Gracesinger, we are gardeners and many, many wild things grow in and out of control,ours is primary wild blackberries whose vines travel underground and come up with stinging, clinging, suffocating other plants vines covering almost evergthing like alien movies.
We work with them, give them boundaries and cut, grub, plow under as needed. They are nuisances but they still give a sweet fruit when our own berries are exhausted or the heat has killed ours. So in a strange way they still serve a purpose and are a part of all that is, in all of nature. The hood, the bad, and even the inside ugly.
Nevertheless they upset us and are trouble. So just like toxic people, toxic relationships or challenging problems, the gardens pests of our life truly are so much like the gardens of pesty people in our lives, whether we want them there or not.
I laughed hard at what you wrote and enjoyed it tremendously. Now, every time someone who is a challenge to be around or feels like they are driving me or my value crazy appears in my life, I am going to say to myself *oh well there just wild strawberries!"

I loved this tape of Kamela Harris, her visit, the questions put out to her, but most of all the opportunity to see into the heart and the pain of this horribly tragedy in the timeline of our history. The need to subjugate and control others for domination through separation, torture, and hopelessness is a horrific part of our insane human experience throughout time.
It is disgusting and unacceptable but when we look in the mirror of time and see the truth nature of beastliness among us it's call to action is the warrior call we needed to wake us up before it was too late for the very survival of our species. I want to share what happened here in San Diego yesterday. First of all, never made it out of my house to get to a march because I was getting intermittent vertigo all day (which then bloomed into a migraine overnight). The Keep Families Together March downtown was well attended. The march that I had planned to go to, at Otay Mesa Detention Center, had a much smaller crowd but had more leaders of different faiths. There were also acts of civil disobedience. While protesters were blocking the exits to the DC with their bodies, an ICE/Core Civic Employee tried to run them over. Several were injured, reportedly not seriously, even so, police did not stop or arrest the driver, who sped off in a black sedan. About 7 people got arrested. Police didn't beat them, but they were dragged around a bit. I know a couple of them from different Resistance-based orgs/circles. A couple of them are green card holders but not citizens, which means they could end up in this exact detention center they were protesting (and after a few years in there they would get deported). They are young people, people of color, some Muslim. A bail fund has been set up to bond them out asap. The important news is that Trump is now demanding that he use his emergency powers to order direct deportations, without there being any due process legal procedures or court appearances.
