@tesseract    ? ? ?   Where ever we go. there we are. As a Southern born Libran I can tell you off in such a manner that not only do you like it? but ... it doesn't hit you until 2-3 weeks later.. that I was gently and diplomatically pointing out your error in your ways and educating you all at once. Then? I hit my 60's ... and... decided to just be kindly blunt and not so subtle about it LOL.

@ana I like to think of it like this:  Beyond the "Good Danny Boy and the Bad Danny Boy" - Gemini are constantly struggling with two sides of themselves.  As we age, some of us get better at channeling one over the over, even when it's one of those times the other might have completely taken over.

I can go into a blind rage when I need to - that's bad Danny Boy.  But most of the time I'm able to operate in good Danny Boy.

We know exactly which one IT chose to drive the bus.

P.S.  Astrology is a foreign language to me.  You're all talking about jupiter's position in regards to Mercury and I go "Stars!  Pretty!" ?

It was announced today that Biden  has chosen  Eric Lander, a pioneer in mapping the human genome, to be his chief science adviser and is elevating the top science job to a Cabinet position.

Lander was the lead author of the first paper announcing the details of the human genome, the" book of life".

“Elevating (the science adviser) role to member in the President’s Cabinet clearly signals the administration’s intent to involve scientific expertise in every policy discussion,” said Sudip Parikh, chief executive officer of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the world’s largest general scientific society.

With more of Biden's plans for the first 100 days I find myself in a state of whiplash.  From "Action only on the wrong things" under the T administration, to "Holy hell, okay we doin' this!" under Biden's plans.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2021/01/18/covid-economy-joe-bidens-policies-his-first-100-days/6643346002/

Student loan forbearance:  I feel September when I meditate on this - this gives him time to get Congress to try and do something on repayment - whether it's $10K, $50K, or total forgiveness, I get "Summer" on that front.  (EDIT:  I feel like he'll EO the extension to September in order to see how things develop over the next months.)

100 Million Doses in 100 Days - Wow!  That would be great!  Our health department is getting 200 a week and that has to cover second doses and new starts, so it's going to be a long, long while before all of us in Education get our shots at this rate.

Reopening Schools:  I don't get a good vibe from this - same as when my Governor announced the same thing - a goal of having in person by March 1 (Not getting rid of online options and hybrids, etc. just primarily for the schools that have remained closed) - Goals are good, but we hit 407,000 deaths today so i don't see this happening.

Stimulus Checks:  I feel like $1400 is coming by March - There may be more later, I don't get the feeling things are done.  I also feel like this might get scaled back (i.e. smaller amount for kids) but don't have a absolute on that.

Rolling back Trump Era Policies:  Oh hell yeah!

@dannyboy On the vaccines it might be doable if Astra Zeneca and Johnson and Johnson vaccines get approved, since they are fridge vaccines and they make them by the millions. So you can get it at CVS or Walgreens.

@jsr78 Hey, I'm 100% behind 100 Million doses in 100 days.  I hope to be one of those 100 million doses.

Our health department is getting 200 doses a week and serves 10 counties - so when people say "Get schools opened" or "The goal is March 1st to offer in-person instruction options" - I chuckle because this is one of those times the cities will get it first and the rural areas will be playing catch up.  There are 800 teachers in the two counties my ISD services alone, and our health department services 15 counties.  At 200 a week (total for new AND second shots) we're looking at 20 weeks minimum by my math before we can assume all the teachers will have had both shots.  There's 18 weeks left in this particular school year.  So - lets get those other vaccines out and invoke Defense Production Act on all of em!

As a "central office" guy who is working from home until at least April 14th, I'm planning on getting on the list for vaccines, but I won't take one from a person in the actual classroom (like my wife), so I'm planning on a May/June shot and will be pleasantly surprised if it comes earlier.

My MOTHER however got her first shot the first day it was available thanks in no small part to my brother (he's involved at the state level coordination of the vaccine distribution, and has repeatedly tried to tell me how to jump the line - I can't in good conscious do that, but I'm grateful he is worried and happy he got our mom her shot)  Because she'll have both doses and be done with it all before Spring Break, we're going to spend a few days with her over Spring Break.  It will be awesome.
