The Vaccine - Many issues to discuss

Update, day two. Very sore under armpit (lymph nodes sore and swollen), arm pain going away, no other symptoms. ?

I have been wondering if not receiving the second shot later (eight weeks) has anything to do with it. Not recommending that, just curious because the rest of my family spent two days post second shot in misery. Or maybe I'm just used to feeling like crap so I'm not noticing? ?

Reactions to the vaccine are varied and random , and I haven't been able discern any pattern from people's individual vaccine  reactions.  No one in my extended family had any reaction beyond a mildly sore arm and a little bit of fatigue.  These people are men and women aged 19 to 93.  Most of my co-workers were also fine, with a few exceptions being a 60-something man, 60-something woman, and a 30-something man.   No pattern there either.  And it seems people on this forum have had widely different reactions.   This isn't a large-scale controlled study of course, but there aren't even any consistent hints to be found in the limited data set.

The great thing is that now I feel 90% invincible and although I still follow mask and distancing protocol, it is a great comfort.

I hope you feel better soon-- in fact I'm sure you will!

@lizzie

I've read many articles and predictions about the end of the world down through the years. I have my personal religious beliefs about it. I don't think COVID is it. Just another nasty bump in the road.

deetoo,

That was my worry as well; that the vaccine would trigger a bad fibro attack that would last weeks or months, exactly as you said.

I decided that catching COVID, besides being potentially deadly, if I became a long-hauler I would be dealing with those symptoms on top of what I already have, so, as the saying goes, the devil you know.

Iridium,

I am so, so grateful for how it appears to be playing out, and of course, grateful for the vaccine. Hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel for all of us, and for places like India where there is so much suffering.

Even if you feel like dogmeat for a couple days, COVID is much worse.

Just leaving this here for everyone's information. Turns out that there are basically 12 people who are actively spreading vaccine and other COVID misinformation. the worst offender is "Dr. Mercola" - who I know many of us have seen his postings online in the past.

We will never have herd immunity as long as people like this continue as they have been. Yes, in the US you have a right to free speech, but that doesn't include speech that ultimately harms others.

The Disinformation Dozen

@laura-f

Thank you for this.  I used to visit Mercola's website from time to time.  I went less beginning a few years ago and stopped all together when covid hit.  I started getting all sorts of red flags while visiting the last time or too.

Thank you for this information.

@laura-f Thank you for that document. I was dismayed to see Christian Northrup on that list as an anti-vaxer. She is someone I use to respect in the early days of alternative medicine.

That's too bad.  I used to like Northrup as well but things I've read from her recently have raised red flags with my logic.

@jeanne-mayell @iridium @lovendures

Yes I was disappointed too, Dr Northrup did so much for breast cancer awareness. And I didn't realize  for a long time that Mercola is a quack a la Alex Jones.
