@lovendures If you watch the trajectory it's taken in other countries lots of things are going to be slamming shut seemingly out of nowhere.  (Though not, unfortunately, to the tune of lockdowns in most places I'm afraid)

and  of course "Guvnah Kemp" good ole boy and GQP that he is : https://www.stamfordadvocate.com/news/article/Atlanta-reinstates-indoor-mask-mandate-as-omicron-16720167.

Once again I am sheltering in place, fully vaccinated and boostered, because the Kool-Aid drinkers are too busy screaming about insurrection in 2024 and guns and vaccines and religion and more. It's really difficult to do anything out there in public here these days *sigh*

Hibernation is starting to look pretty damn good.

@journeywithme2 I am so sorry my friend.  I'm looking forward to my 12 days of solace before going back to work (though if there's a snow day tomorrow I'm emailing HR and telling them to switch my day off tomorrow to January 3rd - apparently it's icy!) and even once back to work I wish I could hibernate myself.  I read everything my brother sends me on Omicron and it appears that my third booster was fortuitous both for my daughters case of COVID in late October and for the extra boost it gave my immune system and how that's going to ideally help me get through this wave.  That said my professional learning is now mostly remote again this winter/spring (two locations including home base keeping me in person) - it's the musical I'm directing at the high school that is giving me the most anxiety.

May what comes after this wave truly be the corner turned.

Light and love my friend.  Light and love.

@dannyboy  Thank you so much dear one.. it is currently sorely needed. I am facing depression (SAD) as well as two currently very stressful family situations... and every time I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel?  It's been a train!!!!  I am working through it.... I have had enough!!!! I am turning my focus inward to release and clear and not react with it, but to make clear choices that are to my Highest Good as well as theirs. I am choosing Peace and Light and Love and moving forward for myself as much as possible .  So I will take all the Love and Light that can be sent me.

Wishing all here... the best Peace, Joy,Light,Love and holiday season that can possibly be had under the circumstances.

@journeywithme2 This may seem a silly recommendation, but if you can find a full spectrum light bulb that you can put in a well-ventilated and open area, turn it on and sit in the same room with it for an hour or so a day.  My mom has one in her overhead bathroom fixture as a "heat lamp", and she turns it on while she's relaxing in bed before sleeping each night.  Even though it doesn't shine directly on her (and it shouldn't...they can cause sunburn for real!) the reflected light from it has helped her mood considerably.

@tgraf66 Good idea! I go outside and sit in the sun every chance I get but we have had a lot of grey skies and rain here lately. I have been looking in to one of those light mirrors too.

@jeanne-mayell

She is not a mask wearer unless required.  She is a long hauler and really tired of fighting covid.  Although this is not a bad case for her, she is not mentally up for another covid fight.  I am glad this is more like a bad cold for her.  She will not get a vaccine in the future either.

Well that went well, a week after restrictions got removed they have realised they threw the baby out with the bath water. Incredible increase in cases with lengthy queues at testing stations.

The QR codes are back so at least we have a chance to know where the cases are. Masks at least in NSW are not mandated but highly recommended inside and to help get the queues down the NSW govt is going to get the Antigen tests and give them free to each household. Won’t hold my breath on that though. They seem to be sold out at the moment and more need to arrive into the country.

Regards to all
