retrograde, when Mercury goes backward again (it does it about three times a year). Also, I noticed with interest that there is also a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse that month too.
As I said, I don't know much about astrology, but I am curious as to whether or not the number of astrological events in the months of May and June are supposed to mean something in astrology, especially as it relates to Trump and the US. When I look through my notes, I see that the astrological events don't really let up until November, when we are back down to just three planets in retrograde motion (Mercury, Mars, and Neptune).
To anyone who knows anything about astrology, does the upheaval in the planets mean upheaval for Trump? Or is it just a big coincidence? I don't know enough about astrology to believe or disbelieve it, so I am curious if anyone has any insight.
@lynnventura
I don't feel bad per say about hating Trump. He is a terrible person who deserves bad things to happen to him for all the cruelty he has inflicted.
Having said that, I don't want him to die because I hate him (even though I do). I am wishing he would die because I honestly don't see what else can stop him at this point. The Republicans have made it clear that they are evil too and will continue to do so as long as they can, consequences or not. Trump's followers clearly love their guns and crave violence and conflict the same way an addict craves drugs. But Trump has emboldened them to the point where they are not afraid of displaying their cruelty in open daylight anymore. Instead of being considerate of another's culture, it is being sneered at as being "politically correct." What's worse, evangelicals have flocked to him as they have never flocked to anyone else. The mere fact that they let him get by with so much while they condemn others for far lesser crimes is disgusting. The fact that they pray to God every night to protect Trump just so he can continue to "own the libs" makes my blood boil at the utter insanity and hypocracy. In many ways, this is the hardest thing for me to swallow. To see so many so-called Christians hail Trump as their savior and yet attack the very people that Jesus called upon all of us to take mercy on and to protect...it has caused me to question my faith. Why is it that Trump continues to get away with such evil?
Whatever power Trump has, he still can't beat us. But he can continue to do damage, regardless of what role he is in. For this reason, I truly wish that he dies. If he dies, the nightmare is over. No more Trump using his position to withhold aid or punish his enemies. No more Twitter rampages or calls to use violence against reporters. No more rallies where his followers come together to scream threats and urge violence. No more Trump threatening to take my insurance or putting people at risk.
Seriously, there is no way Trump will leave unless they take him out in a body bag. If he loses by a little during the election, he will seek to overturn it. If he loses by a landslide, he will call for his followers to riot in the streets. Even if he does leave office, he will seek to use Twitter to incite violence against democrats and anyone else. So yes, I hope he drops dead so we can move on and build a better country. It's sad that it has gotten to this point, but it is true nevertheless.
Thanks for posing these questions, @allyn. Several others here could answer them just as well or better (probably best done in the Astrology thread), but because I enjoy attempting to unravel retrogrades for non-astrologers, I'll share just a little about them here.
Astronomy belongs to a mechanistic science of very large objects: primarily, the physics of how stellar bodies move. From that perspective, it's true that no planet ever moves backwards. Mercury never stops and orbits in reverse.
But regardless of size, no object is truly material; everything that exists is primarily energy and empty space. Or particle and wave, if you prefer. This is no less true of the very large stellar objects in orbit around our star.
And astrology is the study of the geometric flows of the energies of stellar objects, which are intense and particular to each. Moreover, these "outer space" energies are understood by many astrologers, psychotherapists, and others to be an external reflection of our interior space—the psyche or soul, if you will (see the remarkable letters between Carl Jung and physicist Wolfgang Pauli, for ex).
As these planetary energies flow toward Earth, they impact us in myriad ways, all of which we can attempt to interpret based on ...well, lots of factors (sign, house, degree, etc.). So, a retrograde motion is when—from our vantage on Earth—the energy of a stellar object first stands still in a sign and degree, and then appears to reverse its course for a period of time. A planet in retrograde gives its energy a much more inward focus. It's a time of slowing down and reprocessing those things that planet rules. And a retrograde isn't a "bad" thing on its face, not even in the case of Mercury. (I happen to love Mercury retrogrades myself.)
This is a period of global slow down. We are being called to reconsider and reassess literally everything about the way we live and work and behave. So, this period of intense retrogrades ain't no surprise. As for how it will affect T, I'll leave that to a better astrologer—or one with a lot more energy than I have at present.
Love and starlight to all.

[H]owever hard it is to face his continued presence, he does go. And we will be a better nation because of what we're facing now. This isn't a Pollyanna fairytale. It's a fact. It's the vision I have that never wobbles. Not ever.
@vestralux, I share that same vision. I also believe that through this period of fear, uncertainty, and profound loss, our nation will reach a new level of maturity by facing its shadow. The closer we get to the Light, the more of our shadow we will see. For as painful as this process will be, the exposure will take away the shadow's hidden power. We will be free.

Beautifully said. And powerfully true. ♥️
I, too, feel certain Trump will soon be gone. Absolutely certain. Soon could mean anytime between now and next Jan., the end of his one and only term in office. Although, I still sense some devastating reckoning for him is imminent, as in this month or next. When I heard "so far gone" emphasized in the adjusted lyrics to "Rich Girl," I understood it to mean he has mentally and emotionally exceeded even the most extreme prior reaches of his psychopathology, and his level of sickness continues to escalate (his daily horror show/loony tunes pandemic briefings made that appallingly apparent).
For those contemplating Trump's demise, I am in the group that believes his leaving 1600 via natural death is the best for this country. Whether he is voted out, impeached, has the 25th amendment used, or even killed by some nut job, it will leave his supporters with rage and a villain(the left/deep state/swamp/ etc) that they must defeat. This pushes us closer to civil war.
If Trump passes from (relatively) natural causes while in the WH, there will be no one his cult can directly blame. They will be more heartbroken than angry that their perfectly covfefe ruler has perished. This is the safest of all options for all of us.

Yes, this is the power inherent in a retrograde! I will add that retrogrades happen all the time. Mercury gets the most attention, but all the planets regularly spend time in retrograde.
I'm not an astrologer, but rather a fascinated amateur. To me the major forces at work this year are:
The Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn that occurred in mid-January: Pluto is the planet of transformation and regeneration (it also rules viruses). And Saturn is the planet of structures, time, consequences. At the most literal level, we are seeing a virus transform structures across the planet.
Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn: This conjunction occurred in April and will happen again in June and finish in November. Jupiter is the planet of abundance and opportunity, but also excess. Pluto transforms everything it touches. Wealth, power, and resources will all be undergoing changes throughout the year.
Saturn-Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius: Saturn and Jupiter will conjoin on December 21 at 0 degrees Aquarius. Jupiter as the planet of opportunity and Saturn as the planet of structures at the beginning of Aquarius (innovation, change) on the solstice is the herald of a new era. It won't be an overnight transformation, and injustices will not suddenly be resolved, but humanity (and the whole planet) will enter a new phase, we will not return to the status quo.
US Pluto return: Pluto returns to the same position it was in when the US was founded. Although the return will happen in 2022/2023 we are already feeling it. Our country will continue to undergo profound transformations, dealing with the Plutonian issues of death and rebirth, over the next 2-3 years.
Uranus in Taurus:Bubbling underneath all this and running through 2025 is Uranus in Taurus, which will continue to bring changes to how we interact with nature and our fellow non-human inhabitants of the planet.
As for Trump, I posted a few weeks ago in the astrology forum that he has two difficult transits this year: Pluto opposing his natal Saturn (running May 1-July 12 and again October 4-December 13) and Saturn opposing his natal Venus (August 18-October 23). You'll note that the two transits overlap from October 4-23. This overlap occurred in January during impeachment (and the spread of the virus) and in my opinion, the second overlap is when we will see the closing-out, if you will, of what happened in January (that is, if Trump is still active and/or sentient in October).
This is a simplistic summary but I hope it gives a glimpse of what an extraordinary moment we are in. This kind of astrological activity certainly doesn't happen often.
@vestralux THANK YOU!!!! Your certainty that Trump will be gone gives such hope and calm. That is one of the only things I have to hang on to to get through.
@cdeanne, I loved your "Rich Girl" remake! Did those lyrics come up in your dreamspace? I'm in awe of those of you who receive such strong messages and images in your dreams. I used to years ago, but I now have difficulty remembering most of them. I do know that my dream life is quite active, based on how I feel when I wake up -- usually pretty exhausted!
Your dream was disturbing, but chillingly accurate. I agree with your analysis. No wonder you felt ill the next day. Yikes!
I am a fan of the cartoonist Ward Sutton. Yesterday's Boston Globe posted this one which blew me away in its brilliant detail and spot on message: You can see more of his commentary here.
The tiny hands, the polluted skies, hillsides of gravestones, the Alt Right protesters, the sharpie, shuttered shops. The color of America is grey, reminds me of how East Berlin looked in the 1970's -- behind the Iron Curtain, grey, poor, depressed. Looks like the summation of Donald is making a big impression. Fits others' visions of his fall.
@jeanne-mayell Perfect political cartoon. "On Jan. 20, 2017, Donald J. Trump welcomed us to his presidency, and to his worldview." He's made the "American carnage" he referenced in his inaugural address come true.

Ironic that in the past few days, Katie Miller has tested positive and Trump's personal valet as well. Just think about that-Covid19 is in the White House and has infected two people close to Trump and Pence. Despite all their in house virus testing, the virus prevailed. Maybe we should just see this for a sign of their ultimate downfall. Despite all their surrogates noisily trying to spin reality away, despite all the hoopla about states reopening, despite the administration's attempt to silence the CDC and medical/science experts, the virus is still having it's way with the entire country. The death counts reach higher and higher. Unemployment grows.
In meditation, I've seen wave after wave of Covid surges across the country. The pandemic is bigger than the Donald and no amount of lies and misinformation can cover up that particular truth. After meditation a few days ago, I threw the Emperor card as my daily card. Immediately, I thought of Jeanne's Intuitive Way class exercise in which everyone reads the Emperor card as Trump. So when I first looked at the card, I saw the hard features and power of the president, an unyieldingness, a coldness, a lack of compassion. In an instant, the card changed in front of my eyes and I saw the compassionate, loving strength of our Higher Power and was reminded that we are not alone in this world. I felt the presence of all the higher powers, the angels that protect us. We may be scared as we go through this period of time, but we are not alone and we can reach out to the ultimate force of love to guide our way, to see us through, to help us persevere.
There is no way that orange one will survive what his corruption and indifference have brought to our country. Day by day, he is being fully exposed as the charlatan he is.
@bluebelle I did post that blue states have passed its peaks and are in the way down, even though the numbers of death are still high. Red states will be hit hard as their peaks will come in the coming weeks and months. I see blue states starting to open in the coming weeks and months.
Do you expect Trump's demise from COVID? I feel that Biden will serve the commoners, instead of the oligarchy.
@bluebelle So beautiful ?. I loved how the Emperor card changed - that’s throwing light on the card. A wonderful reassurance that we are being looked after by a Higher Power. We just have to do our part and not lose hope.
Also Ivanka assistant tested positive also
Eleven Secret Service members currently infected with novel coronavirus
Absolutely. Thanks for the great observations. T will not survive this virus nightmare. He's finished.
I just saw this picture yesterday. My exact vision in my 3 month forecast.
May: T exits through a door. Fades to black.
We are close.
More people are sick in WH than are being revealed.
I thought we could use some comfort and inspiration for the times we are in:

The Prayer
(performed by Chris Mann and Katharine McPhee)
I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer
When we lose our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe
La luce che tu hai
(I pray we'll find your light)
Nel cuore resterà
(And hold it in our hearts)
A ricordarci che
(When stars go out each night)
L'eterna stella sei
Nella mia preghiera
(Let this be our prayer)
Quanta fede c'è
(When shadows fill our day)
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
Sogniamo un mondo senza più violenza
Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace, e di fraternità
La forza che ci dà
(We ask that life be kind)
È il desiderio che
(And watch us from above)
Ognuno trovi amor
(We hope each soul will find)
Intorno e dentro a sé
(Another soul to love)
Let this be our prayer
(Let this be our prayer)
Just like every child
(Just like every child)
Need to find a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
È la fede che
Hai acceso in noi
Sento che ci salvera

This is a good reminder that The Emperor can mean very different things depending on who or what you're reading. When I did my life reading with Jeanne last fall, she pulled The Emperor as one of my soul cards ? .
